Excellent location near St Kilda beach and plenty of choice of nearby restaurants
Pros:

High enough to dismiss outside noise, double glazed. Views over the street with glimpses of city in distance.

Comfortable beds but little else to offer for the price.

Good, well priced breakfast.

Cons:

Very slow wifi which often timed out. Staff said that they would attend to this issue but didn’t. Room had holes and bad wear and stains in the carpet, dirty windows mould in the bathroom, marked walls and peeling laminate.

TV was difficult to get regular channels on without going around the menu. I expected to turn it on and have a TV channel and then be able to select a pay channel.

Not great. If you’re only there for a short time and don’t want to spend much time in the hotel it’s okay
Pros:

Very close to the amenities in St Kilda and the tram stop into Melbourne. The receptionist let us check in early because the luggage room was full. If you don’t plan on spending much time in the hotel it’s okay

Cons:

We stayed for 10 days and the cleaners didn’t clean the room the entire time we were there. They changed the towels twice and changed the bedding once. The one time they changed the bedding they also took my partners pyjamas and then denied them being taken to the cleaners. I’m well aware this was a mistake but they could’ve enquired with the cleaning company. The duvet was stained and they don’t clean the bathroom. The bathroom was mouldy and dirty.
The bar wasn’t open the whole time we were there and the breakfast options were limited to just toasties on several days which was disappointing.
A lot of homeless and drug addicts in the vicinity of the hotel, made it feel a bit unsafe late at night.
Once turned on, the aircon wouldn’t turn off despite the controller saying it was off.
There was clearly someone smoking in the room next to ours as you could smell it on the corridor. The communal area was large enough for about 5 people to sit in.
The hotel and the bedrooms especially look nothing like the photos.

A well located hotel, close to trams and beach and serves a great breakfast.
Pros:

It was in a good location, close to the trams and within walking distance of the beach. Breakfast was very good.

Cons:

The initial room I was given had poor internet connectivity, the room was not clean and the carpet was threadbare in a number of places. However, after complaining I was given a good room.

Location was good once you got out of Fitzroy Street which was 2 mins walk.

Reception area and staff friendly efficient and clean

Expensive for what you get.
Pros:

Proximity to the tram. Bed very comfortable and linens top notch. Good mini fridge and room safe handy.

Cons:

Understand that this hotel will undergo renovations as recently purchased by the Accor group of hotels. First thing to be replaced would be the carpets. Bathroom needs updating. Please replace tub with walk in shower. Hooks on the back of bathroom door up too high…impossible to hang your towel there if under 5’5”. In the bathroom above the sink there is a gap between the ledge and the backsplash which is wide enough for things like toothbrush to fall through. Used rolled facecloth to block the gap

No room service. Happy Hour perfect but only 2 days/week. Restaurant open only for breakfast. Many restaurants nearby as well as homeless sleeping on the sidewalks.

Name is a misnomer ie beach hotel it ain’t. The beach is a 10 min walk.
