This is a great hotel! Service was phenomenal and the room was great. Highly recommend. You can walk to everywhere and the smaller towns are only 10 min away. I’d stay here again if I came back.
A most lovely inn with the best service. I decided to upgrade our room at the last minute. The best decision ever! The room was so spacious, warmed by a beautiful fireplace, with a complimentary bottle of wine upon arrival, and THE best bed. Stephanie was so lovely upon check in and check out - even allowing a later check out. I cannot say enough good things about this Inn. I will definitely be back!
My sister and I stayed at the Fess Parker Wine Country Inn on Friday and Saturday (July 24th and the 25th) as we were attending my nieces wedding that just happened to also be at the Fess Parker Winery. To say that the wedding was beautiful and joyous would be an understatement as my niece and new nephew in law beamed as they took their vows. My niece especially was radiant!!! About the Inn ...
Easy a 7 star property and I have traveled extensively for work an have had the privilege to stay at many 5+ star properties around the globe. Fess Parker Wine Country Inn does not disappoint from the moment you drive up to the property. Charming doesn't begin to do it justice, it's beautiful, the front desk staff is courteous and welcoming. No detail is overlooked from the quality of the bedding and linen's to the décor and the bathroom amenities. Thank you for the steamer in the room, I was on "dress" duty. The grounds are meticulously maintained and the pool and adjacent outdoor "living room" a great place for a swim our lounging with a good book. The restaurant is exquisite and the bar lively (Go Dodger's!). Cannot wait to return, I highly recommend this property.
We stayed at the Fess Parker Wine Country Inn over the weekend, and it was a lovely time! From pre-arrival communication experience to being on site, staff were professional and friendly and fast responsive. The rooms and in room amenities were adorable and very clean. The location is very charming with several wineries within walking distance. The Nella Kitchen on site restaurant atmosphere was also lovely. We rented e-bikes from across the street and e-biked the wine country down to Solvang. Great weekend getaway to unplug and relax.
Beautiful hotel in a wonderful little town! I would stay here again over and over! Our room was elegant yet cozy and provided us with every amenity imaginable.
Save yourself the trouble and stay anywhere else. This so-called "luxury" hotel has a major insect problem and an even bigger customer service problem.
Within an hour of checking into our spacious room, a huge insect was crawling on me in the bed. My husband found another one in the bathroom shortly after. As someone with a phobia, I was absolutely horrified.
When we complained, the staff didn't care. Their solution? A shrug and the excuse that "it's the countryside." Nobody came to look. Nobody apologized. They just moved us and considered the problem solved.
The lack of professionalism is breathtaking. I stay in this area all the time and have never experienced this at other hotels. The fact that they try to pass this off as normal is insulting. I spent the entire night anxious and unable to sleep. Do not waste your money here. The management has shown they have no interest in providing a clean, safe, or comfortable experience.
Nice room! Great service
Great Hotel
The rooms are comfortable and nice, the staff delightful, and the restaurant located at the hotel but under different ownership had excellent food. In fact, my wife who loves flatbreads and I thought their onion/cheese flatbread was the best flatbread we had ever tasted. There was a comfortable library with a large working desk and nice grounds with multiple places to sit.
The downsides were the cost of our stay and the breakfasts. At $1200 for a weekend night, I could only give the value 2 stars out of 5. And the breakfast was pitiful for a luxury hotel, much more similar to a Day's Inn, and the same every day. My other suggestion for improvement would be to have some way to shut off the bedroom from the sitting room. My wife is an early riser and I am not. With a door to the bedroom she could go to the sitting room and not bother me. Instead she had to get dressed and go to the library.
Best place we have ever stayed, this time was probably our 6th or 7th time, we will be back for sure.
A couple things we giggled about:
For A $1200 a night room:
1) Continental breakfast is included? Our last visit, Breakfast at the restaurant was included.
2) Charged us $8 for the corkscrew we took.
3) Windows in our room were dirty and smeared.
4) Rain gutters needed to be cleaned.
5) Previous restaurant was better and had better deserts.
Again: this is the best place we have ever stayed, this time was probably our 6th or 7th time, we will be back for sure.
Disappointing except for the restaurant. Bathroom totally subpar, water never got hot, very expensive stay, and I left a message for the general manager that was never returned. Wish we had cast a wider net as there were other properties not all that much further away from the center of town.
Such a treat to visit the Fess Parker in again for our 25th wedding anniversary. From the spectacular room to the stellar staff and the central location for wine tasting by day and wonderful food experiences by night, this really is the perfect place to stay. We also enjoyed late afternoon dips in the pool as the weather was perfect as well! We look forward to returning again and again! Thank you for making our visit so special.
The contacts made to us prior to our stay were very friendly and I felt welcomed even before we arrived. Very reassuring.
Have stayed here before many years ago and pleased to see the hotel remains a lovely destination
Start to finish it was A+!
My husband I spent 3 nights at the Fess Parker Wine Country Inn, and we continue to impressed with the rooms and service, as this was our third stay.
We checked in early and were assisted in transporting 5 cases of wine we had purchased earlier. The staff at the front desk, and the bellman could not have been nicer.
As with our previous stays, the room was modern with all the amenities you need for a quality stay. The room was very quiet and was walkable to all the unique shops restaurants and wineries in town. We enjoyed our morning walks through town in this quaint location.
My only concerns were the skimpy buffet breakfast offered, and the quality of food in Nella’s kitchen. During our last visit, the meatballs were better. ( size and taste) . However our server, Forrest was great.
Love the location and restaurant on property. Was very disappointed in the hotel staff. Checked in on a rainy night no assistance offered for luggage or parking. No housekeeping M-W. “Turn down service” didn’t even restock basic bathroom amenities.
For the price paid the value just wasn’t there. Front desk staff was rude and confrontational solving folio questions. Very disappointed as my wife and I were looking to make this a regular getaway.
Delighted to report a warm and wonderful solo adventure weekend thanks to the great hospitality at Fess Parker. From check in to check out, gracious and accommodating staff. Restaurant recommendations were spot on: Nella and Wine Merchant Cafe. Lively Saturday night in the bar area after Christmas tree lighting was fun. As a solo traveler I always appreciate the same level of service that’s bestowed on couples couples couples. Thank you team!
Four of us booked the wine cottage for three nights in the beginning of Oct. It is a beautiful 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom cottage that sits behind the Epiphany Tasting Room which makes it very convenient for tastings there. When booking the cottage you get complimentary tasting to Epiphany and Fess Parker. The cottage has a large living area with comfortable sofas and a full kitchen. The cottage was spotless and the air conditioning worked great. There is also an outdoor area but we spent our time at Epiphany enjoying the wine. You can use the Fess Parker Inn facilities but we didn’t have time to take advantage of them. The staff was kind enough to call us when the cottage was ready so we could get in early. There was a Keurig as well as a drip coffee maker.
Lovely hotel on the main drag in Los Olivos. The rooms are very large and luxurious and well appointed. I didn't hear any noise from the street and while it was incredibly hot outside the two air systems in my room kept it more than comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the restaurant is spectacular. And they place a wonderful bottle of wine in each room. Such a great touch!
If you are accustomed to the best in life, you will feel right at home here. We had Suite One and it was an experience unlike any other we’ve had. Understated, luxurious, quiet, perfection, what a way to live.o
