Everything was wonderful
Cost was a little high
Allowing us to check in early for a wedding.
Staff was rude restaurant was bad.
The room was very clean, beautifully decorated, and layout of the room was great overlooking the river!
My only concern was the pool. It seemed quite unclean and having 2 children with us, the pool was a big appeal for us in booking. There were stains in the bottom of the pool and the water almost had a film or oily feel to it. My husband refused to swim after his first time.
This was probably the fourth year we’ve spent tonight at this hotel as we were driving north. We like the location near the river and usually just walk up the path to find a restaurant for dinner. This year it was pouring rain and so we ate in the hotel restaurant and that is a nice facility.
I didn’t appreciate having to pay extra for parking way down the hallway, past another building and especially when there is literally nowhere else to park.
Nicely located on the riverbank, 10 minute walk to the nearest restaurants in a little bit more than 15 minute walk to downtown.
Attention to detail is a little bit missing. For example, the swimming pool area needs a refurbishment or at least a deep cleaning as it’s aged. Breakfast has to be paid extra and is provided in the buffet style in the restaurant. But the buffet was so cool. I’ve seen even better breakfast to face included in the room rate (and that means a lot in America). There was citrus flavored water provided in the lobby, but one time I passed by there were no cups. The second time I passed by there were cups, but it was empty.
Parking
Close proximity to WVU campus, fabulous beds and pillows, great service.
Long haul between parking garage and room.
This hotel is overpriced for what you actually receive. The bed is hard as a rock.
The pool and hot tub facilities are rusty and never stocked with towels.
You pay to park your car, its not included with your stay. The garage feels like walking through an airport by how far away you have to walk until you get to the front desk.
Housekeeping knocked on our door at 8am on checkout day and attempted entry while I was in the shower. Checkout isn't until 12.
The only good thing I can say is that the room was clean. I definitely wouldn't stay here again and I can't say I'd recommend it to anyone else either.
Very dirty
Localização, instalações, limpeza
Deixei alguns objetos no quarto e fiz checkout. Depois veio a cobrança de uma diária extra por isso
The Marriott in Morgantown was an enjoyable stay. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, the decor was nice, and the property was in great condition. The Marriott is 2 lights away from West Virginia University (WVU) so there is plenty to do.
Laney at the front desk resolved a booking issue and helped me out.
Word of advice for future guests:
The walk from the parking garage to the front desk and rooms is a long haul. You essentially walk through the Convention Center and more just to get to the area.
If in Morgantown or visiting WVU, I'd recommend this property over anything else.
The rooms and the lobby were perfectly clean and felt new and updated.
The parking fee was exorbitant and the snack shop was overpriced.
Beautiful setting. Expected a good experience. Upon checking into our room, the view of the river was amazing. After checking the beds as I always do, I was disgusted that the sheets were dirty from previous guests. Long black hair was in one bed and wrinkled, dirty sheets on the other. Hotel moved us to a different room which smelled so strongly of air freshener we had to leave for an hour while they used a machine to clean the air. Beds were clean in this room, but potato chips were on the floor next to the bed. Food at the restaurant was not as expected, but it was nice not to have to leave the hotel. Don't order the cheesecake. Served like a toileting accident had occurred on the plate. The river walk was lovely but the hotel made no accommodations to get to it in a wheelchair. We were told to follow the side of the parking garage which is steeper than the 1" to 1 foot requirement for ramps. An escort to the ground floor in an elevator would have been safer and appreciated. If you come here, be prepared for a pretty setting and bad housekeeping.
Fantastic Marriott property in Morgantown. Newer Conference Style Marriott that is a great option for visiting WVU. If you are a prospective student - you begin your tour literally across the parking lot. Hotel has a fantastic gym and pool area - located on a nice 6 mile rails to trails walking path along the river and access to some nice restaurants in the Waterfront Area. You are slightly out of the main town, but still easy to get everywhere. Best water pressure I've ever had in a hotel shower!
