A gorgeous hotel in a beautiful area on the waterfront. The view in the evening/morning was gorgeous. The room itself was amazing, very warm and cosy and lots of amenities in the room - tea, coffee, biscuits. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was lovely to use. The bed was extremely comfortable to sleep in and very large so lots of space. Towels provided were soft and fluffy. Overall had a lovely stay, it’s right by some yummy restaurants/bars. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the room service breakfast was absolutely delicious! Plus brought us toast which we requested. Would love to stay here again in the future. They also wrote a lovely happy birthday note for arrival.
Still one of our favourite Hotels. Yes at the moment it does have renovations ongoing but if you stay for the weekend no building work goes ahead so as quiet as always. We stayed for two nights (Friday/Saturday) the builders stopped at 3.00pm on the Friday ready for guests to check in, (but to be honest they were rather quiet).
There is a beautiful lounge area on the top floor (penthouse) if you didn’t want to stay in your room where you are able to have a drink with the most amazing views over the marina towards the Orwell bridge. Can’t wait to see the finished project.
Or even return to see how things are coming along.
Had the pleasure of staying here while working in the area .
The hotels ground floor is currently being renovated so there is no restaurant but a bar is available on the 6th floor .
Breakfast is being served in the rooms and room service is available for evening meals.
Upon check in the staff were wonderful and friendly and due to work I got an upgraded room , WOW, fantastic view of the harbour and the most luxurious bed I have ever seen , everything about this hotel just screams class!!
For me people make the difference and that personal touch means a lot when you are a guest .
Thank you , I absolutely love this hotel and look forward to visiting when the works are complete.
Clean trendy, warm rooms
Area for drinks, need more space
Currently staying at the Salt house Harbour Hotel for a couple of nights. Booked one on the Penthouse Suites. Room 605
Warm welcoming at reception and very accommodating in terms of taking our luggage up to our room
Room is moderately spacious for suite and the glass frontage from the bedroom and the living area provides for fantastic views of the harbour.
The decor in the bedroom works well with the wooden ornate bed headrest and side lamps. Love the drift wood lamps shades in the living area and the curtains work well.
The TV area and furniture in the living area just doesn’t work for me and looks completely outdated. The pictures on the walls are simply not fitting for a suite of this nature.
The Bathroom en-suite is very plain and not what you would expect for a penthouse suite. The green floor tiles are simply not my taste.
Although clean and tidy it needs a complete overhaul to give it some character. Very disappointing that a penthouse suite of this nature didn’t even have any luxury bath salts and there doesn’t seem to be any underfloor heating so your feet are freezing cold when walking into the bathroom.
The surrounding with the Marina and the harbour walk is classy. Great service at the hotel and large rooms, clean and a little taste of luxury. Sitting breakfast, might a little expensive but close to other places just outside the hotel door. Compare to prices in London, this is a great deal of feeling great.
Everything
Nothing
Great place to stay after a busy month of travelling. We stay different counties on our business trips and this time we chose this place
I loved the decor and ambiance of the place

Had a great weekend stay here in November 2025 - we used their weekend deal and it was definitely worth the money.
The hotel is decorated to a high standard, with a few quirky art pieces.
We stayed on the 5th floor and had a small balcony, although only their standard room. Bathroom was a little dated, could do with a refurb.
Breakfast was amazing. Staff extremely attentive. The only problem was waiting for dinner for over 45mins, but we just enjoyed our drinks and some time together. Food was incredible, when it did arrive. Great location overlooking the marina and a short distance from the town centre and football stadium. Would definitely return and recommend.
Room was lovely and cosy with lovely ambient lighting and nice attention to detail. View form front was great. Attractive restaurant serving very good food. Staff very polite and helpful and had personality. Ability to park so close was a bonus.
No complaints
Clean and attentive staff

We had booked a 1 night stay in a harbour view room after deciding to upgrade from the standard Salthouse room.
We arrived 3pm on the dot for a 3pm check-in. We pulled into the car park & thankfully 2 bays free. It is a small car park but I didn’t need the assistance offered to park up.
We proceeded to check in & it was a very quick & easy, we were soon on way to our room 306. On opening the door we both let out a big wow, what an amazing, spacious & well designed room, it just looked so perfect, the pictures on website doesn’t do it justice. We proceeded to look out to see the views & for November what an amazing scenery , really just topped off the feeling of luxury. The room was very cosy & furniture just so comfortable & made you feel so relaxed.. Room had the standard complimentary beverages, with biscuits & toiletries available if required in the bath room.
After a night around the harbour we decided to try the hotel bar for a nightcap. We both picked something of the cocktail list & both really enjoyed. For an extra special treat we ordered breakfast in bed & though £20 per person for the full English you definitely get money’s worth, we couldn’t finish it off.
We couldn’t fault anything with our stay, it looks glamorous & well maintained from walking thru front doors to the staff very attentive & helpful.
This place is a hidden jewel in Ipswich. We are from Norfolk & didn’t realise this area existed we enjoyed so much we are planning a return visit next June,. Can imagine with the summer weather it will be a hive of activity
Breakfast choices were good and presented well, staff were very nice and helpful. Location has a lovely outlook over the marina and a good choice of restaurants and cafés. Hotel
Itself has lovely seating areas and quirky decor.
This is no fault of the hotel itself but location didn’t have any small shops close by to browse in.
Very friendly staff and excellent food
