Comfortable and clean
Location is good. Staff are very helpful and polite.
Property is OLD. Bathroom is dated. Water pressure was so slow. Bidet was almost useless.
Great location and free late check out
The room is relatively small and the decoration of toilet is quite dated. Towels seems not that clean.
Working distance to tourist attraction..awsome
Nothing
consistency ... standards kept every stay
everything was spectacular from the first i step into the hotel. the staff, the ambiance, the location.
1. the room, it is very big and comfortable and i had so many space for me to perform my prayers without blocking others way.
2. staff is very friendly, assisting me and my mother well when we needed something especially during the breakfast
3. the welcome drink they provided for the customers during check-in, very thoughtful
since it's a very hot weather during my visit, the A/C kinda not cool enough but glad that they have fan as well in the room, so somehow it helps to cool the room which i cannot complaint much
Location is very convenient. Had a good view of the sea from our room.
Nothing I could think of except the first room had a leak from the toilet bowl but was given a room change immediately which was very efficient.
aircond & fan
facing town
Stayed 2 nights on 15th & 16th March. What an awesome place to stay in. From the moment our car pulled up, the porter was there to take our bags with a smile. At the reception all the staff were so pleasant. So flexible with early check in late check out. The room was beautiful and so clean and the views spectacular. My husband and I were so impressed. A lovely jacuzzi swimming pool with spectacular views. Location +++ a free bus right in front of this hotel which takes you to Chowrasta market, Penang Street and many other stops up to the jetty. Walking distance to many interesting spots for shopping and eating. Also opposite the hotel is Red garden food paradise, many stalls serving authentic tasty food at a cheap price. Hotel Cititel has also awesome restaurants. We dined in their chinese restaurant with yummy yum cha and prawn dishes etc.

Stayed 2 nights as part of a tour group. The hotel is located walking distance to Georgetown and everywhere you need. The lobby was an oasis from the heat and smells of the town and Mr. Zabidi always welcomed you with a big smile. The rooms were a little dated but had a lovely big shower, great A/C and a proper wardrobe and dressing table. We had a corner room with dual aspect windows so could look out at night and see the port and the lights.
The hotel clearly caters for large groups of Chinese so although the buffet breakfast was huge there was actually very little for the Western traveller. Fried rice, stir fried veg, chicken soup, noodles and curry are not something I want for breakfast. The cheese and meat were in one tray with only one set of tongs so as a non meat eater I couldn’t have any cheese as it was contaminated, a basic rule of hygiene and cross contamination surely? However, the scrambled eggs were delicious, made fresh and the first time they were cooked properly in the 2 weeks we had been travelling.
We loved the pool area too after a hot sticky day of walking tours and we had the place to ourselves. Great staff, friendly although lunch was slow and some of the young boys didn’t really know what they were doing it took a lady to get the lunch organised. Maybe some more training required.
