Good little hotel all around. Biggest complaint would be the not great television channel selection
Pros:

Room temperature was good. Food choices in lobby were good. Staff very nice.
Really liked Starbucks in lobby.
Although I didn't use laundry, very pleased that it was there.

Cons:

Limited television channels. Paid movies would have been nice. Bathroom was too small. I did not care for the bidet/toilet as it was too large for the bathroom.
Most of the pillows were lumpy.
Carpet in the bed area would have been nice.
Perpetual scraping noise outside some nights ground level. Don't know what it was. This was not neighbourhood construction noise. I'm sure other guests facing that side will mention it.
Very surprised that the housekeeper would run the dishwasher when there were only about 3 items. Seemed like a tremendous waste of water and power.
Really would have liked a herbal tea in the room as a caffeine free option in the evening. Only had on the tray one night. Asked at the front desk but she didn't have any.
Ice machine somewhat difficult to access downstairs.

I've stayed in many APA hotels in Japan. I had expectations which APA Calgary did NOT meet. DIRTY!

Room was absolutely filthy. Probably the dirtiest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Floor covered in thick layer of filth you can feel through socks with little bits of dirt everywhere with many noticeable smear marks where staff simple wiped something off floor without actually cleaning, dirty towels crumpled and left in washroom (from previous guest?), many light switches which do not work, and windows which open just a few inches. The dirt was the worst part. I felt very uncomfortable walking without shoes on.

It was a perfect location, the room was comfortable and the staff was friendly and competent.
Pros:

Location, room was clean and spacious. Did not try the breakfast.

Cons:

We couldn't figure out how to find the guide on the TV Remote. Not that we watched very much TV.
