Reception staff were welcoming and generally helpful.
Prashant the hotel Concierge was the man that made 3 stars to 5 star rating!
From the moment we walked through the doors of the Intercontinental hotel in the early hours of a Sunday morning we were treated like family. A warm welcome, calm and efficient check in. A birthday cake awaiting us to celebrate Jon’s birthday felt like someone was giving us a big hug.
Everywhere we went in the hotel we were greeted with warm smiles and nothing was too much trouble.
Fahad, had been in touch before we arrived to confirm our booking and he greeted us like old friends when we arrived. He gave us so much useful information and help, and we cannot thank him enough. Aamir, Shreya and Prasenjit also helped us a great deal.
Prashant, the concierge was brilliant. He connected us to people who could get/do what we wanted. We wanted a jacket made - and within 10 mins we were being whisked away in an uber to a local tailor and being fitted for a jacket. He checked in regularly to make sure we were all ok.
The restaurant team were all fabulous. They knew what we wanted each morning, even before we did! 🤣. They gave us time and space to enjoy our family breakfasts and make sure we were fed ready for the day ahead.
The housekeeping team we didn’t really see much of but they were there quietly going about making sure our room was clean, tidy and well stocked with bottles of water. All very much appreciated.
I haven’t mentioned the hotel building itself as the hotel is so very much about its staff.

Top-notch food!!! Amazing that the restaurant turned out a consistently delicious meal, all prepared to order, with indulgently attentive service. Fantastic sizeable rooms were impeccably clean, often cleaned twice daily. Staff all kind, professional and helpful. The property is aging but the personal touch makes up for that. Highly recommend.

The staff was great, especially the people serving breakfast.
Great breakfast, big rooms, nice pool on the roof.
The "bay view" rooms have mostly a view on another building if you are not on the highest floor (you can see a bit of the bay but not much).
The rooms had a smell of humidity/mold but I guess it's common near the sea (also impossible to open the windows so that would explain).

The red corner Restaurant can be highly recommended.
There could have been more storage in the room. And under the bed is full of dust and dirt.
And the showerhead needs a good clean too.

Roof top bar was erg mooi, eerste avond stond daar de muziek te hard, later prima.
Uitstekend en zeer plezierig personeel: aan de receptie, in het restaurant en in de roof top. Zeer goed geholpen door de conciërge bij het reserveren van restaurant en uitstapjes.
WC op de kamer had een complex doortrek systeem, dat was irritant. Bed voor mij te hard voor mijn partner goed.
Zwembad en terras zijn niet indrukwekkend qua omvang, wel prachtig uitzicht.
Perfectly situated along Marine Drive with views from restaurants over the sea. In easy reach of several major tourist sights. Well equipped rooms. Great staff.Not cheap but a beer on the rooftop watching the sun go down was worth it. Breakfast was wonderful.
Prices displayed in restaurants did not appear to include taxes and where alcohol is served this raised the price quite a bit.. Pool is small and not suitable for swimming lengths, more of a plunge pool. The noise from Marine Drive, mostly cars hooting, made seaview room less worthwhile. Probably I would go for a quieter room next time and just enjoy the views from the restaurants.
