Amazing views, delicious breakfast! Tea provided in the room felt luxury.
Lots of construction work around the surrounding sites.
Omg! The avocado toast was to die for! Amazing eggs in NZ! The room was lucious. The staff extraordinarily friendly / exception the dinner servers for a woman alone.
Construction. I stayed in room 419 and the traffic from Fernhill was disruptive to the otherwise tranquil setting.
nothing in particular
Did not allow late check out
we stayed for 4 days
Kept ringing to get out
A stunning and peaceful view in the lake view room, wonderful food with great and friendly service from the waitresses in the restaurant. Great quiet location, short distance from the buzz of the city center
Optimisation to the maximum: overpriced for the size of the room, no real king size bed, no regular water bottle service, no minibar. And the stone wall decor in the restaurant and bar by the fire place turned out to be plastic:-(
Well all of the photos show lake view rooms. We had a room that looked at a parking lot and a huge crane. No view of the lake at all. The nest restaurant is fantastic and the staff was excellent. And it was $400 nzd per night. We could’ve stayed at many places

Restaurant service
Would have liked a little flexibility in a couple of requests asked of reception staff…
I wish I could give a worse (or better) review.
But I can’t.
We reached late and were declined a dinner or a room service but I understand the restaurant was closing in 5 minutes. Although they did offer a cheese platter at 40dollars
We had requested a lake view room. We didn’t get. They said not available. We didn’t argue. However when you pay for services you expect a good experience in return and not a short end of a stick.
Cummon guys, you can call up the guest if they are running late and offer a solution. We could have ordered while being transported from airport.
Person at desk suggested uber eats which is what we did.
On reaching the room we found that the quilt is between two sheets without any cover (same experience in qt hotel Auckland- perhaps a nz default, not very hygienic)
We switched on the TV. No news channel, no sports channel, I was keen on watching Australian open tennis. They said sir please use your streaming services- fair enough but who’s streaming services work when abroad?
Not a high end experience.
However room is comfortable and air
It was a beautiful place to relax after the Milford sound 4 day trek
Lovely lounge area for snack and drinks a lovely place to sit and look at the view.
The restaurant area although not large catered to a lot of people enjoying the space.
The view from the room was classed as mountain view of the Remarkable mountain, a but really it was the roof of the main building with a slice of mountains.
Also of you want to use the spa and restaurant make sure you book in advance !

Same menu each night and it was very good but limited on a multi day stay

Enjoyed a wonderful four day stay at this hotel. Everything from the location, service, friendly, and attentive staff, well appointed modern rooms, etc. more than lived up to our expectations.
Also enjoyed the made-to-order breakfast as it was more personal & fresh, compared to most hotel buffets. Only thing that might have been better worse if there were some additional options for in-house dining. The only choice currently is a three course dinner at Nest, which was lovely but not something you would like to have more than once during a visit.
Alexa to drown out the noise of the flushing toilet in the adjacent/above room.
The noise of the flushing toilet in the next room. Room was small for the money paid. We stayed in a King Lake View room and expected more space. The waitstaff failed to explain what the chef's choice for the degustation menu at the point of sale or taking our order. They explained when the meal arrived only to find out it was offal / tongue. Expected more from this calibre of restaurant. This should be explained at the point of taking a customer's order.
Most of the staff were friendly. Nice restaurant.
False advertising, arrived and the lake view was interrupted by construction. This also affected the spa view which was completely covered by frosted glass. Not at all what was expected and not worth the money we spent thinking we would have the incredible views. Construction sites were using power tools etc which was noisy
Not much. Room was clean and presentable but not worth the $760 NZ price tag.
Incredibly high price tag for realistically a basic, clean and quite small room. Wonderful view but ruined by noisy construction works which woke you early in the morning and the discomfort of the restaurant guests looking directly into our room.
The foyer couch was visibly stained - which for a luxury hotel was an instant put off.
