Extremely Extremely Poor Service, we paid approx. NZ 2,500 for our 2 night stay & it was the worst stay experience for the both of us till date. For this handsome amount for a 2 night stay, one would expect top notch service but in return we faced not 1 but 3 terrible incidents during our stay.
Incident-1
The shower area of our washroom was leaking a lot of water which eventually led to the entire washroom floor being covered in water, upon notifying the same to maintenance during evening time they assured us that it’ll be rectified tomorrow as in the evening time there is no one from maintenance who can take care of it. To our surprise, the next day also it wasn’t rectified and we were just given 2-3 towels to put on the floor & use the washroom as it is. Very disappointing & dissatisfied response from the hotel team.
Incident-2
The Front Desk never picks up calls from afternoon-evening, this is very much concerning keeping in mind a guest might be in need of help, at least one should answer the call or have the courtesy to call back & check.
Incident-3
The door lock of our room was not opening through the card key & upon a continuous to & fro by the Front Desk team, it was found out that the door lock machine has ran out of battery & the room can only be opened with a manual key so we were advised that every time you leave the room & want to enter again then pls get in touch with the front desk, they will come with you to your room to open the gate manually.
Never recommending any of my friends & family to stay at KAMANA Lakehouse.
Fabulous luxury hotel nestled at the top of the hill jist a short drive or walk into the centre of Queenstown. David the manager runs a great hotel. We had a fab room overlooking the lake. Staff very efficient and we were looked after for our special anniversary
A very well arranged and appointed modern accommodation, stunning views and welcoming-helpful staff. Thank you to the Kamana team.
Gostamos da vista fo hotel . O restaurante tem um terraço de frente para o lago. Mas estão fazendo uma obra grande na frente. Espero que não interfira na linda vista
The view
The location,, cannot walk into Queenstown and there was no shuttle service, no movies to watch, just tv, overpriced
We didn't have a view of the lake, I wish we did. This is a new or updated facility, it is quiet and enjoyable
No complaints!!
Incredible view, amazing restaurant, great staff. Parking onsite which made things easier. Our room had a lake view and was gorgeous to wake up to. The restaurant view was amazing as well.
Given the price of the room, it would have been great to have a porter to help with bags etc. But this is not common in NZ hotels, sadly. Otherwise, the staff were great. The soak pools no longer have a view which was disappointed, but we were not charged to use them, thankfully.
The views and the restaurant
$$$$$
Chambre confortable.
Parking facile.
Vue sur le parking
Vista linda do restaurante. Nosso quarto ficava para uma varandinha sem vista. Mas com privacidade.
A comida do restaurante não é do nosso gosto. Gostamos de pratos simples.
Clean, modern, amazing view

We chose this hotel to stay at over Christmas and it was lovely. The view from our room was wonderful, the room itself was spacious and very comfortable. Without exception all the staff were very friendly , helpful and kind. The breakfast options were delicious and the restaurant was spacious, relaxed and had a fantastic view of lake and mountains. The lounge and bar was a very cosy place to while away a few hours reading, writing postcards, playing cards or just generally chilling! Queenstown is a short drive away down the hill.
It was quite pricey but at that time of year, over Christmas this was to be expected. The enjoyment of our stay outweighed our previous concern over the cost.
The guest house has lovely rooms and friendly staff. The views are spectacular! Beware of going to Queenstown during the Lunar New Year because of massive numbers of visitors. Fortunately, there is a public bus to get back and forth to town since parking in town would be extremely difficult ( we did find easy parking by the gondola in the morning).
Staff is friendly and helpful. The main hotel is ideal for views while relaxing or eating but I don’t recommend the rooms called “Remarkables views” as I found it very uncomfortable. It’s a separate building that is awkwardly located between the parking lot and a pretty busy street so you hear cars whenever they pass and your views are ruined with people+cars. I think the hotel missed an opportunity to optimize the views and location. I would have put frosted windows on the lower half of all those rooms rather than just curtains so one could have some privacy and keep views of the mountains but I felt like I was giving folks a show with those windows and the cars right there Location is 1.5 miles from town so walkable but beware of uber surge pricing as it can cost you $35 for that 1.5 miles trip.
The in house restaurant is unbelievable. We did the degustation menu with wine pairing and it was one of the best meals we have ever had. The venue was also spectacular.
Every staff interaction we had at the hotel was thoughtful and at a very high standard.
If you want a upscale experience in Queenstown, put Kamana at the top of our list!
We were very disappointed in our stay, the pictures on the website lead you to believe the hotel is in an isolated area, it is not! We heard the cars on the road behind us. The rooms we had did not have a view, except of the parking lot and the construction site and machinery. The soaking tubs did not have a view while in the tub as the glass was covered. There isn't a shower in the tub rooms either. The Nest restaurant served a delicious dinner, however, the were absolutely no changes allowed to the set menu. And when we asked for a salad we were told they did not have any type of greens available!
All in all not worth the money we spent.
