teveel om te benoemen
Goede bedden. Goede badkamer.
Het restaurant. Ontbijt heel goed maar lunxh en diner weinig keuze en geen 4 sterrenhotel waardig
The breakfast
The shower stuff was very old and not comfortable
Bereikbaarheid
In bad douchen is gevaarlijk voor mensen zoals wij. 73 en 77
The beds were extremely comfortable. Decor was nice.
Swiping the room key card to operate the lift.
Had to ask for two sets of towels despite booking for two.
Check in is difficult when the second guest arrives at check-in before the guest who's made the booking. This could mean a wait of several hours to get access to the room for the unnamed guest.
Het was erg warm op de kamer.
Room decoration, floor allocated and reception desk availability
Staff at the bar was pushy and rushing. Not a lot of selection for the dinner menu.
Goed bed, goede tv
We selected this hotel for a two-night weekend getaway in The Hague. Our choice was motivated by the benefits associated with my Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite status and positive online reviews.
Our stay was largely positive, featuring excellent hotel amenities and welcoming staff. Although the hotel is visibly not brand new, it has been meticulously maintained, with all furnishings in excellent condition. Due to my status, we were generously upgraded to a suite and offered complimentary breakfast in the hotel restaurant, which featured a wide and enjoyable selection of options. The MClub lounge was also a lovely space.
A minor drawback was the hotel's location, which is not the most convenient for city center access—it requires a minimum 10-minute walk to the nearest tram stop, though the tram journey itself is relatively short. However, its position is ideal if you aim to be centrally located between the beach and the city center. Furthermore, there are many excellent museums nearby, which is a significant advantage.
The one major incident that marred our experience occurred at 10:15 PM, when a member of the hotel staff entered our room without knocking or providing any warning, using their key card. When we immediately stopped them, they explained they were responding to a noise complaint and did not expect the room to be occupied. This intrusion was very startling and genuinely intrusive. Even more disappointingly, when we composed ourselves and called the reception for an explanation, the staff member, while professional, was notably unapologetic. This experience overshadowed all the positive aspects of our stay, leading us to double-lock our door afterward. While I am not seeking any compensation (the hotel had already provided plenty of value due to our status), a proactive apology letter the following day would have been a kind and necessary gesture.
Overall, it was a good stay, but the combination of the location inconvenience and, more importantly, the intrusion incident makes me reluctant to be enthusiastic about a return. Nevertheless, I would not rule out staying here again if the circumstances were right.
Details on Specifics
Check-in and Welcome: We arrived around 2 PM and found the check-in process quick and seamless. As a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite member, we were immediately granted lounge access and upgraded to an impressive Family Suite. The reception staff were friendly, very welcoming, and provided all necessary information in detail.
Room: The room was outstanding in terms of layout, size, organization, and furnishings. Situated on the 9th floor, it offered an excellent view of the city and nearby green spaces. The bathrooms were slightly smaller than anticipated but included both a separate bathtub and a shower. A minor modernization point is the lack of bedside power sockets (they are on the floor under the furniture) and USB charging ports, which complicated the process of charging devices overnight.
Service: We frequently utilized the MClub lounge, particularly for tea or coffee after being out in the cold weather. The evening happy hour offered a good selection of wines, though the food offerings could be improved as they appeared somewhat stale. More importantly, there was no explanation of the buffet items served at this lounge and there must be clear explanations of allergens and food content. Breakfast, however, was exceptional—featuring a wide array of fresh and delicious items, served by professional and welcoming staff. The reception was also very welcoming upon check-in. The most significant service lapse was the staff member barging into our room without knocking, based on the assumption the room was empty, which was truly frightening. The hotel should enforce stricter protocols for entering guest rooms, even when they are presumed vacant.
Location: The location is acceptable but a little removed from the main tram line; the closest stop is a 10-minute walk, and the tram ride to the city center takes about 15 minutes. The walk was challenging in the cold, especially when comparing the location to hotels directly in the city center. However, for those attending a conference or visiting the nearby museums, the location is perfectly suitable.
Gym: While we didn't exercise, we explored the gym. It was very well-equipped with numerous exercise options, and fresh towels and fruit were thoughtfully provided.
Overall: Our stay was enjoyable, and we greatly appreciated the Marriott Bonvoy benefits, including the room upgrade, lounge access, and complimentary breakfast. We would have concluded that this was a great stay, but the room intrusion incident profoundly and negatively affected our final opinion. For this reason, I would be hesitant to return to this specific hotel.
Staff was nice.
THE SHOWER. it was lukewarm at best.
The door being replaced was chaos - no clue how to get in, very cold area for lunch.
