Une atmosphère hors du temps
Pros:

Le lieu en lui-même est fabuleux ( avant tout, faire le tour des couloirs pour admirer les œuvres d’art), bien situé dans un quartier agréable et plus ou moins proche du centre. Si la météo s’y prête, c’est un véritable enchantement de s’installer dans le jardin intérieur. Le personnel est très aimable.

Cons:

À ce niveau, le diable se trouve dans les détails. Dommage les traces de doigts sur les couverts, les tasses en verre du petit déjeuner abîmés par le lave vaisselle, la lampe de la salle de bains qui n a pas été remplacée, le manque de crochets ou autres pour les serviettes. Des détails donc ;-)

Wunderschönes Haus in entspannter, geschichtsträchtiger Atmosphäre.

Altes Gebäude, sehr gut in Stand gehalten.

Lovely atmospheric converted convent.
Pros:

Atmospheric hotel in a converted convent. The staff were really helpful when we wanted to change our room from one which was very dark to a better one.

Cons:

The spa facilities were a bit under par. The steam room was quite chilly, and the swimming pool, although a good size, was in a metal casing so very noisy.

Beautiful and historic hotel
Pros:

From the moment you arrive, you can feel a sense of history. The outside of the hotel is undeniably beautiful. Inside the hotel has parts with a lot of character such as the chapel. However, I would say the furnishings could be improved. Our suite and the common areas were furnished with cheap looking furniture which is a letdown for such a beautiful building. This hotel could quite easily be 5 star with a bit of investment.

My husband and I stayed in Room 116 which was at the very front of the hotel. It was separate from the main hotel. This particular room had a story behind it as it belonged to a historic figure however I cannot remember who unfortunately.

The room had an entrance area which led to a main bedroom, bathroom and separate toilet. Unfortunately, the room was quite dim as the privacy curtains weren't very good and being on street level, we felt it was necessary to shut the curtains.

We found an unpleasant mark in the toilet so we reported it to the front desk. The man said he would get the cleaner to deal with it right away. We left the room and saw the cleaner heading to our room. When we returned 15 minutes later, the mark was still there so I ended up having to clean it myself. Very poor. We had our doubts about the overall cleanliness of the room. I would say that this particular room attracts a lot of noise too as it is positioned where everyone arrives or gathers for a smoke.

The service was generally pleasant but with a bit more consistency and polish, it could better reflect the high standard that the hotel promises. The lady working at the bar gave a frosty reception. We returned for a drink after dinner and a man served us and the service was very good. It's things like this that let the hotel down.

Overall, this is a hotel full of character and charm, ideal for those who appreciate history. With some improvements on style and service, it could easily transform from a lovely stay into an exceptional one.

Zeer aangenaam

We verbleven in een prachtig hotel dat gevestigd is in een voormalig klooster/hospitaal, wat zorgt voor een unieke en karaktervolle sfeer. Het historische gebouw is met veel charme behouden en nodigt echt uit om rustig te verkennen.

Het personeel is bijzonder behulpzaam en spreekt meerdere talen, wat het verblijf extra aangenaam maakt. Hoewel we niet alle faciliteiten hebben kunnen ontdekken, kregen we de indruk dat het hotel heel wat te bieden heeft.

Alleen al een wandeling door het gebouw is de moeite waard. Zeker een aanrader voor wie houdt van een bijzondere en sfeervolle verblijfplaats!

Reception staff exceptionally helpful. Loved the historical significance of the hotel

Cons:

Bar staff were slow/lazy. Had to order from bar as nobody came to take our order.
Bedroom small but comfortable enough. Would have benefited from waste bin and mirror in bedroom area.
Room probably ready for redecoration.

Pros:

Extremely accommodating staff- both Jeremie and Lily were fantastic. Lily gave us names of great restaurants and Jeremie upgraded our room. Lovely hotel- quite old but roomy and lovely bed.
