Belle parenthèse californienne
Pros:

Cons:

Le receptionniste du matin. Pas avenant pas aimable.

Be Careful Before Booking – They Took My Money and Left Me Stranded 300 Miles From Home
Pros:

I almost never leave one-star reviews, but this experience deserves one.

I booked this hotel directly through their website and prepaid for my reservation. Like many people, I carefully reviewed the room details, amenities, cancellation policy, and everything that was presented during booking. The cancellation policy stated that I had 48 hours after booking to cancel, and since I intended to stay there, I never canceled.

What was NOT made clear anywhere during my booking was that this hotel has an absolute zero-pet policy.

After driving roughly 300 miles to Palm Springs, my wife and I arrived around 4:00 PM to check in. Only then was I handed paperwork stating that no pets are allowed under any circumstances (except service animals) and that bringing a pet into the room would result in an immediate eviction and a $250 charge.

At that point, I explained the situation. We had our tiny one-year-old Pomeranian with us. He’s extremely clean, quiet, fully house-trained, and weighs next to nothing. I wasn’t trying to sneak him in—I told them immediately.

The front desk’s response?

“There is nothing we can do.”

I asked if a manager was available.

“No.”

I asked when the manager would be available.

“Not for another two weeks.”

Seriously?

So then I asked for the only reasonable solution: refund my reservation so I could find another hotel that allows pets.

Again…

“No.”

Their reasoning was that I was outside the cancellation window.

Think about how ridiculous that is.

They wouldn’t let me stay because of a policy that wasn’t made clear to me during booking, but they also refused to refund me so I could stay somewhere else.

So they essentially kept my money while refusing to provide the service I had already paid for.

I’ve stayed in countless hotels over the years. Many charge pet fees. Many have restrictions. That’s completely understandable.

But if your hotel has an absolute zero-tolerance pet policy that results in immediate eviction and a $250 penalty, that information should be impossible to miss BEFORE someone pays for a reservation and drives hundreds of miles.

Instead, I found out only after arriving at the front desk.

To make matters worse, there was apparently nobody with authority to make any decision because the manager supposedly wouldn’t even be around for two weeks.

Customer service was nonexistent.

No flexibility.

No attempt to help.

No compromise.

No refund.

Nothing.

I have since disputed the charge with my credit card company because I genuinely believe this situation was handled unfairly.

If you’re traveling with any pet—even the smallest, best-behaved dog imaginable—do yourself a favor and book somewhere else.

There are plenty of hotels in Palm Springs that welcome pets and actually care about their guests instead of hiding behind policies after taking your money.

This experience completely ruined the beginning of our trip, and I won’t ever consider staying here again.

Be warned before you book.

The absolute highlight of our 3 week Cali Roadtrip!
Pros:

The hotel perfectly matches the mid century vibe of Palm Springs. We spent 3 days and 2 nights there as the most important stop of our California road trip. The entire property of the hotel as well as the hotel experience itself surpassed our expectations. The pool is accessible all day and all night long so we were able to get a nice cool down after 10 hours of driving. Especially important to highlight is the staff. Dave the receptionist was super friendly, welcoming and it felt like we had known each other for months already. I proposed to my girlfriend near Palm Springs and not only did he provide me with helpful tips on where to go in advance but also was he very truly happy for us wich made our stay even more perfect.
