Incredible views and double aspect balcony room.
Evening meal was very good. as was the breakfast.
Shaky start .. view from room superb very suprised how worn the wooden furniture was.. First evening waiting at the bar witnessed a disagreement between bar staff and what I thought at the time was a member of the public. But is was a restaurant manager.. all over a dash of lemonade. Really unprofessional and they didnt care about customers being there. The following morning different manager a member of staff was asking them.a question...as we approached the sign to wait to be seated. The managers response very impatiently...just use your iniative. His whole demeanour was impatient and fed up. There were three tables ours included waiting for orders to be taken. We had been waiting quite sometime, I got up and walked towards himwas not really doing anything inparticurly, he looked up at me before I ecen opened my mouth and said I'm coming over now. Which strongly suggests he knew he should have taken our order...with a loud voice shouted to the other two tables I'm coming over to you all.
Very lucky for him the patrons were all very nice. Its an expensive hotel and people pay a lot of money really don't expect this behaviour.
The second night, just had a drink didnt want to be in a potentially hostile environment, howver it was very calm as was breakfast. Completely different experience, A lovely lady took our order, very timely, the breakfast manager seemed occupied talking to a group of ladies about where he was born.
.
Don't take your staff for granted or your customers!!
Good views will only take you so far
Not good.. My husband & I after a long walk decided to pop in for a coffee to enjoy the lovely view on Sunday morning around 10.45am. We were met with a waiter whos welcomed first words were “Not now!” In a very curt manner.. “We don’t open for lunch until 11am you’ll have to come back” In which we responded “we’re not looking for lunch just a coffee but with that welcome don’t bother”.
We would if been happy to wait.. if given that option.. and a much warmer welcome!
Breakfast was excellent
More variation re evening meal .asked for olives and you didn't have any .not good .was on the menu
The views and the friendly staff made our stay.
The rooms, including the furniture and the bathrooms are very dated.
Fantastic views over the Harbour & Sandbanks, really good location, lovely staff especially Brian who worked nights.
Nothing to moan about really , just few niggles: Bathroom bit dated but shower was very good , dust behind the coffee machine on the desk and cobwebs where you can put your suitcase on the wall , and air con could do with a clean as vent was dusty , if it had been TV programme 4 in a Bed it would have lost points.
Stunning views, appalling service and quality of drinks. A surly barman who didn't want to be there at all, served warm, flat lager. Huge queue at the bar. A real shame . His attitude was completely off. Never going back.
Vriendelijk personeel, airco
We vonden het voor de prijs een wat afgeleefde kamer, duurste verblijf van onze rondreis en minste kamer
The location is good, the View, the breakfast
There doesn’t seem to be anyone in charge in the evenings although the staff are pleasant they only seem to have one person on the bar most of the time and then they didn’t have a lot of the wines on the menu, nor did they have any oranges or limes to go with drinks/cocktails. They could take a lot more money if staff were going to the tables in the lounge and out on the terrace taking orders and getting drinks quicker to people instead of sometimes having to wait at 15 mins! The bedroom furniture is also looking a bit tired now, we have been a few times in the past here. Matt on reception was very good. And the new young waiters/waitresses were very polite and apologising for the delays.
The towels were big and fluffy
The hotel is very tired and needs to be upgraded. The room we had on the 3rd floor in the ceiling arches had very odd angled mirrors. The food at breakfast was terrible and there were not enough staff so they were trying their best but service was very slow.
Location
Large red stain on room carpet, some of the tile grout in the shower needed cleaning, and a corner of the bathroom flooring needed sticking.
Location , views from garden terrace, clean. Staff attentive and helpful particularly to our elderly parents who were with us and have mobility issues. Breakfast offer and service very good.
Some of the bedroom furniture is damaged, aged and needs replacing.
Didn’t like the Ibiza style music mix performance on the terrace Friday night. Not everyone’s cup of tea, and put us off staying in the bar area for more drinks.
Good menu choices in morning and evening. Room was nice with Balcony and view.
A small number of areas could do with a spruce up
Enough
Stop
View was excellent; tidy room; good evening food; staff friendly; we would go back
Breakfast not early enough for ferry departure
The view is amazing, they had a DJ on in the early evening, as well as a BBQ, which was an added bonus we weren't expecting. The staff were very friendly.
The rooms were very spacious but they are very tired. The décor needs re-doing, along with new furniture and fixings. The bathroom are also very old. The shower is over the bath with a shower curtain, we only stayed for one night so we didn't use the shower.
