The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was varied and the views are stunning.
Great breakfast and bonus that the restaurant has amazing views. Nice room with air-conditioning and pleasant view.
I was happy with the hotel
- breakfast was not tasty
- wasn’t allowed to have breakfast outside - the staff clearly designed the system to suit themselves not the paying guests
- parking wasn’t reserved for guests
We loved our stay at the hotel, We had a lovely view from our window and it was just a short 10 minute walk down to the beach! The food was great and the staff were all extremely friendly and easy to talk to. The view outside the back of the hotel is amazing especially around sunset and we loved watching the boats in the harbour.
There wasnt much choice on the menu for dinner or breakfast, the restaurant fills up very quickly so get there early!
This is a venue that potentially has everything you would require. The venue, views and terrace are great. Sadly, the attitude and service provided by some staff reflected very poorly on the hotel. On our recent visit, we ordered and were provided with incorrectly prepared cocktails. Having brought this to the notice of staff and requested correctly prepared drinks, to be told by poorly trained bar staff that ‘they are busy’ simply isn’t good enough - an attitude that delivering sub standard service when busy is somehow acceptable ? Great shame as other staff were very pleasant and helpful. Difficult to recommend to friends and colleagues on our latest experience but hopeful that an increased emphasis on customer service might improve matters.
Absolutely incredible views. Our room decor was very dated but the views were worth going for. Extra bonus points for being dog-friendly and for the staff having a helpful, friendly disposition. We also enjoyed an excellent dinner on the terrace.
Position
The staff were friendly, the hot breakfast options were good, and I enjoyed the terrace and the view.
The room wasn't cleaned thoroughly, and the room service could have been better. I also felt that the quality of the dinner didn't justify the price.
Loved the view across the estuary-breathtaking
When we arrived the back of the building was underwhelming but made the view of the estuary that more spectacular
Lovely hotel with a spectacular terrace. We got a warm, smiling welcome from the receptionist who was very helpful. Our room was ideal and the aircon was on full blast - it was the July heatwave so was really needed. The restaurant has a fantastic view out over the bay. The food was ok.
Restaurant service at dinner was slow and our waiter seemed more interested in what was happening elsewhere and had to come back to check our order again. Likewise with our bill, the manager didn’t seem to match our bill with our table. Quite disappointing as the service didn’t match the setting. Breakfast, however, was 5/5! A lovely welcome, smart service and really good food.
Amazing views
Handy location. Staff are so helpful!
The location is fabulous but……
We went for lunch. Lovely and cool with great views - however…….I rang to book a table and was told it wasn’t necessary. We arrived to be told all the best tables were reserved! The restaurant manager was unwelcoming to the point of being rude! The service was awful! Twice I got up to get a fork. One water came with ice and lemon after I specifically asked - did not arrive for my friend! Food was ‘ordinary’ and expensive. No non-alcoholic wine. We won’t be returning
Incredible views and double aspect balcony room.
Evening meal was very good. as was the breakfast.
Shaky start .. view from room superb very suprised how worn the wooden furniture was.. First evening waiting at the bar witnessed a disagreement between bar staff and what I thought at the time was a member of the public. But is was a restaurant manager.. all over a dash of lemonade. Really unprofessional and they didnt care about customers being there. The following morning different manager a member of staff was asking them.a question...as we approached the sign to wait to be seated. The managers response very impatiently...just use your iniative. His whole demeanour was impatient and fed up. There were three tables ours included waiting for orders to be taken. We had been waiting quite sometime, I got up and walked towards himwas not really doing anything inparticurly, he looked up at me before I ecen opened my mouth and said I'm coming over now. Which strongly suggests he knew he should have taken our order...with a loud voice shouted to the other two tables I'm coming over to you all.
Very lucky for him the patrons were all very nice. Its an expensive hotel and people pay a lot of money really don't expect this behaviour.
The second night, just had a drink didnt want to be in a potentially hostile environment, howver it was very calm as was breakfast. Completely different experience, A lovely lady took our order, very timely, the breakfast manager seemed occupied talking to a group of ladies about where he was born.
.
Don't take your staff for granted or your customers!!
Good views will only take you so far
Not good.. My husband & I after a long walk decided to pop in for a coffee to enjoy the lovely view on Sunday morning around 10.45am. We were met with a waiter whos welcomed first words were “Not now!” In a very curt manner.. “We don’t open for lunch until 11am you’ll have to come back” In which we responded “we’re not looking for lunch just a coffee but with that welcome don’t bother”.
We would if been happy to wait.. if given that option.. and a much warmer welcome!
