Mid-level hotel trying to be high-end.
Pros:

The room was clean, the water pressure in the shower was fantastic.

Cons:

Valet parking was ridiculously expensive, and no-one even bothered to greet us at the car - no off of help with luggage, no greeting when we walked in the door. Not a luxury/high-end hotel at all. Staff pleasant but nothing special. Lobby and uniforms tired. Lift is slow, furnishings are tired. Room seems under-done - only one pillow, only one towel, low grade tissues in the bathroom that take the skin off your nose, 1-ply toilet paper - low end trying to disguise itself as high-end. The air conditioning vent rattled intermittently like it was going to explode out of the wall. The casino walkway to the river is useful, but the carpeting, poor signage and casino itself just screams tacky. Tried to get a coffee in the hotel after going out for dinner (8.30pm) and they had nothing…. I mean… come on - can’t get a latte in Melbourne. Was directed to walk back to Crown food-hall, which was another 10minute walk back to where we had just been…..disappointing stay overall.

Overall the stay was great but spoiled by lack of a modern TV.
Pros:

Location was great and we did not order breakfast.
Room
Was clean and well presented. Staff were good and check in and check out went smoothly.

Cons:

The in room entertainment was very poor.
Old TV that had a frozen screen and the remote did not work.
For the relatively high price I expected much more. At least a Smart TV that allowed casting and streaming channels set up for guests.
I did request customer service and staff member did come to the room to assist. He confirmed there were problems and offered a replacement remote. This was not delivered.

The best part of a scary stressful weekend
Pros:

All staff I interacted with were lovely, this was a last minute booking as my aunt was admitted to The Alfred Hospital that day with life threatening injuries (thankfully she recovered) . So by the time I arrived to book in etc I was a tad flustered, but from the gentleman who parked my car in valet, (gave me a great tip about what was the best time to get my car in the morning without a long wait) to check in I felt so much better and the bed was amazing.
