Location! Staff!!
No dislike!!
This is a hidden mountain gem right at the base of one of the best ski resorts in the world. There’s a cosy fireplace right when you walk in, and the lodge feels are everywhere. Thanks to AndI and Josh for making check in easy and smooth (and cheerful!) and we even got to enjoy the hot tub (there are 4 of them!) after a day on the mountains. Another shout out to Brian and Hernan on the night staff who answered our questions and were like everyone else on property, friendly. We’re definitely coming back!
I stay here at MMI a few times every year and they are super convenient right by the gondola. Great staff as well, especially Hernan at the front desk, super helpful.
As always, a fantastic experience! Comfortable, slope side convenience, affordable. Like “Cheers” a place where everybody knows your name if you take a moment. Friendly helpful staff do everything possible to make every visit an enjoyable one. When the airline had a slight hiccup with my skis and gear, staff at MMI jumped in without hesitation to loan me their personal gear and get me on the slopes day one; whatever I needed including gloves and googles! Special shout-out to Victoria, Weston, and Ben! Thanks and see you again next year!
We love staying here for the location alone. The beds are always comfortable and I love that they have multiple jacuzzis in semi private covered patio areas. Staff and service has always been friendly and accommodating every time we come here.
Ski almost right up to the front doors.
A bit pricey for a Sunday night, but the location is why. Also wish they had microwaves in the rooms.
Mammoth Mountain Inn is about their staff! The ski valet attendants provided outstanding service, the front desk personnel were always helpful, and despite being understaffed, the wait staff at their restaurant was stressed but always obliging. One name stands out above the rest, however - the ubiquitous MOLLY! She was there at every turn - as bar tender during an extremely busy private function, but serving other patrons as well, moments later being at a lower level at the little store selling merchandise, and then working on their computer system in an attempt to resolve an error with the balance on a discount card! The smile never left her face!! To MOLLY, thanks for adding a brilliant star to our trip.
The hotel needs an update, and cleaning of the rooms was limited to making the bed, a daily change of towels and vacuuming of the very old carpeting. We aren’t sure that the tub was cleaned daily because it was stained. The hallways are dingy. At best, the rooms are what you’d expect in a 3.5 star hotel.
After all is said, the staff at Mammoth Mountain Inn is what makes a stay there worthwhile and if there is an option for a remodeled room or an upgrade, go for it!
The location can’t be more convenient. And their wonderful shuttle drivers will safely transport you to the village and back with just a phone call.
Despite being disappointed in the room, it goes without question that we would return.
The Mountain grooming was amazing with so little new snow. Excellent skiing. Recommend the snowmobile tour. Loved the Ski valets, especially Tom and the young man from Capetown South Africa. Weston McCarthy helped us many times with our boots and skis. The shuttle drivers and that program was very helpful. John Arnold was especially accommodating.
You can’t get any closer to the lifts than this! And front desk staff was way helpful, on the phone and in person. Hernan, who checked us in, made it a great start to the weekend.
The staff at the Mammoth Mountain Inn was fantastic.
Weston, Kamden and Thomas were very helpful with our ski equipment.
Tatiana was knowledgeable and helpful at the front desk.
Nate and all the servers at the Inn’s restaurant were accommodating and efficient.
“K” and Irwin at the snowmobile touring center were professional and friendly.
In fact, the entire on-mountain staff including the liftees were very helpful and friendly.
The accommodations were good but somewhat outdated. But the beds were comfortable and the showers were great. The hotel room service staff was friendly and responsive to our needs.
The only drawback to our stay was that various establishments at the resort’s base, like the Inn’s restaurant and general store, Yodler restaurant didn’t honor the IKON Pass discount. Each had a different excuse for not providing an IKON discount.
IKON advertises that the IKON Pass discount is available throughout the Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort.
Extremely simple and easy. Incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful staff. Hernan was absolutely the best. Affable, knowledgeable and really helpful
I stayed here in mid January and had a great time! My room was comfortable and everything worked perfectly. Being only 200-300 feet from the lifts was heavenly.
There is a team that stores your ski gear overnight and they bring it out promptly and accurately in the morning so you can put you boots and helmet on right there in the comfort of the lobby. The gear retrieval team, especially Weston, was unfailingly courteous and always in a good mood.
This was a team I had no problem tipping generously!
Every interaction I had with Mammoth Mountain Inn personnel was above and beyond. I'll be back next year!
First time at the Inn and I was so impressed! Our room had a little loft and an amazing view of the main chairs. What a beautiful spot. The room was so clean and comfy. The lodge bar and restaurant were great. We loved the pool and spa too. If you go and need any help at all Hernan is your man too. He made the check in so easy and when we called down to ask for some things he was kind and very helpful!
I was pleasantly surprised by my stay here. I usually come to Mammoth with a group of friends and we rent a house, but this time I was coming solo so I opted for the hotel. Mammoth inn is large, but it didn’t feel overwhelmingly so, or too corporate. It still maintains the cozy lodge feeling. I had dinner and a drink upstairs at the restaurant, which was great. Hernan checked me in, and told me that I could borrow some DVDs to watch, which I did. He also made me a new room key when I locked myself out. I very much enjoyed the convenience of my stay here and being so close to the slopes!
Ben is always so kind and professional doing his best to accommodate all of our needs when we come stay in Mammoth at the Mammoth Inn. We are always happy to see him, his smile and feel his warm welcome. Thank you Ben for making our stays here the best!
Ski in ski out and the best check in experience I’ve had in a very long time and I travel a LOT. After a long drive from LA, we were checking in with BEN at the front desk and told him this was originally booked for a couple. My friend experienced a recent break up, if there was anything he could do to get us 2 beds. Well we not only got a LOFT room with my own queen nook upstairs but my gf had her own king bed. It was so wonderful to be greeted with such kind hospitality. I will not forget our wonderful stay where we also got to stay in the main lodge building (also an upgrade) and everything Ben did to make our stay so wonderful. Thank you! We loved the onsite restaurant with a bar facing the slopes and didn’t need to leave the place. It was perfection. We will surely be back! Ben deserves a raise for ensuring guests are treated with utmost care and kindness. THANK YOU!
If you want to ski, this is a perfect location to stay, you can just walk to the lifts. The restaurant has decent food.
The rooms are in need of deep cleaning. The carpets in the facilities are so old and smelly.
This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had, especially given the high price Mammoth Mountain Inn charges. The rooms are noisy with paper-thin walls—you can hear guests walking, talking, and moving around all night long, making it nearly impossible to sleep. It honestly felt like people were walking inside my room.
The room itself is poorly maintained and outdated, with dirty, stained carpets and a bathroom that was not clean. Nothing felt refreshed or well cared for, which is unacceptable at this price point.
Breakfast was equally terrible. The food was cold, the omelet was tough and rubbery, and overall the quality was far below expectations—borderline inedible.
Between the noise, lack of cleanliness, outdated rooms, and overpriced rates, this place is absolutely not worth the money. I would not stay here again and do not recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable or restful stay.
I made a huge mistake and booked my stay for sept 1st but arrived in August. The man at the desk helped me fix that issue instead of making me go back to booking.com to fix it. Which was a MAJOR help. I was so tired after a long drive and was very happy he was able to help me. However, not only that--the man who checked me in also upgraded me to a bigger room because of MY mistake! They ran out of the smaller rooms I had requested and he upgraded me free of charge. I was happily shocked. I also loved that this Inn had a restaurant for breakfast and dinner. I also have to take medication with hot water after each meal and every single server was kind and willing to fill up my thermas with hot water. The view from the restaurant was also amazing. They are located in the perfect area! Would definitely stay again.
