Mammoth Mountain Inn

Friendly staff, esp at the front desk and the general store. Solid facilities located right at the slopes and Main Lodge. At checkin, the clerk was very helpful getting us into the right room. Really appreciated the free on-site parking!

Location and views

Just booking was a nightmare. The phone agents are scary outsourced people who will hang up on you, state they are the only person working at the Inn after you just talked to three other people, and ask things like, “Why are you asking questions you already know the answer to?” I think they are being scary because they are anonymous and in another country but it is very scary and unprofessional. Highly don’t recommend. Especially given the mice there.

Great time up here at mammoth mountain inn!! Room was great and hot tub was amazing! Check in was smooth and easy. Hernan was extremely helpful with telling me about the property and places to go . Will definitely be back!

We had a really nice time at Mammoth Mountain Inn. The family enjoyed staying so close to the lifts, and the employees on the mountain are delightfully pleasant without being sugary. Just chill!
Ben, at the front desk, was especially helpful as our condo had some issues with an unhooked appliance, as well as a stair tread that was unsafe. He got right on it, and even offered to move us to another condo. We had already unpacked, so we didn’t take the switch but appreciated their concern. Our unit was warm and comfortably furnished—rather too warm! Know that the units are not air conditioned, but some open windows helped.
The food was tasty ($$$) in the restaurants, and the overall ambiance was that of *real* skiers and snowboarders who love the snow. Not a spot for showy shallow influencer culture! Maybe the influencer types were there— I didn’t see them, but I saw genuinely active happy people just playing on the slopes and in the village.
The family would gladly go back to Mammoth anytime!

I have always chosen to stay at the Mammoth Mountain Inn for its excellent location and helpful staff, but during my recent visit, the service was truly exceptional.

In particular, I would like to recognize the receptionist, Brian. He went above and beyond to exceed my expectations and fulfill my request.

My family recently stayed at Mammoth Mountain Inn and the atmosphere, staff, and rooms were exceptional.

We encountered an issue from the onset of our stay that could have derailed our trip entirely. Hernan a front desk agent stepped in immediately with warmth and professionalism. He listened and resolved the situation quickly.

This is the kind of team member who elevates an entire property’s reputation. Mammoth Mountain Inn is lucky to have him, and he has strong potential to expand his role.

Hernan at the front desk from the moment we walked in was very welcoming and set the tone for our trip. He answered our questions with great knowledge and offered several recommendations on things to do and eateries in town which were all super helpful! The location of the Inn to access the mountain cannot be compared to other places we’ve stayed at before and the atmosphere was quaint and pleasant. The outdoor hot tub/pool area was clean and the views of the mountains were strikingly beautiful. The lodge area especially with the fire pit was quiet making it a great place to relax outside of the rooms in the evenings.

We had our wedding on the summit. All of the staff were amazing. The views were breathtaking. Special thanks for Amanda for the business end, Natalie who made our day perfect with her clockwork coordination, and Ben at the front desk for making sure we had everything we needed. Hands down the best memories were made here with family.

Always going to be my first choice of places to stay. Yes, it’s a bit dated- but it’s comfortable, warm and great food. Also the staff are caring and helpful. I’m really writing to give an enormous thank you to Tom E. and Tatiana. I had briefly left the hotel leaving my husband in the room. He has classic Alzheimer’s- fine in the morning but sundowners symptoms by later in the day. Except this time he was confused about where he was - at noon - and called the front desk. Tom and Tatiana were already working at calming him down when I arrived back. Above and beyond. Thank you.

Love the location of this hotel. Rooms are clean, proximity to the slopes is perfect, ski valet is amazing. I will always choose to stay here.

As you all know, exceptional accessibility to the slopes. Great service, dining facilities and ancillary services. As you know - please update the plumbing and restrooms in the rooms. Looooong overdue!!!

Hernan took great care of us, swapping our room at checkin, and making us feel very welcome. Mammoth Mountain Inn is our first choice to stay where we can just wake up and start skiing!

Dirty and tired. Rooms OK but Yodler hall carpet was filthy and I was bitten by bedbugs. Food service overburdened and disorganized. There is a restaurant space that isn't being used for some reason and it was hard to get anything to eat. You are miles from town so the Inn is the only food available. I struggled to get silverware to eat with at bar where staff was so frantic to serve the crowd that I hesitated to ask for anything. Room at main Inn building was better than Yodler but still looked like it hadn't been redone since 1970. No one ever responded to my complaint about bedbugs. Staff were nice people doing their best under difficult circumstances.

The ski check valet, Weston, provided unsurpassed service. By the second day I didn't even have to tell my room number to retrieve my skis. He provided friendly updates on mountain conditions.
The hotel, Mammoth mountain inn, could use some updating. We were assigned The West Wing and it was convenient because the pool and hot tubs are in this building. However, the lampshades in the room were stained and broken, there's no light in the closet, there was obvious damage to the wall.
The complex itself is spread out. It was a 6-minute walk to the main building. Also, the ski valet will not take your poles. Don't forget them in your room. It's a long Trek back. On the morning that I forgot my poles, Weston offered to let me use some poles that he had in the storage room. This was very kind, but I did prefer my own poles. My roommate used the ski Butler rental service and again the service was excellent with the valet taking the skis and knowing exactly what to do for the pickup.
The buses stopped running at 5:00 p.m., but from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. The hotel provides a shuttle service, so you can have dinner in the village if you choose. Of course, if you have your own car, this will not be an issue for you.
Lift number 11, the beginner chair, is only about 200 to 300 ft from the lobby of the hotel, and the gondola is only another 50 ft farther. The hotel provided paper mountain maps so you could plan your day.
Choose this hotel if you are looking for excellent service. Everyone working here was very friendly and accommodating.
