Remodel the hotell

All was well.

We stayed 3 days. They were supposed to clean room every other day. They did not clean the room. Bed was squeezy. Bathroom door did not stay open and it made a noise whenever we opened or closed. We knew breakfast did not come with our stay which we were fine with. We did have breakfast one day. The kitchen did not seem well organized. It took a long time for us to get our meal. This hotel is located behind another hotel. You can see the hotel as you are getting off the highway but it took us a minute to realize our hotel was behind another. We had to make a uturn to get into the driveway.

The room was a little musty smelling when we first walked in.

It did not look like any Hilton I have stayed at before. The property felt very old overall and did not appear to have been renovated in a long time.
The elevator was extremely noisy and made me feel like it might break down while going up or down. Although there were smoke-free signs in the hallway, my room constantly smelled of cigarette smoke.
The entrance door to my room was also malfunctioning. On two separate occasions, I had to ask the staff for help because I could not get it to open.
This hotel did not meet the standards I expect from a Hilton. They should either renovate the property or remove the Hilton name from it.

They need to put some money back into their business, this hotel ..needs a refurbishing

Bathroom door does not stay open--had to prop open the door with my purse. Door is made to automatically close. There was no tea at the coffee bar in the room.

Property is not up-to-date. Lots of little things- closets that wouldn't close, missing hooks in bathroom, sinks that wouldn't drain, and missing ice bucket.
And for the cost - which is quite high due to what I assume is some proximity to NYC- there is no complimentary breakfast which was frustrating. Our family of five had breakfast elsewhere because $14 per person at a mid hotel is ridiculous.

We stayed on a non smoking floor and still could smell residual smoke. Probably not the staff or hotel’s fault.

Breakfast was a bit chaotic and confusing. Set up like a regular buffet with made to order eggs or waffles the staff seemed overwhelmed as they wanted to serve us like a resturant. It could be more efficient.

I booked the room through booking.com for a total cost of $180.69, and the hotel charged my credit card $247.74 and a minus $50 for a total cost of $197.74 for a 1 night stay of April 11 to April 12. Therefore I paid $17.05 more than the agreed upon price through booking.com. No printout was available through the clerk as I left. I was able to check out the invoice on an email after I arrived home. Their invoice of $197.74 matches what was charged to me on my credit card website. This situation of charging errors needs to be corrected! Also, when I first arrived, the clerk couldn't confirm the price of $180.69, and therefore I wasn't totally sure about my total cost until I arrived home again.
