A private beach cannot compensate for severely outdated rooms, poor maintenance and completely unjustifiable prices.
Pros:

The only real advantage of the hotel is its private beach and direct access to the sea. Unfortunately, even this was not enough to compensate for the overall condition of the hotel and the extremely poor value for money.

Cons:

Extremely disappointing and nowhere near the standard you would expect at this price. I paid around €1,400 for the night, and the condition of the room was simply unacceptable. The room was extremely worn and dated, despite being presented to me as renovated. I was shown other supposedly renovated rooms as alternatives, but their condition was hardly any better. It honestly felt as if these “renovations” had taken place decades ago.
The problem goes far beyond the room. The hotel feels neglected and poorly maintained throughout. Even the elevators look so old and worn that using them is an unpleasant experience. Cleanliness and general maintenance are also well below what I would expect from a hotel charging these prices. I eventually cancelled my stay and moved to Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo, paying only around €300 more. The difference was enormous: genuinely five-star accommodation, excellent service and a completely different level of comfort and quality.
In my opinion, Le Méridien Beach Plaza does not justify anything close to the rates it currently charges. Based on the actual condition of the property, I personally would not pay more than €250 per night for a room or junior suite, or around €300 for a suite. At €1,400 per night, the value for money is simply unacceptable. At its current level of maintenance, the hotel feels closer to a two- or three-star property than the four-star hotel it claims to be.

I would not recommend paying premium Monaco prices for this hotel until it undergoes a genuine and comprehensive renovation.
