Very disappointing hotel weekend
Pros:

On arrival at the hotel there were no available parking spaces, we realise it’s on a first come first served basis, but all spaces were taken by Mini owners & spare spaces were reserved with traffic cones for Mini owners, on a Mini owners function at the hotel. This is particularly unacceptable to reserve spaces when out. Preventing other hotel guest using the car park.
We quickly noticed that several lightbulbs had blown in the hotels main neon sign, the steps, entrance door, plants pots (all dead plants) were all shabby. Front outside swimming pool & outside furniture were disgusting. Although clearly not used in February.
We were greeted in reception, & immediately asked to preorder our evening meal. But not told any details of breakfast times by staff member. We went to our room, 360, via a shabby lift. The room was small, with a sea view from a tiny window, in a little alcove. The room was very poor, wall cracks, peeling paint & rucked up carpet & an older style pocket sprung mattress. The positive points, we had charger points, large mirror, tea/ coffee & kettle.
The room was hot & on opening the window, we found the catch was not fixed correctly. ( only 1 screw holding it on.)
We went to dinner and although several staff were running around, service was very slow. The waitress dropped a plate on our table & laughed. Clearly a nervous laugh. Our Groupon deal included a 3 course meal, I had 4 battered calamari rings, with a side salad, it was poor & consisted of basic bag salad, 1 slice of unripe tomato & 2 slices of cucumber & a tiny disposable pot of thousand island dressing.
My Husband had tomato soup, which was ok with a bread roll.
The 2 cod main courses were acceptable, but served with unacceptable carrots & over boiled Brussel sprouts - a very odd side dish with cod. Followed by “mixed” fruit salad - a small metal bowl of melon pieces only & a sticky toffee pudding. We were told we could not be served drinks at our table, this seemed extremely odd, so we drank the supplied tap water.
On returning to our room we found the shower water pressure to be absolutely dismal, virtually just dripping out & both sink taps were wobbly. We went to bed feeling very disappointed.
During the night I got up for water & both taps were running warm water.
In the morning, we reported the faulty window latch & the lack of water from
the shower. To give them credit, a maintenance man was sent immediately, he fixed the window of sorts & attempted the shower, by replacing the shower head. But this made no difference. Nothing more was done.
Breakfast was acceptable on both mornings, with the usual selection available. All edible, but quickly ran out of bacon & eggs by 9am, & staff very slow to replenish. So we went without. The dining room windowsills & blinds are absolutely filthy.
The whole hotel is very shabby, paint chipped, miss-matched carpets on stairways, seating areas are very poor, dirty chairs & floors, broken artificial plants etc.
During the afternoon we used the spa, ( the pool is in the sister hotel next door) which is also shabby, the lockers in ladies changing room failed to lock. The pool was cold & the tiling & general cleanliness was poor. The sauna used by my Husband was not hot enough. And the shower in the changing area was dangerously hot & uncontrollable.
Once back in the hotel, we used our supplied laminated voucher for tea & cake. There was no cake choice. One type of cake on the bar, containing dried fruit, which I can’t eat. So no cake choice for me. Very poor.
We ordered bar food, which took half an hour for a panini & had to be chased up but was nice once it arrived.
We then went for our prebooked 2 x 25 minute massages, ( included in the Groupon deal) The ladies were called Ella & Michela. And both were very good at their job, and I commented it was one of the best ( firm) massages I’d ever had. And my Husband agreed. It was the best part of the Groupon deal, and the only thing good about the hotel. We’ve had many massages in many hotels & counties to compare it too. So credit where credit is due.
Our 2nd evening meal was just acceptable. A cauliflower soup & a hot smoked salmon starter, but poor salad again, 2 main courses of beef & roast potatoes with Yorkshire pudding , served with cabbage & ( more) cauliflower. A cheesecake & a chocolate brownie. ( we took our own drinks to the table.) But the dining room was very cold.
We once again attempted showering in our room, without much success.
All in all a very disappointing hotel. Probably the worst hotel we’ve stayed in for many years.
Definitely will not return or recommend.

Decent room for price.
Pros:

Room was spacious and clean and had been recently decorated.
Hotel was old and a little tired but you could see that improvements were being made.

We didn’t try the restaurant . Ate elsewhere.
There is an indoor pool in the hotel next door which is FOC.

An Unforgettable Day at Ocean Beach Hotel & Spa
Pros:

We recently held our gender reveal at Ocean Beach Hotel & Spa and it was such a lovely experience from start to finish.
The setting was beautiful and created the perfect atmosphere for such a special moment for our family.

The staff were incredibly professional, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly.
They were friendly, well-organised, and genuinely cared about making the event memorable for us.
Nothing felt rushed, and we felt completely looked after throughout.

It was a day we’ll always treasure, and Ocean Beach Hotel & Spa played a big part in that.
I would highly recommend this venue for special occasions truly a wonderful experience.

DONT GO HERE
Pros:

Booked half board package for 2 days including massage.

Tried 4 rooms before we found one that was acceptable. Had to bleed radiator and include an electrical fire. Did however have a nice view of the sea.

Downstairs lobby and lounge was frankly disgraceful. Struggled to find any chair that wasn’t either stained, threadbare or ripped.
Decoration throughout common areas were slapped on paint.

Evening meal was worse than school dinners. Main course was over cooked fish with spouts so over boiled they were grey. This also does not work well as a combination. The pudding was apple sponge which was undercooked and inedible. Fed back our views but informed that no other guests had complained. Impossible to believe.

Was told on second night that we would have same chef on second night so we went outside the hotel for a meal.

Also had my first ever massage which was very painful. When I got back to my bedroom my wife observed multiple scratch marks along my shoulder blades. When we complained to the manager we were told despite the masseur having done many other clients nobody had complained.

Very disappointing visit.

Reasonable but could do with work
Pros:

Lovely location view of the beach.
Unfortunately when we arrived there was only 1 person who was checking people in and manning the bar / cafe area. This was quite frustrating and started the stay on a bad note.

The room was okay but the pipe work and toilet were VERY noisy and we couldn’t flush the toilet overnight as made VERY LOUD groaning noises!

Don’t bother booking this hotel!
Pros:

Turned up to enjoy a relaxing spa break - however on arrival tried to get a drink, which took 10 minutes to be served (and I was the only one waiting). The hotel restaurant wasn’t open and when ordering our complimentary tea and cake the tea arrived but no cake. The spa facilities are not available and have just found out it’s £20 to park! and the reception toilets are out of order💩! Just booked in to somewhere else!!!

Not a good experience really
Pros:

Sadly, my room wasnt great, pretty run down, the worst issue being i had to have a cold shower that barely worked due to being so scaled up, and then there was the flat beer at the bar.

good service poor breakfast
Pros:

We stayed on a winter escape deal and were very pleased with the staff especially Luke who went out of his way to accommodate us. However we were disappointed with the breakfast which was not up to their usual standard, maybe
this was because there was so few guests staying here in December.

The pros and cons
Pros:

We purchased the winter package which comprised of: coffee and cake, spa treatment, 3 course meal and breakfast. We chose the superior sea view room and pre ordered wine.

Firstly we were never offered coffee or cake. The dinner menu was very limited (3 or 4 dishes) and the wine in our room was the wrong wine (i ordered red not rose prosecco). The shower head needed a clean with only 3 of the sprays working until we cleaned it ourselves and the coffee / tea in the room was undrinkable. The spa could do with having more staff, when we arrived for our appointment we felt like we must have the wrong day as it was empty except for a large number of used water glasses and coffee cups.

That said its a 3 star and we didnt pay a great deal. The room was large, nicely maintained and included a fridge. The wifi worked well and all the rooms and communal areas were lovely and toasty. The food menu although limited turned out to be excellent (we had sausage with mash and a quiche). The spa treatment once we established we did have the right day and time, was truely amazing. Breakfast was delcious and i was especially happy to see decent sized juice glasses not the usual ridiculous shot glasses they give you for fruit juice. All staff were lovely and welcoming and i cannot praise them enough.

All in all we would stay again but bring our own coffee. For the price we paid it was better than expected.

Rubbish give a wide birth.
Pros:

Give a wide birth.
Arrived only one lift which fits 3 only when coach in you wait for ages.
Got to room, well iron marks on floor, toilet floor stained , wardrobe door hanging off bits missing on doors, bed a large single could just about get in, windows did not fit wind blowing through , cold a small radiator.
Shower trickle TV hit and miss. Down in lounge chairs filthy and ripped.
Entertainment to loud, drinks over priced .
Food breakfast cold and basic,
Not suitable for disabled.
Expensive crap.
Some of our group charged for more than they received.
Service charge on most things including papers .
Some of our party had a 3rd floor even when they had a Walker. Cheaper to go to Warners . And better value.
God knows if there was a fire and lots of elderly had to get down stairs . Drab dark decor.

Excellent 2 week trip
Pros:

I have been going to the hotel for 8 years, 3 trips a year for a whist holiday.

The staff are always friendly & helpful.

There is plenty of parking & more parking in the adjacent sister hotels.

You can use the facilities of the 3 adjacent hotels from the same chain.

The rooms have everything I needed for my stay & they are maintained every day.

There is a hotel restaurant & also an Italian restaurant in the reception & bar area.

The hotel has a ball/conference room where we played cards with 70 players.

Higly competitive prices.

Well worth a visit.

Pros:

Stayed here as a ‘budget’ option for an unexpected visit, didn’t realise I’d be slapped with a £12 parking fee per night. Was merely told it was on the booking, which it wasn’t. The place is quite in need of some TLC but again, budget. The room itself was okay, clean bed, decent bathroom. But the walls are PAPER THIN, if you find yourself next to some loud night owls, don’t expect to sleep at all. The hotel itself is fine other than parking and a bit tired looking but unfortunately the next door guests made the entire night unbearable, so, poor experience.

Pros:

My room was on the 3rd floor, but, as the lift was broken, I was moved to Room 7, on the ground floor.
On my last night, there was no electricity at all. Fortunately, I had a torch.
There was no electricity on Sunday morning when I woke up.
At breakfast, the oven was on late, so I missed out on the full English breakfast.
The staff offered me a room on the 4th floor on the Saturday night, which I turned down, as it was on the 4th floor, and the lift wasn’t working.
The staff did provide me with a sandwich and a pot of hot water which I appreciated.

Hotel Transylvania
Pros:

Booked this hotel as I was recently working out of Bournemouth airport. On arrival I was charged an extra 36 pounds for parking!! I was then given a room for a single person which was utterly disgraceful. Stains on curtains, dirty wardrobe and bedding. Burnt iron mark on carpet. Windows filthy. I didn’t stay as I didn’t feel safe!! I left with the receptionist saying I need to contact booking.com for a refund. I wouldn’t let my dog stay here!! PLEASE DO NOT BOOK

Amazing sea views.
Pros:

Amazing sea views from my room, with everything very nice and clean. Lovely breakfast. Excellent service and care from staff. Good value for money. I would have given 5 stars if the lift had been in order during my stay.
