The municipality of The Hague and HTM are working on more than 25 areas in the city of The Hague in order to make the public transport more accessible and safer bicycle tracks. Therefore work will be done during these coming months. This is planned from June to November 2022. Works will be done between 06:30 and 16:00 on weekdays. During this period, guests may experience some disturbances and our sincere apologies for the inconvenience.

Location, room layout, coffee lounge
I've stayed at this hotel twice and I'd like to repeat the experience a third time. The rooms are clean, the hotel's location is fantastic, and the rooms make you feel comfortable. I highly recommend it, especially if you have work in the city center, as the distance between the hotel and the train station is very enjoyable if you, like me, love walking.
De stijl en de locatie
De locatie was prima, loopafstand van de stad. Genoeg restaurantjes in de buurt en een grote supermarkt.
Het was erg gehorig.
The location was central and easy to find.
This stay was so bad that I left in the middle of the night to crash on a friend's couch instead. The noise levels were unbearable.
The hotel is just a refurbished old townhouse. There's no lift, you are invited to drag your luggage up a gangly wooden staircase. Floors creak and you can hear the people in the room next to you put their phone on the table because the walls carry sound. Conversations are almost audible, so was the couple next door's nightly activities. Doorslams from the ground floor travel all the way up the top floor.
The worst is the tram, that runs every 10 minutes under your window. Earplugs don't help against that one as the sound moves through the walls and shakes you awake. Avoid the small single room at all costs.
Also, said small single room is more or less the size of a monk's cell. Single bed, mini table, and a shower-toilet-sink combo that you have to slide through to get to your bed. I'm tall so when sitting on the loo my knees bumped into the shower. Might have been ok at a lower price, but I paid actual hotel, double room money for this, which is unacceptable. It's hostel private room comfort at Ibis / Mercure Hotel prices.
The hotel also doesn't have 24h reception. After a certain time, you're on your own. Sure you get links and a box where you should retrieve your card, but if you're not tech savvy, you're welcome to go cry on a street corner.

The staff were all lovely
The rooms were not particularly sound proofed. The bed was too soft for me, but I know that is personal.
