Location
Breakfast was quite poor food left under hot lights and taste less did cook some fried eggs when asked .
Having to pay for parking overnight also poor (£24) and also poor having to pay extra £10 to use the pool made the stay not great Value for Money
The hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from the pedestrian zone. If you’re a good walker, you can also reach the bay and the castle on foot.
The hotel is falling apart. We had booked a 60-square-meter luxury suite with a panoramic view—as a break from a long motorcycle tour and because my wife wasn’t feeling well.
The hotel staff couldn’t find a way to give my wife a quiet spot. We were given the room exactly at the earliest check-in time, not a minute earlier, with no alternative offer—instead, we had to wait three hours in the lobby.
Safety: Some of the automatic fire doors don’t close or are wedged open (e.g., in the underground parking garage).
We set aside a broken chair in the breakfast room (when lifting it, the armrest came off in our hands). We moved the chair to a separate spot and informed the staff. It was still there three days later.
Cleanliness:
The windows were so dirty and hadn’t been cleaned in months or years that all we could see were water droplets, a haze, and brownish film. The room had not been properly cleaned. The hotel management’s policy stipulates cleaning only every three days, but you can attach a tag to the door if you wish for it more frequently—yet it still isn’t cleaned. When we requested this at the front desk, we returned in the evening to find only the bed made and the toilets cleaned; additionally, a stack of towels had been left in the bathroom. No toilet brushes in the bathrooms?!
The breakfast room looks terrible unless you arrive very early. Whatever falls on the floor is left there. The staff doesn’t pick it up either; instead, they step on it. The coffee machines also look constantly smudged and aren’t cleaned in between uses. The tables are only wiped down superficially after use: we observed that one rag is enough for 10 tables, without rinsing it out in between. Garage: filthy, Litter in front of the Hotel at any time.
The soccer-watching bartender doesn’t cover his mouth with a tissue or his arm when he has to sneeze.
Bed: creeks and sagging undersized topper couldn't save it. No glasses for the soft drinks. No refilling of coffee and tee. ...
Like the location and convenience. Room is a good size, easy to WhatsApp the staff.
Didn't like booking a double room and having single mattresses. Which didnt make for a comfortable sleep.
The spa
I asked for petel balloon decoration paid for it and I never had it I had to go back down stairs to tell them and then they put 1 balloon in the hotel room £16.95 for one balloon is ridiculous
Todo bien
Size of room, large bed
We had to pay £48 to park car
The pool and the bath. Location was great.
Railway a bit intrusive on my side of the building but I slept well enough.
Rooms are same as we remember we’ve stayed many times before and clean and tidy and comfy beds
When we used to stay spa was included and after asking to pay cash for a last minute booking despite the system allowing me to select pay at property and never once advising me a holding deposit would be required I had to pay a holding deposit worth more than the booking itself!
Staff were extremely rude about it and tried to advise they weren’t able to give an email confirmation to agree that upon inspection of the room after checkout that the deposit would be refundable just expected me to hand over the cash and hope I’d get it back
Then next morning told that it was £25 per person just to use the spa facilities and was insulted when they said as a good will gesture as we were staying at the hotel they could give us a discounted rate of £10 per person when the prices of the hotel have gone up significantly the rooms are exactly the same as before and all facilities are taken away not to mention breakfast is now nearly £40 extra aswell so one nights stay would’ve cost us well over £200 for a standard weekend not a weekend where there was a big event ….. a lot of money to pay when before new ownership prices used to be less than half and you’d have faculties like spa included fair enough breakfast extra cost but it’s a spa hotel…. People should be allowed to use the facilities in the price I’m sorry especially when nearly doubling cost.
The room was on a high floor.
Customer Service team from start to finish were poor. Not very approachable and not eager to help. Quite blunt in their replies. The room was a little outdated but still nice.
room size. very large bed,(two together) good size
more coffee-tea-juice-milk
pool could be free if stay.
