There was so much about this hotel that we truly loved! The room was spacious, the bath was as well. The turn-down service was such a nice touch with the fresh cookies (Greek butter cookies!!) every night along with fresh bottles of water. The staff was very accomodating and welcoming too. Each morning the availability to have coffee, fresh squeezed juices, fruit and pastries down the hall from our room, without having to go to the lobby, was fantastic!. My favorite was the carrot muffin - delicious and moist! All the little things were very nice and appreciated. The rooftop pool and bar were a nice escape when the weather warmed up. Great view for the sunset!
With all that was great, there were only small things that were on the downside. One was the air conditioning which never seemed to keep the room cold. I tend to need a cold room to sleep....so this could just be a preference to me. I actually went and purchased a fan to help circulate the air. At times, the AC would either be turned to a warmer temp while we were out or it automatically did this and we would return to a warm room, which then took a long time to cool back off.
Additionally, we had to wait for nearly 25 minutes for our car from the valet which just appeared that they forgot to go get it.
The biggest disappointment was the dinner at the in house restaurant which was not that awesome. While listed as one of America's best steakhouse, we were sad to be served our steak which was overcooked, and while still tasty it was more to the Medium Well vs. Medium Rare. The server did not offer to exchange so we just made due. Ultimately the meal was underwhelming overall.

I loved every single thing about this hotel.
Very nice room with comfortable beds, little touches of luxury everywhere. We loved the coffee, fruit and pastries/cookies in the halls of every floor! The entire staff was welcoming and ready to assist with any need. And of course, the location cannot be beat. We could walk anywhere we wanted to quite easily within the historic downtown area.
Nothing at all to complain about.
The staff was incredibly kind and helpful - Theresa answered us with all our queries and made us feel right at home. The bedrooms were spacious with a beautiful bathroom. Everything was really clean and we loved the bed and crisp bedsheets. The delicious coffee in the mornings, fruit and pastries available throughout the day, and turn down service were a wonderful little touch reminiscent of old school luxury hotels which have become a rarity. Overall we absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait to come back.
Great hotel and especially great service
I want to especially thank Theresean Cassie who took care of our utmost needs during our amazing stay
We stayed at the Market Pavilion Hotel for a family wedding and it was a perfect experience! The hotel is “old world elegant” and the service was above and beyond expectations. The front desk staff, Theresan and Cassie, were so accommodating, and from the valet, Danny, to Sybil in housekeeping, we could not have asked for friendlier or more professional staff. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed was very comfortable, and I highly recommend this hotel.
Everyone was super nice! The place was spotless. I love the fresh pastries and fruit and coffee setup in the hallways on each floor.
The staff was very kind and attentive. The hotel was beautiful and our room was clean and spacious. We love the breakfast pastries & the mid-day cookies. The rooftop bar was very neat, along with the roof top pool. The bartender Clark was the best, you have to try their nitrotini! Overall, we loved our stay and will be back!
We loved everything!

The Market Pavilion is a beautiful hotel - beautifully appointed, and luxurious. We were treated like a king and queen. The room was large. The bed was comfortable. The spoiled us with fresh brewed coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice each morning.
The location is excellent - right on the corner of Market and East Bay Streets, right across the street from the US Customs House. We were within walking distance from every site on the Peninsula.
The rooftop bar and pool were especially picturesque . . . sipping cocktails while watching the sun go down, the Cooper River bridge, Patriot's Point and the steeples of St. Michaels and St. Philips in view.
Theresan, our concierge, was exceptionally professional, helpful and friendly and far exceeded our expectations.
This is where we will stay on all future trips to Charleston.
The hotel was absolutely stunning! Classic, historic yet modern!
I did not know the balconies were under construction. That was a let down. I would have probably booked elsewhere. Nevertheless, I had a wonderful experience.
Service was amazing ! We felt at home !
