Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars

Great location, up to 30 mins walk to most places around London, just across the road from a tube and train station and a short walking distance from bus stations. There's a cute pub across the street. The room was clean and spacious, nice shower. The bed could have been less soft, but overall great hotel.

The receptionist was absolutely terrible. Exceptionally arrogant and entitled for the reasons which only she can explain.
Not recommended to anyone.

Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars was in a perfect location: across from the tube and coffee shops and the staff was excellent, anticipated needs, and extremely pleasant and helpful! When we arrived there was a personalized note and macaroons waiting for us!

Lovely hotel, clean with updated spacious rooms. Bathroom shower was large not like typical European showers which can be tiny. Staff was wonderful. Breakfast was good. Close to tube for circle and district lines.

A great value for money given the location, staff and the room size for the hotel in London. It is just across the street from the underground stop, but also very walkable to many of the main London’s attractions. Safe and very nice neighbourhood next to many great restaurants (including in the hotel itself), pubs and cafes. The staff was truly amazing - attentive, efficient and very client-oriented. Without even mentioning it, the team made our stay very special and as easy as possible. Great breakfast buffet, beautiful lobby and spacious shower rooms. Very comfortable beds too!

The hotel infrastructure and location are among the best I have experienced in London but the service was a major letdown.

My arrival experience was honestly the worst I have ever had. When I stopped by at 7:40 AM on June 12 to drop off my bags the staff member at the reception did not even look at me. There was no greeting or smile just an immediate demand for my ID. It is hard to believe this is acceptable in the service industry. I would suggest management checks the security footage from that morning. I faced a similarly cold attitude at the elite member check in counter later that afternoon.

To be fair another staff member at checkout was professional and warm which salvaged some of my impression. It seems like a training issue with specific staff rather than a systemic problem with the hotel.

There were other service gaps too. I arrived at the restaurant right when it opened at 7:00 AM but there was no one to seat me and several serving dishes were missing utensils. To make matters worse staff were dropping off feedback forms on our tables while we were still eating and they actually required me to write down my name and room number. That is not how you collect feedback.

Finally the lounge policy during happy hour is problematic. There were unsupervised children playing near the entrance and throughout the lounge where alcohol is served. Most high end hotels either have age restrictions or separate areas during happy hour but it seems this property has no such policy in place.

Ultimately while the modern facility and location are big pluses the inconsistent service in the lounge and restaurant really impacted my stay. I hope this feedback leads to better staff training and clearer operational policies.

We had an excellent stay! Perfect location to walk to sites and the tube. Great hospitality. Will stay here again!

Very conveniently situated for exploring London. Comfortable and spacious accommodation.

Our family of 4 stayed at the hotel for 3 night. We were not overly impressed.

The hotel itself although good is a bit too shabby to be called 5 star. Guest services were a mixed bag depending on the person you get. We got wrong advice a few times. I would expect overall to be better trained as a team to help travellers.

Restaurant staff wasn’t very competent. During brunch plates and glasses were often missing and not refilled despite a lot of service people floating around. Dinner servers were incompetent.

Management needs to do a better job training and rooms should be kept up to date on painting and water and tear. It’s a good 4 star hotel but falls very short of 5 stars.
