Highly recommended!
Excellent location across the street from a beautiful park and minutes on foot to two subway stations, El Corte Ingles shopping center, the great Gulbenkian museum and park, and numerous attractions. The staff was very helpful and the room tidy and comfortable though a bit small in US terms. I defended recommend it.
The hotel is quite basic in both room and subsidiary facilities.
The bathroom was very compact and had signs of ageing ( peeling ceiling/ mirror backing gone) and was poorly laid out.
Room ok but single beds were tight if you are 6’ or more.
No tea / coffee in room facilities and a small basic tv.
Breakfast was buffet style but wasn’t particularly extensive in choice, and I fell foul of a carafe of fresh milk that had turned. Breakfast room staff did replace it but not before I’d spoilt one breakfast and drink with it and overall it demonstrated poor quality control / checks from the kitchen. There is no restaurant so guessing that breakfast is simply wheeled out from day to day.
The hotel is right on the parque and had good metro connections for getting into town, but to be fair it’s a very easy and pleasant walk to town.
Has a small fitness area on the roof but the pictures are a bit flattering of the reality.
The area in general is safe and clean and several much larger hotels are in close proximity.
It just seemed that the hotel hadn’t put a lot of effort into selling itself or generating repeat business, but it served the purpose for what was required over our 3 night stay and has plenty around it to fill the days and evenings
Location was great, good breakfast included.
Beautiful location across from the park. The room was small, quiet, and needs renovating. The staff was pleasant and very professional. I would definitely stay here again.
Great property samwell is an asset
This is a perfectly located hotel for exploring the beautiful city of Lisbon. The hotel is located close to Parque on the blue line of the metro (10 mins from the baixa-Chiado).
The hotel room was a little dated but don’t let this put you off! The beds are comfy and breakfast was lovely offering a good selection. The reception staff were helpful and housekeeping/breakfast staff friendly.
Hotel reception are extremely friendly and helpful, location is fantastic and walking distance to everything and the bolt bikes are very local to find!
The only issue we would say is that the hallways are dark and the bathrooms smell of drains but otherwise, our rooms were cleaned daily and new fresh towels everyday.
The Hotel is situated in a good location only 15 minutes from airport which taxi cost is from 16 to 20 € . A beautiful park is across the street. Three restaurants with delicious food and of course sangria to complement your meal . If you need to shop you have the metro and and busses , available to you . We had a great time
After reading the latest reviews we were a little concerned about the hotel we booked. However, for us it was ideal location not far from the metro stops to travel into the city. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and fairly quiet apart from flights. Staff were polite and helpful with our requirements. The hotel is due to close soon for a major refurbishment and take over by Marriot, I understand. I guess the prices will increase. Overall a good location if you don't mind a little walking. Close to the Marques de Pombal and Eduardo Parque.
Read reviews online and recognised there were differences in opinion but we were very happy with our stay.
Our room was quite large and not even the largest on our floor. Beautiful view over the park.
Breakfast was great. Hot options included scrambled eggs, mixed vegetables every day with either sausage or bacon. Cold options included selection of breads, sliced meat, cheese, yoghurt, cereal and pastries.
There were metro stations less than 5 mins walk uphill or 10 mins downhill. We found 3 restaurants, 3 mins downhill for everyday meals with several more restaurants, shops and supermarkets in nearby streets.
The biggest differences in reviews concerned reception staff. We recognised the person described as rude but he wasn’t. He just didn’t understand the odd way people asked questions.
One tourist asked where the shops were, and he answered “Everywhere”. When asked for shops near the harbour he pointed out an area and when the tourist asked what was there, the receptionist appeared puzzled at the question and responded “Shops by the harbour, as you asked” 😊
While a little out of town, the hotel is close to the Parque metro station providing easy and regular access to the city and the airport. It’s in a quiet neighbourhood with a park opposite.
Inside the place is clean but dated, and very dimly lit.
Our first floor room was spacious with huge beds, good air-con, decent wardrobe space, and a large bathroom - a highlight being the shower. Rarely are hotel showers better than the one you have at home, but this was good.
Unfortunately, I think that’s about it for the rooms positives.
The pillows are travel-size tiny and uncomfortably soft. There are no coffee facilities and no irons. The bathroom door is frosted glass - not ideal when lit from the inside, so get comfortable with your companion.
Things don’t improve much beyond the room.
The majority of staff simply don’t want to know. We needed a spare towel after dropping one in the shower - the guy at reception made enough noise to let us know what an inconvenience we were when getting up to fetch one.
Don’t expect a greeting when you arrive from these guys, literally anyone could walk in unnoticed by this lot. The exception here was an older lady in a different uniform who we would see in the mornings, she was very kind.
The breakfast was okay - decent scrambled eggs, coffee, pastries and fruit, supported by cooked hotdog sausages, cheap cold cuts of meat and not-juice ‘juice’ from a machine. The bar was closed during our stay.
In summary, it’s an alright choice if you just need a base for exploring and a decent room to sleep in. But you could spend a little more and find yourself closer to the city with better facilities.
Basic breakfast but OK. Rooms and the bathrooms were small.
Good stuff, very helpful. Quiet rooms.
The room was super clean, the staff was lovely and it was right beside Parque metro station so everything was accessible. Also it was quiet. Perfect spot to visit Lisboa and surrounding.
.
Was nice hotel
Very close to downtown and quiet
Stayed here recently for 3 nights while away for my birthday with partner. Hotel a little soulless but not unpleasant. Good location for airport transfer and fairly central for some shops, restaurants etc but Uber needed for main centre of Lisbon. No issues with room/shower, if a little dated. Common areas quite poorly lit but bizarrely, they had a neon sign for restaurant. Breakfast was pretty average, quite cheap tasting but did the job. Staff were polite, no issues. Be warned - they don't have any iron/ironing boards in hotel and no solution offered. Overall hotel was ok.
Fantastic location, rooms are luxurious , clean and quiet.
Breakfast was lovely, I would definitely recommend a stay here.
A fantastic holiday all round.
We came here to the sardine festival in June which was amazing .
I would definitely stay again if visiting Lisbon again.
Our room faced the park which was lovely. Quiet enough. Hotel close to metro stop so easy to get to restaurants etc.
