Funktionelle Zimmer in gemütlicher und zentraler Lage
Pros:

Gute Lage, freundliches Personal. Kleine Zimmer aber oho!!!

Cons:

Die „Funivia“ hört man sehr gut. Eine bessere Verglasung wäre angebracht.

Awesome place, really close to train station if you know the funicular is there,
Pros:

Breakfast was simple but satisfactory. Location was great, would have been great to know that it was 20metres from the funicular. Makes it really close to the train station.
Breakfast staff were really friendly,

Cons:

Room was a little small. View was .... non-existent

Pros:

The lady at the reception was very nice and helpful. The bathroom was great.

Cons:

The pillow was terrible. The room was very dark and noisy. They charged me 15 euros to use the sauna.

Zweckmässiges, zentrales Hotel.
Pros:

Zweckmässiges Hotel, sehr zentral gelegen, freundliches Personal, gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Unsere Zimmer waren sehr ruhig gelegen (offenbar nicht auf der Seite der Standseilbahn)

Cons:

Die Zimmer sind etwas ringhörig. Etwas karges Interieur und viel Neonlicht im Zimmer und im Frühstückssaal.

Awesome, friendly hotel in a very beautiful city
Pros:

Right in the center of town, close to the train station and not too big.

The staff is extraordinarily friendly, helpful and endured my broken attempt at trying to speak Italian with grace. They were very adapt at switching to English at the end of my latin.

My room was good, right sized and clean. I was alone, one could sleep with two, but staying for more than 30 minutes with two in the room would quickly feel cramped. The hotel room is good, but should not be your destination in Lugano.

Breakfast is good, large room, great selection and again friendly staff.

The tourism tax is put to good use as you get a free public transportation pass for the city and if I understand correctly the Ticino region.

Cons:

I think it's an Italian thing but the room was very hot when I arrived (other venues as well), so I opened the windows. You can hear the funicular very well then, but it didn't bother me. With windows closed you can hear it, but it's a perk that's beneficial more than a nuisance.

The pillow was so fluffy I needed both pillows to have some headrest. I like sturdy pillows so your mileage may vary. The bed was comfortable though.

The corner room I got had a very small desk, so if you're unfortunate enough to have to work instead of walking through the beautiful town, that can be challenging and going to the entrance area or a cafe may be a better place
