All staff were particularly friendly and helpful (Drew on reception in particular needs a pat on the back).
As a real ale drinker I would have liked the option of something to drink apart from all the eurofizz lager.
All facilities were great. One of the top places we have stayed in the UK. Couldn't fault anything.
As our son lives nearby I am sure we will back!

First of all can I just say, the staff in this hotel are probably the nicest, and most respectful I have came across. We where given a complimentary late check out from Ellie at reception as we where not leaving till later on at night on day of departure so thank you. We also got upgraded to a suite in the mansion house just because, we didn’t ask the staff just done everything to make our stay unforgettable. The pool was lovely, clean and well maintained. Changing areas were lovely. The surroundings are just blissful. You could walk for hours on end around the estate and not get bored of the gorgeous sights and calming atmosphere. Benedict’s bar is nice for food, only thing I could suggest is possibly adjusting prices on the items in this bar as it can be quite spenny for smaller portions but still lovely food. As this estate is located well off the main road you cannot hear anything from cars passing, even with rooms next door you cannot hear other people or TVs on in rooms etc. The hotel was busy with a lot of conferences going on and I always felt the noise level was at a respectful level. The most peaceful trip I’ve had away in a long time. There is so much available on sight for food and drink. The breakfast was lovely. Buffet style. Hot food plus fresh fruit and pastries with a wide selection of juices and lovely coffees. Staff in the dining areas also are so pleasant and lovely. Really can’t complain. I also love the addition of the vending machine in the main reception area. It offers things like nurofen, phone chargers, earphones, playing cards and I think this makes up for a lack of a shop nearby. Hairdryer in room is great. Amazing penhaligons toiletries in the suite. Coffee and tea making facilities. Aircon in room along with heating. Bed is very comfy I wish there was maybe extra pillows in the room.

If you are celiac, do not come here. They cannot cater for you.

It all looks grand and check-in was very smooth. The room was freezing upon entry and the only light you can switch on is in the doorway or bathroom. The old lamps which have been replaced by standard 3 pin as opposed to old 5a round pin can NOT be switched on by the switches which are still there. The heating provided by small wall mounted electrical heaters, which when the power is off, are off! The heating in the entire building seems to be the same and all were turned off.
I was pleasantly surprised by breakfast which is excellent with a superb selection of fruits, overnight oats plus full English if that’s what your heart desires.
Unfortunately eating in the bar was not the same pleasure. The burger can best be described as “dull”!! The meat was grey, the chips tasted like they had been cooked 1st around 3 days ago and reheated, not even refried.
Overall very disappointing.
Oh and despite putting a do not enter sign on my door, the cleaner went in and emptied my bin but did nothing else!

First the good.
The staff especially Raj on reception, really helpful and friendly.
Rachel in the View restaurant as above.
Lovely pool, big well stocked bar and plenty of parking.
Lovely room but no bottled water.
Both evening meals were good.

The bad
Whats happened to the breakfast, the worst bacon ive tasted in a hotel. It was cheap undercooked streaky bacon, just awful. The potatoes were cold both mornings and no fried eggs because of some woke nonsense about not doing fried food .

Fantastic facilities, swimming pool and sauna were great and the view over the golf course from my room was just beautiful. Ellie in reception was most helpful. Thank you Ellie & the teanm

Stayed here for a black tie dinner and dance, lovely ambience with very efficient waiting and catering staff. Very helpful and professional reception staff. ( who were there at 2am when we eventually retired!)Nice quiet rooms finished to a high standard and all in beautiful surroundings.

Rachel and the team in the View Restaurant were great. They were attentive and the food they served was tasty and enjoyed by all. Would recommend the laid back atmosphere and freshly cooked food.

Very average. The room was clean, shower hot, service good. Good breakfast selection. A few small details like a dressing gown or proper mini bar would be beneficial. Pillows were very poor and the hotel was very noisy around 2am.

I’ve been staying at the Wokefield Estate for two nights a week for two years now.

The staff fantastic and always do the upmost to make my stay a home from home. A particular shout out for Tej, Ellie and her protege, Becky, but to be honest, all the front of house staff cannot do enough for you.

There are excellent rooms in the Main Hotel but my heart will always lie with the Mansion. The four poster bedroom suite is simply 😍🥰

The bar and restaurant staff are very friendly, the food has never disappointed and you’ve got a golf course and amazing grounds.

I love this hotel. I’ll miss it when my assignment finishes. The only thing that annoys me is when I can’t get rooms and have to stay somewhere else!

The fireworks display on Guy Fawkes is gorgeous too. 🎇

Beautiful place, rooms lovely and comfy. Food in restaurant was stunning

I was suprised at how friendly this hotel is to dogs. Our dog was allowed in almost every area of the hotel. They even brought a doggie bed, bowels and treat for her to the room!

Check in was easy- the staff are really nice and the area is really nice too. It’s situated on a golf course so there’s lots of nice scenery and there a a couple massive buildings. We asked to move to the building that had the pool and dining services as we had a child and it’s just easier and they were happy to accommodate. The mansion hotel building looks very scenic and something out of the 18th century.

We could only eat at the pub because we had our dog but it was decent food and nice staff. We had the breakfast buffet at the restaurant and it was really good. Good variety of food and drinks.

There is also a sauna which was another attraction for us. It was also nice there wasn’t limitations on kids pool times. We didn’t notice any kids being overly boisterous. Sadly didn’t make it to the gym but it looked nice!

Will be back in the summer.

Where do I start, from the moment we all arrived, the staff made us like valued guest. Check-in was smooth, and they went above and beyond to accommodate our parties early arrival – all 8 of us for NYE.
Every interaction was genuine and friendly, and the staff truly do give an exceptional service!
The team here are outstanding! Special mentions to Ivan, Bernadette, Arron, Domingo, Vanessa & Paul (at the bar) Honestly this hotel has the crème de la crème of staff who really do go above and beyond to ensure all guests needs are met. All of their professionalism was matched by their warmth, making us all feel completely welcome. We have stayed in many hotels, but this level of care is very rare.
What was most impressive is that the staff were not celebrating new year with their families but every single member of staff seemed to want to be there and ensure every guest had an amazing time.
Everything about this hotel is incredible, the grounds, the immaculate rooms, and the spotless dining areas but most of all the staff really do stand out, their attention to detail is impeccable.
It was about our 10th time at this hotel and the reason for that is the way you get looked after and every time we visit we know exactly what to expect – attentive friendly welcoming staff, a spotless stunning room, wonderful food and drinks and impressive grounds. What’s there not to love. We travel form Cornwall at least two – three times a year to visit this place and its worth it. We give it Five stars without hesitation!

An Unforgettable Wedding Celebration at Wokefield Estate

We recently held our daughter’s wedding party at the De Vere Wokefield Estate on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. From start to finish, the service was outstanding and the location was stunning.

The guest rooms were very large, clean, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable stay for everyone. The event setup was perfect, and the entire staff worked tirelessly to ensure everything ran smoothly.

We would like to give a special mention to Ivan, Bernadette, Olga, and Domingo, who looked after our party from beginning to end with incredible care. We also want to thank the Wedding and Event team for their meticulous planning and organization.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a top-tier venue. Thank you all for making this day so special!

Absolutely without doubt the best NYE event to attend. Caters for everyone in terms of customer service , food, entertainment and atmosphere. Wokefield….you nailed it!!!

What was a standout feature was the staff….reception, housekeeping, management , kitchen , waiting staff , bar staff, support staff….basically everyone involved in putting the event together …you guys made the event so a huge thank you!!

We had a wonderful NYE experience. It was my birthday and we and the kids enjoyed the family event. We would like to come back next year and bring friends along too. Children were really entertained and so were the adults. Good atmosphere and value. We had a lovely treat. The DJ was fab.

We had a fabulous nye dooo here for the second year running a group of 10 of us old friends from all over the country a good central location.
Although I must say a as a vegetarian the food this time was rubbish ( veg wellington was bubble and skeak in pastry. ) with no gravy was dreadful dry boring and indigestion nightmare! Hence I didn’t eat it. And my husband had the trio of beef also said it needed a sauce or. GRAVY,! And some vegetables 🤷‍♀️ why not supply extra veg? The sorbet was a waste of time urrrrrrrr don’t think any of our table eat it!
Mouse bounce at the start would have been better.

Our room 248 was v cold and condensation on the single pain windows dident resolve
Couldn’t get the room or bathroom warm enough to shower or sleep comfortably 🤷‍♀️ but alcohol did help at 2am !

What a brilliant evening! The staff could not have been kinder, better trained or more dedicated to ensuring everyone had a great time. It was a fantastic way to see in the New Year. Thank you. Whilst a few things in the rooms could have been a little better, the overall experience, care, attention and fun was definitely 5 star!!

Lovely stay, staff exceptional, high quality of food. We spent New Year's eve and attended the family friendly party and we all had a great time.
