It is literally on the beach.

Dated. Felt like it was cleaned with same dirty rags. Took my husband’s brute strength to open patio door. No rollers on patio door. Asked desk and said don’t open the door, the wind makes it hard to open and close. Dishwasher doesn’t work. More water came out of faucet then shower head. Knob was broken. Smelt like urine in several spots around room. Washed dishes before using them because cupboards were dirty. Will not stay there again. Pictures in ad are photo chopped. Never went barefoot on carpet because of urine smell. Couldn’t check out or would have lost money. Don’t stay there take your time and look around- believe bad reviews.
Outstanding room. Extremely clean. Laundry facility. Daily maid service. Balcony over looks Gulf of Mexico. All kitchen dishes and utensils to use for cooking in our room. Picture attached is the view from our 3rd floor private balcony.
Breakfast only served on Saturday and Sunday mornings and didn't begin until 8:00AM.

Location. The hotel is right on the beach with easy access to and from.
The hotel has paper thin walls. We could hear every moan and groan by the occupants of the room next door.
The location,the pool table, the area.
The room we got first had very dirty sheets, we didn't notice right away since we didn't get to sleep till later that night. We noticed late but once we let staff know they changed us to another room and it was clean.
The view was amazing & the balcony was a good size. There were activities down in the large lobby area where people played cards & games so it reflected a sense of community, probably as many Snowbirds spend a month or two here in the winter.
I wish there were chairs on the balcony. Also the enamel in the bathtub needed some touch up, as the worn areas made it look dirty (but the tub was clean).

Padre South is a great choice for a stay in South Padre Island, whether for just a night or a week. The staff is helpful and friendly and the rooms are clean.
It was located right off the beach access and you could simply just walk off the hotel and onto the beach.
The night we stayed was really windy and so you could hear the wind blowing so much so that it was a bit difficult to fall asleep.
Where it was located
The bed was uncomfortable, the facilities were old, the breakfast was store bought. No coffee maker or hairdryer in room, the shower faucet was very hard to change.

It was very good overall. Good location right by the beach. Very clean but they are in desperate need of new lounge chairs. 80% of them are completely ruined but still out by the pool.
My husband & I just spent a week at Padre South Hotel on the Beach. We appreciated welcoming staff, inviting lobby & pool area, easy access to the beach and our balcony with a view of the beach. Room was clean & spacious, with all the amenities we needed, and was affordable priced. Hotel was positioned with easy access to shops & restaurants, and just one block from busy main road.
Lovely room with a view of the gulf and walking boardwalk to the beach. Loved the couch and complete kitchen in the room as well. The balcony was perfect to watch the beach
