Cute place on the water. Friendly staff
This hotel is a gem, I try to stay here every year if I can. The complimentary cookies are absolutely worth enjoying. The room; jacuzzi, balcony and bed. Love having accommodations for my dog, this is the best place to bring your dog along to in my opinion. They have a great trail going along Montague and the hotel, and there are plenty of stocked dog waste bags and available trash cans along the way. Loved the view and the particular spot the hotel is located at.
Breakfast. When I travel, I travel around breakfast being complimentary or near my hotel. Luckily for me, we don't stay at this particular hotel annually for travel, but it does make breakfast difficult when there are very few solid dining options in Montague (I recommend Colby's Cafe in Whitehall for breakfast). The reason I complain is the inn has a pancake maker, but they had it out of order and either didn't communicate that to their night staff, or they false advertise them when people check in. I would've liked to know what to expect the night before - hence me sharing with everyone.
Aside from that, the shower is very small. It's a standing shower and their curtain blows against you. Shaving is very difficult so you're better off opening the curtain entirely. Since we had a jacuzzi room though, we got our relaxation elsewhere.
The only other complaint is Montague as a whole. It's such a beautiful town with so much potential, but you can just watch parts of it die. I'll continue to support it once a year, and I hope others do the same, but I'm not sure Montague will use any funds I contribute appropriately.
The staff was friendly, welcoming, and even allowed us to check in early when our plans changed. The rooms had everything we needed, including a refrigerator.
I cannot think of anything that I disliked. We enjoyed our stay even though it was only for one night. We will be back.
I liked the facility and the cleanliness and comfort were both above average. The staff was great very helpful and friendly. We had a great time thank you.
More food options other than breakfast.
Room and bed were very comfortable and quiet.
Staff was a little odd, not particularly smiling or welcoming. Breakfast was more like something you'd get at a Super8. There were certainly rooms with nice views in the hotel, but mine wasn't one of them: parking lot view.
Beautiful lake view, balcony, fireplace, jet tub
Thin walls could hear everything from ice machine, front desk and neighboring rooms, expected the jetted tubs to be loud but you could hear everything
View from our room was amazing and jacuzzi in room was perfect
Fuses for kitchen appliances kept going out, desk receptionist did reset breakers but failed to keep working right. Fiancee and I could not cook our dinner inside, had to cook outside. Cold and snowing weather was not fun
The rooms are amazing, cozy, and definitely makes it hard to leave!
Quite hour wasn't till midnight. There were kids left unattended jumping off the furniture in the room above us from the time we arrived till well past 10 pm, and when we asked staff to say something, they reminded us quite hr wasnt till midnight.
I love staying here anytime we travel to Michigan. It is within walking distance to a grocery store and local pub, have a jacuzzi tub in almost every room, and also allows our furry friends to travel with us.
I would not travel here with children if you have them. This is a very romantic hotel and sometimes you hear loud noises at nighttime from nearby rooms.
Breakfast great. Not ideal to have it between doors to rooms. Perhaps it could be personalized and more chairs added. Some parties have more than 2 members
More shelves/ space in bathroom to put stuff
