Overpriced, beautiful but very disappointing food spoilt the trip.
Pros:

The bed was comfortable and the castle and grounds were mainly nice.

Cons:

The food was overpriced and really below standard. We cancelled our dinner reservation for the second night as it was really bad. The interior particularly the spa is dated. We had to wait for literally 20 minutes to be shown to our room whereas we could have just been given a key. We have been before but sadly we won't come back after this trip.

Overall a wonderful special location and a great room, in much need of styling and food updating.
Pros:

The Room was really nice and comfortable, with amazing views. The lounges and hallways were very impressive in style and deco ( although not all areas, lots of very dated styling also in the building still)

Cons:

The coffee was terrible at breakfast, the breakfast was really basic for the price.
The brasserie was really expensive for the basic food and dessert options. Pana Cotta was a hard jelly, with a really weak and watery and bad strawberry puree.
The deco in some part of the hotel including the main dinning room are very dated, including dated glass signage everywhere in corridors including the reception. Some area in the corridors upstairs had really tacky cheap fake flowers in a vase.
The swimming pool needs updating in style, plus the swimming times for kids is too short not allowing them to swim after 5pm, should be atleast 6-6.30pm.
The kids play area is really far from the grounds. past the golf course! Also needs a bespoke room for the kids in the main lounges of the castle.

Ok but not as good as it used to be
Pros:

Location is great, nice views from room.

Cons:

No aircon, I know it’s an old building but they could add aircon units on roof. Pool needs renovating. Bedrooms aren’t up to scratch for 5* hotel (already raised with mgmt).

Mehr Schein als Sein. Kein 5 Sterne Hotel.
Pros:

Teilweise wirklich dilettantisches Verhalten.

Vakkert sted med flott natur.
Pros:

Fantastisk beliggenhet og arkitektur. Nydelig mat. Bra opplegg for aktiviteter. Fantastisk «mindfullness» tur rundt i området. Veldig bra kvalitet på restaurantene.

Cons:

Litt upersonlig og følelsen av «masse turisme». Litt preg av «golf hotell».
