Really enjoyed my stay at the Scenic. I was in Dunedin for the Masters Games and needed somewhere close to my sporting venue - the hotel was only ten minutes walk away, so it was ideal. I was slightly concerned about staying somewhere so central as I have trouble sleeping in noisy places, but the good double glazing and thickly carpeted corridors meant there was no sound from traffic or neighbouring guests. The hotel has an excellent restaurant (the best mushroom soup I've had in years!) but is also close to a great range of eating places covering all tastes and costs. The room was spotless, and didn't want for anything. The staff at reception were great - pleasant and knowledgeable, and nothing seemed to be any bother to them.
A first rate place to stay, and I will certainly go back if I'm in Dunedin again. The central position makes it perfect for all sorts of activity - shopping, museums, cultural activities, and just generally exploring the city.
Great location, excellent value for money, particularly when compared with the majority of the other accommodation in the city. Friendly staff, nice big room. Very easy check-in, check-out process.
