Filthy & Unsanitary, unless you like mold and paint chips......
Pros:

We typically stay at The Four Seasons, however there was no availability at the time of a last minute booking. The hotel had good reviews on Trip Advisor, however I am perplexed how these reviewers gave the hotel a rating of more than 1 star. Upon check in, we noticed the in room refrigerator was not working and the door would not close. Since we were in a rush to leave the room and attend a dinner, we advised the front desk and they assured it would be fixed. When we returned to the hotel, the refrigerator was not fixed, however it was apparent someone was in the room to check it. There were several dirty towels left on the floor directly in front of it and nothing was fixed. This was where the experience turned far worse.

I wanted to shower prior to going to slep and noticed the following; mold all along the base of the shower and it was quite evident this had not been cleaned properly in quite some time. In addition the water pressure was comical, it was on and off in spurts and the pressure went from low, to non existent. When i exited the shower, i noticed paint chips on the floor that were falling from the ceiling. the bathroom was essentially a health hazard and showed real neglect.

When I finally got into bed, we noticed the pillowcases were somewhat dirty and the overall feeling of the room was quite unsanitary.

In the morning we asked to speak to the hotel General manager or a manager on duty. Comically, we were told that there is no manager on duty until 1 pm on 12/26. We left a message for the GM and she never called us back. The Housekeeping Manager was alerted to our issue and offered to move us to a suite, which upon inspection by us had the same musty smell and mold in the shower. She shared with us that we would not be charged for the first night, however we did call the GM at the Four Seasons and they were able to accommodate us, thankfully.

The Kimpton General Manager should be ashamed of themself, not connecting with a guest that had a horrific experience, under conditions that are quite unsanitary.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! THE HOTEL IS FILTHY!!

Pros:

As soon as we step onto the property. We were instantly greeted by Ross. His customer service made our experience one of the best we’ve had . He went above and beyond to get us settled and recommended many places to try out for our first trip to here. And we tried all of them. I was not disappointed was anything. Our last day we were greeted again by Ross . My love husband texted the wrong number to get our vehicle ready for us . And Ross never received a message in the system. He politely explained explain to my husband the error he had made . But again Ross came through with his customer service and got us settled in a timely manner. I loved his enthusiasm. And we will de definitely be coming back.

Such a nice looking hotel. Such a shame.
Pros:

What a terrible shame. This is such a beautiful hotel, so quirky and interesting, and I was so excited to stay here.

I arrived with mobility equipment. Three bellmen stood outside the hotel, watched me struggle with my mobility equipment and my luggage, didn’t even bother to open the door. A homeless guy on the street open the door for me and held it.

Front desk staff was horribly rude. Restaurant staff kept me waiting for 2 hrs and couldn’t be bothered to apologize or even be nice. Yelled at me when I asked them to take the $60 charge off my bill for items I never received after waiting for 2 hours. Not sure if they’re just horrible in general, or if they’re of the antiquated mentality that disabled people are invisible and do not deserve their time or attention. Either way, not good.

One young man on the hotel staff, Semaj, was nice. Very nice. Very helpful. Went way above and beyond. He was the only one.

Maybe they don’t like disabled people, or maybe they are just nasty in general. Either way, the energy is terrible, very bad juju, stay away. Just stay away.

It’s such a shame. This is a physically beautiful hotel, very clean, lots of really unique features. I was so excited to stay here. What a huge disappointment.

Weekend Trip
Pros:

Spent a weekend in New Orleans with my mom to kick off the Christmas season. Overall a fantastic experience. We especially appreciate the friendly staff including Lionel and Ross at valet helping us navigate the traffic for the Christmas parade. Front desk was very friendly as well. It is a very busy hotel but great location! Will definitely be returning.

Also - LOCATION- it’s perfect!! Easy to get in and out of the downtown area for those driving in. Within walking distance of the French Quarter.

Pros:

We stayed at the Fontenot while at a conference in New Orleans. The staff were polite and attentive. That said, our first room was not up to standards. As we were working, we immediately tried to connect to the WiFi and were unsuccessful. A tech came up, but was unable to make the WiFi work without disconnecting. We were going to deal with the problem after dinner, but when we looked for the safe for our passports and computers, there was none in the room. Eventually, the staff were able to find us a room with working WiFi and a safe and also took away the amenity fee the hotel typically charges. All was fine in the end. Gospel Cafe has great coffee and food and was a good place to work for a bit. The live music on Thursday night was also super!
