Our recent stay at the Kimpton Fontenot in New Orleans was nothing short of exceptional. We’ve stayed in many hotels over the years, and this property truly stands as the model for how a hotel should be run.
From the moment we arrived until the day we checked out, every single staff member made us feel genuinely welcome. What impressed us most was that this wasn’t just the way they treated us—they treated every guest with the same warmth, professionalism, and kindness. It’s rare to see such a consistently guest-focused culture throughout an entire hotel.
A special thank you goes to General Manager Jesseca and Assistant General Manager Alex. Their leadership is evident in every aspect of the property. You can tell they’ve built a team that takes pride in what they do, and it shows in every interaction.
The team at Gospel Coffee Bar deserves recognition as well. Starting each morning with friendly faces, great service, and excellent coffee became one of the highlights of our stay. We’d also like to recognize Maria at King for breakfast. She made every morning feel welcoming, and her hospitality was the perfect way to start the day.
We also traveled with our miniature pinscher, Brooklyn, and the Kimpton Fontenot rolled out the red carpet for her. She was treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. Having a cozy dog bed waiting in our room, along with food and water bowls and toys, made her feel just as welcome as we did. It’s clear that this hotel doesn’t simply advertise itself as pet-friendly, it genuinely embraces pets as part of the family, and Brooklyn absolutely loved every minute of her stay.
Housekeeping was outstanding. Our room was impeccably and pristinely clean every single day, and it was obvious that great care was taken to maintain the highest standards.
The Kimpton Fontenot doesn’t just provide a place to stay, it delivers a true hospitality experience. Every department worked seamlessly together, creating an atmosphere that was warm, polished, and effortlessly welcoming. The level of service we experienced is incredibly rare, and it speaks volumes about the culture Jesseca, Alex, and their entire team have created.
Thank you to everyone at the Kimpton Fontenot for making our visit to New Orleans so memorable, not just for us, but for Brooklyn as well. We left feeling like we’d found a home away from home, and we can’t wait to return. We will enthusiastically recommend the Kimpton Fontenot to anyone looking for an exceptional hotel experience in New Orleans.
I really like this hotel, location , atmosphere was wonderful. Close enough to everything without being in the French Quarter. The only issue I had was some of rooms carpet needed cleaning or remove. The staff was really excellent and went above and beyond for my concerns. Raye was great. The treatment from the staff is what really put this hotel over the top.
We came to the Kimpton to attend my national convention. Extended family came too for the downtime between meetings. We stayed from 7/11/26 to 7/17/26. Even before we got there, Rae did a great job of addressing billing questions. She helped us again upon arrival when the billing questions came up again. She took care of other matters for us pleasantly and efficiently. Other people we want to compliment for great service and personability: Deaveon and Jerná at the front desk. All of our doormen (I only got Mo's name, but they were all great.) Matthew in the Peacock Room. Those people in particular made our stay special. Our room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. There were five people in our party spread out over three rooms. We all felt the Kimpton was a very good place to stay and an excellent value.
When i asked the front desk any recommendations a girl called Rae lit up and gave me 4/5 things to do in 24 hours. I had to stop her half way through because her excitement, made me excited, it was infectious and something I’ve been meaning to write a review about. She gave us a recommendation for lunch which I took my dad to for Fathers Day and it was perfect and something he’ll talk about forever. I hope this review gets to her, because she made my day and I’m sure she does for others.
We had a great time in a great hotel. Really good location, good food, good lounge, wonderful rooms, and excellent service. Alex was really helpful. Very clean rooms, calm and quiet atosphere, I highly recommend this hotel.
Great experience. Staff was fantastic and accommodating. We were there for a Family Reunion. Highly Recommend. Our housekeeping person Jeanetter William’s went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. 10!
Wonderful ambience, service, location, hospitality and food. 10/10 would return here and recommend!!
Location/Ambiance/Room:
This hotel is centrally located downtown, within short walking distance to the French Quarters. The interiors are modern and beautifully designed with thoughtful details. No eerie haunted atmosphere, only good vibes.
Hospitality/Service:
Everyone was kind, warm, and helpful. Requests such as getting water or lotion was promptly met and done with generosity. Shout out to Maria, Jerná, and the doorman (whose name I’m forgetting unfortunately) who shared his thoughts on the Rougarou!
Food (King restaurant):
We dined here multiple times for breakfast and dinner and didn’t feel like we missed out AT ALL in NOLA’s rich food scene. Although we didn’t have one bad dish, these particular ones made our taste buds sing Tchopitoula three times: Shrimp and Grits, Baby Gem + Arugula Salad, Raw Market Oysters (especially during happy hour Thursday), Fried Gulf Oysters, Gulf Fish Amandine, Lobster Bouillabaisse, and the Pecan Praline Beignets.
In the United States for a hotel 100-150 USD per night, usually all we can get is a lowly Holiday Inn Express, not a hotel of the caliber of Kimpton brand. I thought this Kimpton was very good.
We were upgraded as IHG Diamond to a spa suite which was very nice. The hotel is in an old historical building but clearly renovated recently.
Normally IHG Diamonds get free breakfast but here there was a cap of 45 USD which we found to be a bit limiting and we had to pay extra every day because it was insufficient, but I was less bothered than if we were paying 300+ per night.
In the aggregate I was happy with the value proposition between the suite and the breakfast menu so I can rate 5/5 as a whole.
Beautiful hotel with incredible staff. We were greeted by Janae and Alex who took care of us during our stay answering any questions and giving us great recommendations. Rooms were clean and up to date. Lobby and restaurant had great character giving a great feel for NO. Dinner and breakfast by their King Brasserie restaurant was so good you could have just ate there during our entire stay. Really enjoyed the Louisiana BBQ shrimp and Beignet with Chocolate Praline. Thursday night performance by the New Orleans Song Birds in the Peacock room was memorable as they incorporated the audience into the show. I would highly recommend staying here. Plus its a short walk to Caesars Casino, French Quarter and Bourbon street, and you can get the street car to Garden District and a bit of a longer walk to the Superdome.
Ross in Valet was the ultimate professional greeting us with New Orleans southern hospitality every time we arrived the hotel. He was prompt and provided the best service at Kimpton Hotel Fontenot.
The hotel is great, and located in a good spot to access all areas of New Orleans. The food in the interior restaurants is good, but the highlight of the experience was ALEX at the front desk! She welcomed us every day with a smile, had excellent recommendations for local restaurants and attractions and was always willing to help us with whatever we needed! Alex is why we would come back!
Alex the front desk person was amazing! She went above and beyond to make our stay great!
The Kimptom was so nice! We were recently there for a friends birthday. Upon arrival, there was wine and snacks for us in the lobby. The front desk lady (I wish I remembered her name) was so sweet and made us feel so welcomed. The check in process was so smooth! Our valet guy, Ross, was the absolute best!! Def would stay here again!
Amazing, clean, customer service above and beyond!
The location was perfect, very easy to hop on and gf the bus or walkable to the French Quarter. The staff was very attentive. I enjoy watching people who are good at their jobs. Ross, the doom attendant, was very personable and jovial with guests. Our room was huge and the bed was super comfy.
If you are sensitive to smells, the front lobby is highly scented. My only suggestion for improvement (the same one I have for every hotel!): have bidet attachments added to the toilets! Once you have one at home, it’s hard to go without!
We had a wonderful stay at the Kimpton Hotel Fontenot! From the moment we arrived, everyone made us feel genuinely welcome. The location was perfect, the happy hour was a great bonus, and we loved how incredibly dog-friendly the hotel is.
The highlight of our stay was our favorite valet, Ross. His kindness, professionalism, and outstanding customer service made a lasting impression. He always greeted us with a smile and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of.
Thank you to Ross and the entire team for making our New Orleans trip so memorable. We look forward to coming back! 🐾❤️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
