Renovation - it was noisy.
Breakfast was good. Would loved to have bacon and real sausage.
Mattress was worn. King size had dips on both sides and hump in the middle. The front desk did write this down so perhaps the next guest will have a new mattress.

I am writing to express my concern and disappointment regarding the condition of my room and the level of service I received during my recent stay at your location on Newtown Road in Virginia Beach.
Shortly after arriving and settling into the room, I discovered yellow stains on the bottom sheet of one of the beds. This was extremely disappointing and unacceptable for a Marriott-branded hotel. I immediately went down to the front desk to report the issue. A staff member handed me a new set of sheets but informed me that housekeeping would not be making the bed, so I would need to do it myself.
Unfortunately, upon placing the replacement bottom sheet on the bed, I noticed even larger yellow stains on that sheet as well. I returned to the front desk and showed Craig, the employee on duty, the stains. He called someone from housekeeping to bring another set of sheets, but again explained that they are not trained to make the bed. I told him that we had been traveling for 12 hours and were completely exhausted, and I kindly asked that the replacement sheets be sent up as soon as possible.
After waiting 30 minutes with no sheets delivered to the room, I went back down to the front desk to ask what was going on. I told Craig that I either needed a clean set of sheets immediately or needed to be moved to another room. At that point, he said he would personally bring up a new set of sheets right away. While I appreciated the eventual response, I don’t understand why that wasn’t offered in the first place—especially after my second trip to the front desk and my clear explanation of the situation.
This experience fell far below what I expect from a Marriott property. Cleanliness and hospitality should be baseline standards—not something a guest has to repeatedly ask for after a long day of travel.
Given the unacceptable condition of the room and the poor response time and service, I believe it is entirely reasonable to request a full reimbursement of the $325 I
