Pismo Lighthouse Suites

Wonderful location, staff was really friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and quiet.

Took my grandkids out for the weekend. Convenient, Easy beach access via the steps. Kid friendly. Large one bedroom suite. Plenry of space for 2 adults and two kids. Kids being kids they loved the sofa bed.
Reasonable price. Simple continental breakfast with hot options.
Seems like many of the coastal hotels are currently under remodeling but being the weekend, there seemed to be minimal disturbance regarding construction noice.

Room had an amazing view, breakfast was great. Location was great and close by the pier. They were renovating the building so my daughters did not get to play on the playground but overall we enjoyed our stay!

We stayed at Pismo Lighthouse from Valentine’s Day through Monday 2026 in the Ocean-Facing King Suite. Overall, it was good — but not great.

The atmosphere of the property was good. It had a relaxing coastal vibe, and the location right by the ocean is definitely a highlight.

The room itself was large, clean, and comfortable. However, we didn’t love the layout. We would have preferred the king bed to be positioned closer to the natural light and in the room next to the ocean-facing window. It felt like the best part of the view wasn’t fully utilized, especially given that we booked the ocean-facing suite.

The pillows were very soft and not very supportive, and the bath towels were smaller than expected for bath towels. The bathrooms, though, were clean and well-maintained.

The outside balcony space was okay, but we would have much preferred an upstairs room for a better overall experience and vantage point.

Breakfast was basic but fine — nothing special, but it worked.

The value was on the expensive side, which is really the sticking point. When you spend this kind of money, you expect to get exactly the room experience you want, not feel like you had to settle. Overall, it was a good stay, but at that price point, we were hoping for great.

This is a clean, comfortable hotel right on the beach in Pismo Beach. There is a decent hotel breakfast. The location, of course, is amazing. The service was friendly and accommodating.

This is my problem: I had a one bedroom with a dim living room that had a small sliding glass door looking directly out onto the ocean. That sliding glass door was covered by large wooden French doors.

To me, the whole point of having an ocean view is to have a nice large sliding glass door or windows to enjoy it. Instead, you have a cave-like living room that you have to essentially stand right in front of the sliding glass door to look out and see the ocean.

The bedroom is on the backside of the apartment, with a window out onto the walkway, where people walk by and look into your bedroom.

Also, the kitchenette lacks any amenities. A kitchen towel or a roll of paper towels with a small bottle of dishwashing liquid would’ve been very helpful.

Great place, spacious room, spectacular views! Would definitely stay here again and recommend to everyone. Also breakfast was delicious, lots of choices and coffee was superb!

The location

Overall the experience was good. The only problem was the initial check into the hotel where we had a gal that worked the afternoon about after 1pm that day had all the rate and stay completely disorganized. There was all this added fees that did not make sense initially when the room was booked. Thankfully the other girl on Sunday was great. She addressed the problem corrected the rate because we only stayed 1 night and it was booked like we stayed 2 nights. So very frustrating checking in but checkout with other gal was good.
