Beautiful hotel but would not give it 5*. The hotel staff are wonderful each and everyone of them go beyond to help with any issues that you may have. Unfortunately for us there we a lot of small children at the hotel when we were there and were quite noisy as children are and the pool area is quite compact. We were surprised as we thought it would be more of an adult only hotel. But that doesn't detract from the beauty of the hotel. We had a super room that was spotlessly cleaned every day. I would say that the towels and dressing gowns need to be updated, they are very tired and hard on the skin. There are no luxuries in the room to speak of and only one small bottle of water provided on arrival after that you had to buy your own which we would expect to be replaced each day. Again unfortunately for us there was no atmosphere in the hotel of a night time, the bar was always empty and the restaurant had a very limited menu. Breakfast was substantial and very nice although coffee from a machine was not the best. The location of the hotel is super good for the marina and the town only a short walk to either. Would I stay again, unfortunately not.
Beautiful looking hotel and super location . However a few things to point out if you have kids !
You probably have more fun in a prison pool than here at this hotel ! So many do not do’s for the kids makes it zero fun for them . Zero atmosphere around the pool with no music or activities in the day ! And the biggest one is a rule they fail to enforce - reserving sun loungers ! A very selfish family group of 16 were staying at the hotel and by 7am reserved all the best spots ! Even though breakfast didn’t start till 8am and the pool didn’t open till 10am ! Nothing left by 8:30 am so spent most of the holiday down the beaches which was fantastic but you should be entitled to a sun lounger ! The hotel really needs to make its mind up as it wants to advertise as a family hotel but felt very much and adults only and failed to enforce the reservation rule for other guests ! Would not stay here again .
Great location
Could do
With more sun beds in
The sun
We had a lovely stay overall and I’d say this is a very good 4-star hotel. There are so many things the hotel gets right, but with a few improvements it could genuinely feel like a 5-star experience.
The biggest positive was the staff. Every member of the team was warm, welcoming and genuinely helpful, and they really made our stay. The only exception was the pool attendant, who unfortunately came across as having quite an attitude, which felt out of keeping with the rest of the hotel’s excellent service.
One of our favourite things was how peaceful the pool area was. There was no constant music playing, which made it incredibly relaxing. On one day there was a DJ playing chilled lounge music for a couple of hours, and on another day there was a saxophonist playing similar music, but otherwise it was wonderfully quiet – a real oasis away from the bustle of Cala d’Or.
The cleanliness throughout the hotel was exceptional. Both the communal areas and our room were absolutely spotless every day. The sun loungers were also very well spaced, so you never felt like you were on top of other guests, which made the pool area feel much more luxurious and relaxing.
Where the hotel really falls short is the food, particularly for half-board guests. Everything we ate at dinner was tasty and clearly made with good-quality ingredients, but the lack of variety became a real issue. Each evening there was just one included meat option (which was pork around 90% of the time), one fish option and one vegetarian option. There were also beef and sea bass available every night, but these required a supplement despite only costing a few euros more than the included dishes. By the end of the week I actually ordered from the children’s menu because none of the main course options appealed.
The starter choices were also repetitive, usually consisting of a soup, a salad and one other option. In other hotels we’ve stayed in, soup and salad are available from a buffet every evening alongside three different starter choices, and something similar here would make a huge difference.
Breakfast was probably the most disappointing meal. It was very repetitive with limited choice. Hot drinks came from a self-service machine rather than being served at the table, and drinking water was dispensed from an office-style water fountain, neither of which felt particularly luxurious. The only live cooking station was omelettes every morning. While pancakes were available, they were always cold. It would be fantastic to see more variety, perhaps rotating between omelettes, waffles and crêpes, or even offering a few cooked-to-order à la carte options such as Eggs Benedict or blueberry pancakes.
Another small detail that was missing was complimentary bottled water in the room. For a hotel positioning itself as a luxury property, providing fresh bottled water each day is something we’d expect as standard and would add to the overall guest experience.
On a positive note, lunch at the pool bar was very good. The menu offered more choice and variety than the half-board dinner menu, and everything we ordered was fresh, well presented and tasty.
As for Cala d’Or itself, we realised it’s probably just not our kind of destination. The beaches are undeniably beautiful, but they are incredibly busy, making them difficult to fully enjoy. The town centre felt very commercialised, with bars, restaurants and loud music everywhere, so it lacked the authentic atmosphere we usually look for. That said, the marina is absolutely lovely and well worth a visit.
Overall, we’d happily recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing, immaculately clean base with fantastic staff. If the hotel expanded and refreshed its food offering, improved a few of the luxury touches, and added complimentary bottled water to the rooms, it would be very close to delivering a true 5-star experience.
The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and the staff are incredibly friendly. However, we would not book it again because nothing is done to prevent guests from reserving sunbeds at the pool.
We paid €1,600 for four nights, yet on two days we couldn't get a spot by the pool. The pool doesn't even open until 10:00 a.m., and there is staff present there all day. Still, every morning the sunbeds were already "reserved," while many of the people who claimed them didn't actually show up until after lunch.
It's a real shame because this is such a beautiful hotel. We noticed that many other guests were also extremely frustrated by this. We really hope the hotel will start enforcing its no-reserving policy, as it significantly affects the overall guest experience.
We had an amazing stay, rooms are clean. Jihad was the best! He helped us with all of our questions and was so kind.
We have just returned from a wonderful 15-day holiday at the Eques Petit Resort. It was our fourth time staying here, and once again the experience was outstanding, just as it has been in all previous years.
The property is exceptionally well maintained and everything is spotlessly clean. The staff are truly excellent. Everyone goes out of their way to make sure you have a great stay, and nothing is ever too much trouble. The breakfast is very extensive, with delicious fresh bread and a variety of healthy breakfast options.
The lunch menu is very good; however, one thing we feel is slightly missing are simpler lunch options such as a tuna, chicken, or salmon sandwich, or perhaps a wrap. Something a little more casual and easy for the middle of the day.
The swimming pool and the accompanying sunbeds/daybeds are absolutely fantastic, especially the comfortable cushions provided. The hotel's location is also superb, situated perfectly between the town centre and the marina, both of which can be reached within a five-minute walk.
We will definitely be returning in 2027 and are already looking forward to it.
One suggestion for the management would be to give staff the option of wearing smart Bermuda shorts instead of long trousers during the hot summer months when working around the pool area and during lunch service. For the evening dinner service, long trousers would of course remain entirely appropriate.
This was our 3rd visit. The hotel experience is all about the people, who are lovely and nothing is too much effort. The rooms are modern and spacious. The breakfast buffet has a wide selection of choices and omelette of you choice is made as you watch. Love the honeycomb tray. Will be booking for 2027.
Mooi hotel en een perfecte locatie. Heel erg vriendelijk personeel, ontbijt goed en uitgebreid. Erg geschikt voor stellen met een baby/jong kind.
Niks
We returned from this slice of paradise a few weeks ago and what a wonderful stay this was! From start to finish the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Shout out to Josh who was so accommodating!
The location was fab, a 2 min stroll into the centre of Cala dor and a 5 min stroll to the marina. Recommended eating at both the town and marina- the hotel have a list of restaurants to try and they did not disappoint! We did b&b so this definitely helped! The breakfast was wonderful with so much choice whether hot or cold and plenty to choose from!
The atmosphere of the hotel was so relaxing and chill. The pool area was lovely with Bali beds or normal sunbeds and the loungers in the pool! The pool bar was great, we ordered lunch and drinks to our sunbeds which was a great touch! Also, getting a sunbed was easy and no rush either.
The rooms were lovely with a huge balcony and the cleanliness was second to none! Any staff member would greet you with a smile, whether it’s the front desk, the bar staff, the cleaners or gardeners!
We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and will return again soon! Thank you for wonderful stay!
Eques Petit Resort was a clear 5 out of 5 for us. No question. Before going any further, we genuinely could not fault the hotel on any level.
The location is absolutely perfect for Cala d’Or. The main tourist areas, restaurants, bars and nightlife are only around two or three minutes’ walk away, while the marina is roughly a 10 to 12-minute walk. Despite being so close to the main eateries, clubs and bars, we heard no noise from the tourist area at all. The hotel feels calm and peaceful, yet everything is right on the doorstep. If you stay here, there is no real need for taxis.
On arrival, we were greeted by Tessa, a Majorca local who could not have been sweeter or more welcoming. Check-in took around five minutes, our luggage was taken to the room, and we were offered champagne or soft drinks. Tessa then explained the basics of the hotel and personally walked us to our room, pointing out the different areas of the property, the pool rules, the sun-bed arrangements, when the pool was supervised by a lifeguard, and the food and drink options available from the poolside bar area and the main restaurant. Once at the room, she showed us how everything worked and explained what to expect during the stay. Within around 30 minutes, we were fully checked in, settled and unpacking before heading out.
The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained. The grass is kept green and lush, sprinklers run in the evening, and everywhere feels clean, calm and well cared for. There was no litter or mess anywhere. Everything around the hotel feels high quality, fresh and modern, with very little sign of wear and tear.
Our room had everything we needed and quite a bit more. Towels were plentiful and refreshed as required. There was a hair dryer for those with hair, plus a full range of useful vanity items such as toothbrushes, shaving items, soaps, shampoos and other bits and bobs you may have forgotten to pack. Rest assured, the hotel has you covered. We were also given two cards for pool towels, which could be swapped out as often as needed.
Housekeeping was excellent. The maid service worked around us, which we appreciated because our morning routine was never the same two days running. Even so, the room was refreshed and made good every day without ever feeling inconvenient.
We chose the B&B option and, although we did not have breakfast every day, what we did have was very good. There was a strong selection of cold juices, cereals, cold meats and fruit, along with hot options such as omelettes, eggs, bacon and sausages. I would be surprised if most requirements were not catered for. There was also a convenient water cooler where guests could refill bottles throughout the day, which was a useful touch.
The pool area was excellent. The pool was big enough for the number of beds available, so it did not feel overcrowded. There were static four-poster-style sunbeds with drapes for shade, traditional beds under fixed tiki-style umbrellas, and movable beds that could sit beneath larger parasols. The water was clean and never cold. There was a shallow end and a deeper end, with families and babies generally around the shallow area and adults tending to use the deeper end. Even then, the deep end was not intimidatingly deep.
The poolside bar staff were genuinely lovely. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and the food was very good. The pulled pork bao buns were a big hit, as was the club sandwich. The beers were cold, and the cocktails looked excellent.
One thing that really stood out was the staff. Many of the team are quite young, but their level of professionalism felt beyond their years. Every employee we came into contact with was courteous, friendly and genuinely pleasant. The breakfast servers, pool bar staff, housekeeping team and reception staff all served with a smile and could not be faulted.
Overall, we feel like we have found our Majorca hotel. There is no need for us to look elsewhere because Eques Petit Resort offers everything we need and want, and the location would be very difficult to better.
For us, this was an easy 5 out of 5.
We just came back from a 5 night stay at the Eques petit resort, we had such a nice and relaxing time.
The hotel is located a 2 minute walk from loads of bars and nice restaurants, we went half board but we ended up swapping dinner for lunch so we went out for dinner every day and it was lovely.
The room was fantastic and was kept super clean by the house keeping every day, and in general the hotel is very well maintained and pool area is lovely.
Some small negatives why I didn’t rate 5*
It would have been nice to have some bottled water in the room each day, it’s not a major issue as there was a shop located in close proximity
Despite the hotel having a no sunbed reservation policy we did find people still reserving them and as the pool area is quite small there is limited options for sun beds where you can get sun & shade.
There are no allergy labels on the food at breakfast which would have been helpful.
Other then those points I would recommend this hotel to anyone, we went as a couple however I can see this also being very good for a young family aswell.
A great holiday, and very nice hotel. Positioning couldn’t be better, just next to Cala D’Or centre, or alternatively 5 minutes down the hill to the marina. We were bed & breakfast so didn’t have dinner there, but what we had was really nice for breakfast or lunch.
Rooms well appointed, apart from weird part frosted glass door into the toilet which I didn’t understand or wish to see again. Aircon was great.
Nice pool, but a bit small. Frustratingly doesn’t open until 10am, which is annoying when you’re sunbathing after breakfast at 9am in 25deg+ heat. Seems to be plenty sunbeds, but they have this unnecessary policy of not being able to leave your bed unattended for more than 20 minutes, or the pool guy strips the bed and takes your towels/belongings to reception. This rule doesn’t apply if you are eating lunch in the hotel though, rather than going out for lunch elsewhere.
There were too many young children there for our liking, but perhaps our fault for not booking an adult only hotel.
Overall, a great experience, I would certainly recommend the hotel to others. Unfortunately, not for us though, unless it becomes adults only in the future.
Eques Resort is a class of it's own. From booking, arriving to sadly the last day, everything was perfect. The rooms (we had a suite), are extremely clean, well thought out and air-conditioned. You are not crowded. Pool is a great size for a dip. Breakfast is great. Did not have lunch or dinner but wished we did. ALL staff are so friendly and welcoming, from front of house, bar, service, maids, gardeners. Such a great team. Anyone that manages to stay here will return. Short walking distance to Marina and main town. Can't wait to return.
It was clean and very comfortabel. You could see that they thought of every little detail. There was a dj on Friday at the pool, lounge kinda music, easy listening.
Breakfast was amazing, as was the pool bar food and cocktails!
Nothing
Alles is perfect! Super vriendelijk personeel!!! Heel erg persoonlijk contact.
Alles perfect.
My happy place, just perfect. Great location, great staff and a very good breakfast too. Will be returning yet again !
