Shout out to Lisa for making my check-in process fast and easy after a 52 hour train ride! Location, cleanliness met my expectations; with a variety of restaurants within a walking distance. Not to mention how close and easy access to Amtrak train station.
Princess at front desk was super friendly and welcoming. She also put us priority for an early check-in. Our housekeeping lady was very friendly and helpful in showing me directions to Target pointing it out from the balcony. She also gave us supplies when needed.
A great place to stay! I love staying at this Hyatt location. I rent what I call my own “apartment” when I stay here. I love that I have a Bay view and a balcony. The room is larger than my first apartment and comes with 2 tvs, all the dishes you need to make food and a very comfortable bed.
I look forward to my next visit.
My wife and I stayed here for one night before taking Amtrak from the adjacent Emeryville station. The proximity to the station was the prime reason for choosing this hotel, and we weren’t the only guests staying there who were taking the train.
The hotel itself was ok. We felt secure. The place was clean. The bed was comfortable. The staff we interacted with were friendly and polite.
However, there’s no restaurant or bar except for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights. I’ve no idea why, and the Reception staff didn’t know either. In fact they didn’t even know that the bar wasn’t open the night we stayed nor did they know what days it was open. The little market has a decent choice of beers if that’s your thing, and four different red wines at $40 a bottle - but no white wines!
We ate at one of the restaurants at the adjacent Public Market and would recommend checking that out for its varied choice of bars and cuisines.
Breakfast was a massive letdown. We were down for 7 am prompt which is when breakfast starts only to find that all the “hot” options were barely lukewarm so had clearly been sitting out for a while. The yoghurt and fruit was good but that really was it. I don’t understand the corporate or managerial mindset that looks at these breakfast offerings and thinks that they are appealing.
Given the total lack of amenities at the hotel I was really surprised at the $200 hold that was placed on my card over and above the one night’s room rate plus tax etc. The hold was over $450 for a single night, and my bill was just over $250. I can stay at full-service 5* hotels and have a much smaller per-diem hold for incidentals etc. I only mention this as some travellers are on a budget and don’t have scope for these types of hold against their available credit.
Would I stay here again? Probably not. The location is good for Amtrak and local dining but that’s about it. I don’t think the hotel represents good value for money and with no real amenities and a breakfast that falls way short of even the usual buffet fare it’s very hard to recommend it.
On a temporary assignment, traveling for work at the Port of Oakland. Hotel is clean. The ladies who do the cleaning, do an exceptional job, and they are very polite. The complimentary breakfasts are stellar and very helpful and convenient for hasty mornings before heading to the port.
Exceeded my expectations! Convientent as the hotel is close to Amtrak station. The room was more like a studio apartment than a queen bed for 1 person. I wish my apartment was spacious like my queen room at the Emeryville Hyatt House.
Great location. Close to everything. Easy access to the freeway especially we have to get to Oakland. Hotel needs better upkeep on some fixtures in the room. Otherwise the hotel is clean.
Need better selection for breakfast items. They did not look appetizing at all.
Friendly and good location, big room with good kitchen, near public market, stores, gas station, easy in and out to/from San Francisco, just avoid Oakland area and pathways.
If you need a place to stay in the Bay Area, I highly recommend the Hyatt House in Emeryville, CA. It is close to mass transit (one bus from the hotel to get to a BART Station). It is very close to the Bay Bridge if you need to drive into the city or take rideshare. I recommend getting a bay view room with a "BALCONY", YES! a balcony. They have sliding doors that allows you to enjoy the breezes when the weather is right. The staff has always been welcoming, and I have spent a substantial amount of time at the hotel going back almost 10 years now.
The hotel is nice, very clean, and in a very convenient. Close to the freeway, the train station, lots of places to shop and eat.
Originally, we'd planned to stay in Walnut Creek, but. a last minute change brought us to the Hyatt House in Emeryville. We were caught by surprise in the excellent service, great accommodations, and all around best hospitality than we've had in years. The front desk, the facilities support staff, and even the breakfast staff were friendly, intentional, and so hospitable. Really good weekend stay. They made our trip perfect as far as accommodations go.
Requested adjoining rooms when I booked a month in advance, Was told I would have to call the morning of my arrival and request. When I called at 0800 on the day of arrival, I was told that they still could not guarantee adjoining rooms or early check in. I arrived around 2:20 pm and was advised that adjoining rooms had been secured and they even allowed me to check in a little early to one of the rooms. Rooms were very clean. Only issue is the "fully stocked kitchen" in the suite isn't really a kitchen. Small 2 - burner stove and small microwave/convection oven. Can only get one pan at a time on the stove. No table to sit at, only a bar with 2 chairs. So we ate out rather than cooking as we originally planned. Breakfast was well prepared and the area was kept well stocked and clean.
Once again, a perfect stay- we come here frequently (about 10 days / yr) to see our kids at school nearby, and we’re always impressed by the kind and considerate staff, the cleanliness and spaciousness of the rooms, and the all around “well-run” feeling of the place. The breakfast is very good too. I highly recommend Hyatt house Emeryville - it feels like a second home.
A big thank you to the great staff- Jose, Princess, Angel, Sergio, Joe at breakfast and several other staff who always make our stay welcoming and comfortable.
value 10/10
Location was the best stores around and just outside the city!
Really clean nice area
The Amenities and service was top of the game as always from hyatt 10/10
Our stay at this hotel was pleasant overall. We stayed for 10 days in a suite that came with a full kitchen, which was great for days we didn't feel like going out. Room is spacious, clean, a TV in living area and a 2nd in the bedroom. Staff was consistently friendly and helpful. Rate was reasonable with (OK) breakfast included. One downside: $25 daily parking fee, bit high. Everything else met our exceeded our expectations
This hotel is very close to the Amtrak station, which is why we booked it. The room was fine, staff was very helpful but the bar was NEVER open.
The room was clean and the staff was very nice. They are remodeling so one of the front doors was not working so you needed someone to hold the handicapped door open if you were disabled.
I booked this place by mistake as they do have long term rentals but my stay was quiet and uneventful. Room and bathroom were clean, but rug was dated and low quality and windows were very dirty. It felt a little jinky. The morning staff was super friendly and professional and the breakfast was very good! Even though I would not go back, I would say it ended on a great note!
A wonderful view of the mountains. Suite had everything one would need to enjoy their stay. Hot breakfast, fresh fruit or cereal and yogurt. Great choices.
Great
