Location good.
Reception staff pleasant; unlike the duty manager we encountered.
This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had, and definitely the worst mattress I’ve ever slept on.
1. The room was noisy all the time. Thin walls meant hearing everything from other rooms—showers, doors closing, and people talking. Our room door rattled constantly day and night, and the loud bathroom light/fan disturbed us during the night.
2. The room was stifling despite mild weather. There was no air conditioning, and the window barely opened. A huge, heavy curtain was impossible to pull aside properly, blocking most of the window even with a tieback.
3. The mattress was hard, uncomfortable, and the absolute worst part of the stay. It had no padding, so I could feel the springs. Upon checking the label, it was a cheap Respa open-coil mattress and kept me awake alongside the heat and noise, failing the basic standards of a 4-star hotel.
4. A loud, drill-like drone started around 4:30 AM and lasted for hours. Other reviews confirm this is a known, unresolved issue with the hotel's heat or water pumps.
5. Hostile Management Interaction; when complaining to the duty manager, the interaction was unpleasant and borderline hostile. Instead of politely explaining the discount policy, she was officious and argumentative. She claimed we couldn't hear the pumps because of our room location and berated us several times for not complaining earlier in the day. I was merely requesting a discount for legitimate complaints, not looking to be cross-examined.
Location right next to train station and on the bus route.
Not really young person vibe. I was staying with my mom and she really enjoyed it.
No sleep for one night, 240 euro and complete disregard for people staying here. Do not stay here if you want to enjoy sligo and get any sleep at a reasonable time before 1am. Disappointed is an understatement
Very regal. Good location and big bed.
Hot and no air con, trains very loud , very early. No good.

Easy to get to good location very clean a lovely old place had dinner here and the staff , their customer service was outstanding , each and everyone that served our meal , nothing was too much bother for them , excellent service Check in was easy staff nice and helpful
Hotel well situated relative to the town centre, Parking was easy. The room clean and a great size of bathroom. Staff were ok.
The room was not very sound proof so people walking down the corridor disturbed you as they walked passed, floor boards, talking. Spa facilities a little tired, sauna and Steam room separate to the pool area, not to my preference.
The room was clean and well equipped. The swimming pool was excellent. The bar was also very nice.
The duvet on the bed was too heavy for the summer. A bed sheet would be appreciated also. No fridge in the room
I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. Its right beside the train station and very close to the city centre. The ambience in the hotel was second to none and my room was extremely comfortable. If I am in Sligo again I would definitely stay here.
Friendly staff, good location
You could hear everything during nights and mornings.
The view from the room was Benbulbin, which we visited during our stay.
Satisfied with the overall experience.
We really enjoyed our recent overnighter at the Great Southern hotel in Sligo. The room was spacious and immaculately clean with comfortable beds. Service was excellent and staff were very efficient and friendly. Food was good. Breakfast was delicious and most of all it is in a great location. I would highly recommend it!
The bed was super comfortable and the breakfast was good
The dinner wasn't great and the wifi was terrible,
