The food was lovely

Cons:

I was upset with the fact I paid €210 back before Christmas with a request of a high standard room as it was for a special occasion as a couple. The room we got was not €210 worth, extremely small, extremely warm and a very dirty toilet. Really wasn’t at the standard I’d have hoped for. We attended Keith Barry and the night was ruined by the room given.

Great location, facilities could be refurbished
Pros:

Lovely bedrooms, appear to be newly refurbished. Great sustainable water fountain and jug in room.

Cons:

The leisure facilities were very tired, workout machines not working properly, dirty gym area. The breakfast was not a 4 star quality. Some of the food on offer didn’t seem fresh and expected more vegetarian options

Our stay was very enjoyable and would go back again
Pros:

Breakfast was delicous and a great choice was available. Food in the bar was also very nice and good value. Loved the idea of the water station on each floor. The location of the hotel was great and the grounds were fantastic

Cons:

The only thing we had a problem with was we could only open our bedroom window a little piece as there was a lock on the tilt and turn. I know it is probably a health and safety issue but l think we should have that choice as adults with no kids accompaning us.

Such a Fabulously friendly place.
Pros:

The hotel was wonderful and the staff very helpful. Would happily eat the food every day. We had a great couple of days, really enjoyed ourselves there.

Cons:

Happy with all the facilities. We had no issues while we were there. The ducks were very friendly at the nature pond.

Pros:

Water pressure in bathroom was fantastic
Furniture was comfortable
staff were pleasant and helpful

Cons:

On sight parking - small spaces - hard to park.
Room - temperature was warm with no AC or fan - very stuffy and uncomfortable as the window only opened a crack.
Amenities - used the pool, but felt it was not that clean... and facilities there were dated and unpleasant.
No supplies of toothpaste, etc in the room. however, the receptionist dug out a hygiene pack from under the counter when i asked.
No fridge in room
no water or refill station nearby - i had to fetch a jug from the bar downstairs to fill my kettle & water bottle (despite it being such a hot day)
Kettle in room was dodgy with crackling sounds coming out of it.
Toilet was very slow in refilling... bathroom had poor extraction - was slow to clear steam and smell.
Breakfast was average. it was fine, but not excellent.
Details matter - they make the difference. it doesn't take much to go the extra mile and think of the small things that help deliver that special experience that makes someone come back again... but clearly Arklow Bay are not interested in doing this... only the bare minimum was my experience.
Even one of my calls to reception was left unanswered.
