Achtung lieber anders Hotel nehmen

Der Strand

Cons:

Es wurden Dinge abgerechnet die wir gar nicht benutzt haben. Trotz Reklamation habe es kein Geld zurück obwohl uns das zu erst auch gutgeschrieben wurde. Ging um 150 €. Als wir dann weg waren wurde es auf unserer Kreditkarte wieder abgebucht.

Love this hotel and area, will be back!

There is no policy on unattended chairs. Pool chairs with guest belongings were unused and unattended all day leaving nowhere to sit and relax.

Leider entsprach unser Aufenthalt im Plunge Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale in keiner Weise den Erwartungen, die durch die Darstellung als 4-Sterne-Hotel geweckt werden.

Bereits bei der Ankunft fiel auf, dass das Hotel insgesamt deutlich in die Jahre gekommen ist und nicht dem Standard entspricht, den man in dieser Kategorie erwarten darf. Das Zimmer wirkte abgewohnt und die Sauberkeit ließ leider zu wünschen übrig. Die Reinigung schien nur oberflächlich erfolgt zu sein, sodass man sich nicht wirklich wohlfühlen konnte.

Auch in den allgemeinen Bereichen machte die Anlage keinen gepflegten Eindruck. Mehrere Details vermittelten eher den Eindruck eines niedrigen 3-Sterne-Hotels als eines gehobenen Resorts.

Service und Kommunikation verliefen zudem wenig lösungsorientiert, obwohl wir unsere Anliegen während des Aufenthalts sowie anschließend über Booking.com reklamiert haben. Auf die geschilderten Probleme wurde nur unzureichend eingegangen.

Besonders enttäuschend war die deutliche Diskrepanz zwischen Online-Präsentation und Realität vor Ort. Die Bilder und Beschreibungen vermitteln ein wesentlich hochwertigeres Erlebnis, als tatsächlich geboten wird.

Die Lage fast direkt am Strand ist zwar positiv, kann jedoch die insgesamt enttäuschende Erfahrung nicht ausgleichen. Für den verlangten Preis hätten wir einen deutlich besseren Standard erwartet.

Aus unserer Sicht sollte das Hotel seine Klassifizierung und Darstellung überdenken, damit zukünftige Gäste realistischere Erwartungen haben.

Leider keine Empfehlung.

Except for the hall noise everything was good.

The location and cleanliness

Cons:

The noise in the hallway could be easily heard in the room. Tenants would allow the heavy front door to slam shut, especially when everyone is sleeping! Perhaps, the administration could do something with adding rubber placements around the door frame to minimize the slamming.

I didn’t like the customer service.. the lady who checked us in was not pleasant at all.. she didn’t explain where anything was.. she just gave us our keys and walked off.

Great place to stay!
Pros:

Location was great! You could walk to store walk to town on the beach or street. Had 2 bars 2 restaurants. Private beach across the not busy street. They got you chairs and umbrellas and set them up for you.

Cons:

They are planning for new carpet and decorations on the walls.

Once checked in, we got excellent service from the front desk. Suzette remembered me from last year
Pros:

Breakfast was fine, and so was food at the bar. The building is being restored. I was told a few days in advance. For the inconvenience, we had two complimentary breakfasts each day.

Cons:

The building near the pool was quite dusty and at times noisy. The 4th floor, where I stayed was quiet and clean. It was distressing when I was called last week and was told that I couldn’t get the room I wanted. I was told there was a plumbing problem. When I tried to answer the phone message, I couldn’t get a real person but a recording that was useless. Stayed in the phone for over an hour trying to get through.

Take the Good with the Bad
Pros:

My room was very comfortable and spotless; lobby and hallways were dirty. I travel alot and stay in lots of hotels, and this was the most mismanaged place I have ever stayed. The front desk personnel were unwelcoming and robotic. There were no rooms available at check-in time, and many people were standing around waiting for a room. I asked for a pro-rated refund since I paid for my reservation beginning at 4:00. I was denied and finally got my room key at 4:35. No apologies or empathy for a "valued customer." I left, but the rest of the people continued waiting around. The beach cafe was understaffed and very difficult to get waited on. Cabana boys were SO good at getting towels and neach chairs. The inside restaurant that opened at 6:30 never opened until 6:55, but very good food. So many good things about Plunge, but lots of attention needed with staff.

Cons:

Front desk - unwelcoming, unsmiling, robotic, and inefficient.
