Overall it was worth the money.
Pros:

Rare Gem - A truly great budget hotel
Pros:

Great place. They were one of more affordable options in the area the night we stayed, and it was rated well, so we went. It was great - plenty of room with 2 queens for 2 sisters travelling together; bed and pillows were very comfortable; physical condition of the room was great; plenty of bathroom counter space, great shower… Good selection of fairly-priced late-night snacks at the front desk; staff are all friendly; breakfast was amazing; great tea & coffee selection available 24/7…

It seemed to me from my interactions with staff that management respects them, listens, and takes customer feedback seriously. The whole operation just feels well-run. Someone at the top there is a very good innkeeper, and their attention is evident everywhere. That’s rare for a budget hotel, and doubly tough in this market, so Bravo to you for that!

I wish all budget hotels could be this good. I wish *any* budget hotel could be. This one scores 10/10.

Cons:

I didn’t mind that the room had no coffee machine. Their coffee is better, and it’s available 24/7, so who cares?
Fridge didn’t have a freezer - but if we had e.g. a med ice pack to freeze, I know they would have been happy to keep it in their freezer, so no problem.

It would have been nice to be able to connect my Bluetooth headphones to the TV so my sister could sleep while I watched it. Some lines of code in the TV’s hotel-use firmware programming could fix that.

These next two items would have made a great experience stellar:

Bathroom could use a nightlight (maybe buy some rovers and offer them at the front desk for sign-out?).
Bed lamps could really use dimmers. So could the bathroom light, although a night light might be adequate. But functionally, dimmers allow one person to sleep while the other is awake. They also change mood while adding elegance, which would add warmth to the rooms’ Euro-functional aesthetic (one review compared them to an Ikea). They aren’t expensive to buy, install & maintain, but they’d add a lot of value.

I gave that advice to the (friendly and efficient) front desk clerk, who I felt really heard me. He said they were planning to do some work. I wouldn’t be surprised to find nightlights and at least the promise of dimmers on my next visit.

Great place to stay for a good rest!
Pros:

Great breakfast! there was plenty of eggs, sausages etc even though we came in for breakfast late.

Cons:

Loud AC in the room, but this is in most of the hotels like this.
