The friendly and helpful staff made this hotel.
The hotel restaurant was excellent. But not open on our last night which, as one of our party was 90 meant a rather expensive taxi.
Breakfasts were good value, but late comers might not get a full selection.
We booked this hotel specifically because it was advertised to have a swimming pool. So when we were told it was closed we were very disappointed. Then when, on our last night there, the hotel manger told us it wasn't closed, we were just Angry....
We were also disappointed to find the hotel restaurant closed on our last night, especially as the website suggested it was open 7 days a week?
Our stay was in early June over D-Day so you'd think this was peak times?
The staff at the hotel were lovely. Very helpful and friendly. For a hotel, the restaurant food was delicious.
We booked this hotel as there was an outside pool. Unfortunately when we asked about using it, we were told that it was not possible and it was closed. On our last night I had an issue with a motor noise in my room and as a side asked the Manager why the pool was out of action and was told there was nothing wrong with it. Obviously, we were disappointed.
On one day the breakfast room had run out of eggs an hour before end of service.
The bathroom flooded as the drainage in the shower and sink was very slow and could not keep up with the good water pressure.
They also do not automatically service your room.

The 24 hour desk was great, as I was coming off the ferry late at night. The staff were very welcoming, and kindly offered to carry my bags up the stairs to my room. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed was very comfortable, and there was a good powerful hot shower. It was very convenient for a comfortable overnight stop after the ferry.
The only two negatives I can think of are that there is no lift to the upstairs rooms, and the hotel would have been difficult to find in the back streets at night without a sat nav. But they were minor things.
