Overnight stay with three meals
Pros:

To start with the highlight, the service at the restaurant for dinner was simply amazing. Our servers were Catrina and Massimo, who were, attentive, friendly, and helped advise on indecisions over which menu items to pick. They really did make the great food into a more memorable dining experience.

From a hotel perspective, the front of house staff were excellent, being helpful and knowledgeable. The room was plentifully large, with a large bathroom, bath and shower with jet options. My only niggle is that the bed was two twins so the split between matresses was noticeable, but not a huge issue.

On the spa side, features were standard, seating possibly a little light on the count. Three saunas, one in each changing room and a mixed, were small but hot. Steam rooms were only accessible in the changing rooms, no mixed availability. The pool was huge and divided for swim speeds, never too busy due to the size.

The hydropool is a different jacuzzi experience, with zones having different jets to try and target different muscles. However, it was busy except late in the evening.

Overall, will definitely visit again, but maybe target midweek rather then a weekend.

4 night break away
Pros:

A beautiful secluded location, with a calm and serene atmosphere. I accompanied an elderly friend for a 4 night break and we had a lovely time. We received an unexpected room upgrade, so found the room spacious. The staff were attentive and made us feel welcome. A particular mention to the waiters Massimo and Catrina for the service at one of our dinners, who gave us good recommendations.

The facilities are looking a little tired, but are functional. There was a good choice of classes, it was a shame that they weren't included in the stay but we're an additional cost. These did need to be booked in advance. The classes did not start on time and therefore we felt a little short changed. The instructors should be in the room to greet the participants arriving and guiding them on what mats/weights etc they might need.

The treatments were lovely but there is a hard sell at the end to buy more champneys/affiliated products, which is a little off putting.

Overall, a very nice experience and seemed to be good value for this type of break away.

Warm Friday night stay!
Pros:

Have been to this Champneys many times and some times better than others.

What really made it this time was the evening meal with a great breadth of selection on the seasonal menu.

Beef cheek was delicious with a bottle of apassimento. perfect combo! The walnut ginger and mascarpone dessert washed down with a limoncello from the bar.

Catrina served us and was brilliant, helping and complimenting our wine pairing but most importantly just so relaxed and made everything that bit more special. Someone who clearly loves and is passionate about their job.

Thanks Catrina!

Champney springs restaurant
Pros:

The Staff here were so so so lovely. Libby sat us down and explained everything perfectly, Massimo was very attentive during our time at the restaurant too. Charlotte served us and was very polite and officiant. I’m vegan and all my dietary requirements were met and all staff were very good with ensuring my needs were met. We have given four stars not five just because we were a little disappointed with our main course. We were given a free dessert plate for our birthdays which was an amazing surprise and very appreciated. Our favourite server was catrina who was so friendly we really got on with her she is amazing! Thank you to all the team

Great experience during our stay, but what a poor experience in booking
Pros:

My review is in two parts: arrival onwards: excellent, pre arrival pathetic.

One you arrive at Springs you can feel the weight of the world slipping by. This really is a very nice place. A nice warm welcome, a tour of the facilities and then to the room. The rooms are spacious, comfy and we had a lovely small balcony looking over the countryside. The resort is really well equipped with excellent pool, gym and wellness facilities and what we really liked was there are loads of comfy chairs everywhere. The food for breakfast and lunch was buffet style, with a good selection and good quality. Evening meals are served and are really very good. So thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

However before arrival, the booking process is an embarrassment. I had various questions to ask before booking, particularly because my wife had been given lots of treatment vouchers. However trying to get someone to answer is impossible…I tried several numbers, each waiting over 30 minutes without answer. So in the end I just booked online and hoped that my questions could be answered on site. My wife then tried to book treatments online. Oh you have to download an app. Which she did, decided which sessions she wanted and tried to book, to find that there is no where to input the voucher codes🙈. So she called and waited and waited, with someone finally answering and was able to make the bookings. It certainly feels like Champney’s have made all of their call staff redundant, apart from one lady who works from home and can fit in answering calls between feeding the children, walking the dog, etc, etc. A company of this size need to get their act together!

Pros:

Enjoyed catch-up with friend

Meals fabulous but rooms need updating.
Window wouldn't close and lock catch-up was broken
hair clips on floor ie .carpet not hoovered
cleaner came into room at 930am before I had vacated it ( check.out 11am)
hole in duvet cover
many windows by the pool area had " blown" and we could not see through them.
There was a green alge on drain vents round main pool.
Main pool water was cool .
I felt whole resort needs a good update.
Staff helpful

Absolutely fabulous!
Pros:

Absolutely fabulous!
Much more than we expected and the staff can’t do enough for you.

Catrina & Massimo served us at dinner both nights and they were friendly, attentive and very hospitable.
The level of service was impeccable and the food is amazing!

The girls that did our treatments (Emme, Faye, Jeanette & Ruby) were absolutely brilliant too.
Well done girls.

We also did a stretch class with Jane and I can’t tell you how on point she was with her queues and tempo.
Again, couldn’t ask for more.

All in all, from front of house welcome to checking out was a delightful experience.

Superstar Catrinax!
Pros:

Me and my mum have been coming to Champneys together for nearly 20 years and Catrinax in the restaurant is the best member of staff I’ve come across (at champneys or anywhere else).
I’m 28 weeks pregnant and have been struggling with food but Catrinax went above and beyond to make my meal enjoyable- it made such a difference to our stay to be looked after so well!

Excellent service and thoughtful staff!
Pros:

We had a really lovely experience here. The service was excellent and Catrina and Massimo were both incredibly attentive and friendly throughout our visit. One thing that really stood out was that the staff noticed we hadn’t eaten the side dish and kindly removed it from the bill without us even asking, which was a very thoughtful touch. Overall great service and a very pleasant evening — we’d definitely return!

Pros:

I would like to say a big thank you to champneys who made my birthday experience excellent. From the happy birthday piped on a plate of cakes waiting in the bedroom to the dinner service waited on by Catrina and Massimu as a premier service. They were so attentive and helped me with my choices as too many lovely options available and .ade my sister and I feel very special. Food was outstanding matching tbe quality of the service.

Overall a pleasant experience
Pros:

We stayed at Champneys Springs for a 2 night return package break. We've been a couple of times before and was still impressed. We felt so relaxed and everything was easy. Food was so good, we are both vegetarian.

We both used apprentices for our treatments and were both really happy with them.

The only criticism is having to wait an eternity to be served at the bar. I don't know if the bar staff are told to not engage, but both times they have been quite robotic and not very much eye contact or queue management. It is the only break in an otherwise smooth and friendly experience.

I had extra special care when I left my pyjamas behind by accident and I spoke to Jodie in housekeeping who kindly located them for me and sent to me at home! I was so grateful <3
