I liked having a roof over my head
The location is honestly terrible but that’s not necessarily the fault of the hotel. But our room smelled like terrible chemicals. It made me a bit sick but beggars can’t be choosers sometimes.
This stay reminded us exactly why Hilton continues to lose our loyalty. Time and time again, it’s not the buildings that disappoint us. It’s the people representing the brand.
We arrived shortly after midnight after a very long day of traveling, hoping for nothing more than a place to sleep. Instead, from the moment we walked through the doors, the front desk associate, Lanice, made it abundantly clear that she did not want to deal with us. There wasn’t a smile, a welcome, or even the slightest attempt to make us feel like valued guests. Every interaction felt cold, dismissive, and simply rude. She repeatedly rolled her eyes, answered questions with a condescending tone, and acted as though every question we asked was an annoyance.
I kindly explained that I wanted to use my Chase Travel points for the stay, but because it was already after midnight, I couldn’t complete the reservation through the Chase Travel portal. I simply asked if there was any way around that or if Hilton could help. Instead of offering any explanation or trying to assist, I was immediately told there was no way to do it and quoted $199 for the room. No explanation. No alternatives. No attempt to help.
My husband, who is an Army amputee, then politely asked if the hotel offered a military discount. Before he could even finish his question, Lanice responded, “Military has nothing to do with it.” She assumed we were referring to Hilton Honors when we were simply asking if the hotel offered a military rate. A simple, courteous answer would have sufficed, but instead we were met with another cold, condescending response.
Since we didn’t arrive until after midnight, I also asked if there was any flexibility with checkout. The first question was, “Are you Gold or Diamond?” When I said no, she immediately replied that there would be no late checkout and that housekeeping would be knocking on our door at 11:30. Again, the answer wasn’t the problem. The attitude was.
While we were still checking in, another gentleman walked up behind us. He was incredibly polite, patient, and respectful, yet he was met with the exact same eye rolls, dismissive responses, and uninterested attitude we had experienced. Watching someone else receive the same treatment confirmed that this wasn’t just an isolated interaction with us.
Maybe she was having a “bad day”. We all have them. She also had no idea what kind of day my family had experienced before walking through those doors, yet we still chose to treat her with kindness and respect. Having a bad day is never a license to treat other people with disrespect. A little kindness and basic courtesy can make all the difference.
This is what continues to push us away from Hilton. The rooms can be updated, the beds can be comfortable, and the lobby can look beautiful, but none of that matters if the people representing your brand make guests feel like an inconvenience the moment they walk through the door.
To make matters worse, we didn’t get to sleep until after 1:00 a.m. After finally falling asleep, our room phone rang at 8:30 a.m., waking us up. Then it rang again at 10:30 a.m. We never requested wake-up calls, and no one could explain why they happened. Being awakened twice after such a late check-in was an unnecessary interruption that only added to an already disappointing stay.
Hospitality isn’t about saying yes to every request. It’s about treating people with respect, showing a little compassion, and making guests feel welcome, even when the answer is no.
The room itself was decent, but it certainly wasn’t thoroughly cleaned. It was acceptable for one night, but it lacked the attention to detail I expected.
For nearly $200 a night, I expected a much higher standard across the board. That means a cleaner room, better customer service, and employees who understand that people choose Hilton because they expect a certain level of hospitality. This Hampton Inn fell well short of that standard and served as yet another reminder of why Hilton continues to lose our loyalty.
it was an excellent experience and I would definitely like to return for future stay
Nothing. I love it
As Diamond members, we stay at a lot of hotels within the Hilton family on our road trips. There are very few that we will not return to and this is one of them. When we first pulled up, the doors had signs taped to them that said "Out Of Order" on one side and "No Vacancy" on the other. My husband went around to the side door to check the room and then came back out the front doors that, contrary to sign, were not out of order. When we loaded up the cart and went in, there was no one at the desk and the phone was ringing off the hook. We made two trips up and down and the phone was just ringing away. Finally, someone came out of the back room and answered it. I know it was early am when we arrived (super late arrival?) but still, no one was at the desk even with the phone ringing off the hook. The room itself had an odd smell to it, I couldn't quite place it and there were stains on the carpet. When looking at the beds, I noticed the dust ruffle was full of fur. So obviously a pet had been in there, which is fine, but housekeeping didn't clean up properly after them.Pillows were super flat, even with 2 stacked. Beds were okay. They weren't the best, but they also weren't the worst. Water pressure in the shower wasn't great. As far as breakfast, by 8:30, there were no muffins, bagels, or pastries left. There were 2 slices of bread. There were no cold selections like yogurt or fruit. Coffee was empty in both the breakfast area and the lobby. We ended up going to McDonalds so that we could get coffee and breakfast. I mean, breakfast went until 10. Things should be restocked. We will not be returning to this Hilton. I suggest skipping this one as a stopping point.
Staff great
Pet friendly and free breakfast. Beds are amazing

Was charged extra when I got to the room , paid full in Jan for one day stay in May , charged 60 extra for pet fees , 243 to stay for one night ! Last time I’ll step in the place and I have a big mouth !
Friendly staff. Clean room. Comfy beds. Great breakfast options.
Decent and comfortable.
In the middle of nowhere. No local restaurants close by. Very expensive.
The WiFi was down so I couldn’t finish an important project. No coffee machine at night. Front desk said it will be available in the morning. That didn’t happen. Had to go to a local MacDonalds to purchase some.
