it is a convenient location when traveling through Newark. the rooms are good size and clean.
They advertised a restaurant for dinner but it was closed. The recommendations given by the concierge were not updated, and some in not a very good location for people not familiar with the area.
The woman that helped me was so kind and considerate. Her name ended in two EE’s. I’m so appreciative of her!
It was very quiet, which is what I always appreciate most of Courtyard.
The hotel hallways and overall there was a dirty/dingy look to it.
It is convenient to the airport.
The cost. Very expensive with room, parking and pet fees. The rooms are not well lit and a bit dreary.
Dinner closed very early.
No dinner
It was a convenient location, the staff was extremely polite and courteous, the room was spacious and comfortable. Overall a great experience

Conveniently located, airport shuttle and dog friendly.
Extremely expensive between parking, room and mandatory pet fee.
Check in time is 3pm. Arrived at 5:20pm. 8 guests already in line at the desk. Ofc only one representative to help. Halfway through another rep comes out to help. Finally our turn and we learn rooms aren’t ready yet but will be “momentarily”. An hour later-and only after I get in line again to say we have dinner and show tickets do they get us fully checked in. The room was passable but drawers were missing handles and the shelf in the shower was missing. Pretty much a horrible experience.
I was shocked to get there and find out that other than breakfast, that's the only food or drink they serve. To add insult to injury they have an electronic billboard on posters, advertising food and cocktails, but they don't serve any of them. Terrible for a traveler. Especially a lifetime titanium elite. The hotel is really tired and the carpet looks like it hasn't been cleaned for years.
Great location at the airport. Front desk staff and shuttle drivers were friendly and helpful. I booked this Courtyard for the bistro to be able to get dinner at the hotel since I didn't have a car, and unfortunately it was only open for breakfast. Not sure if it was a staffing issue or what, but there are even brochures for dinner in the rooms. Also, the phone number for this location in the BonVoy app had a prompt for accessing the shuttle at the airport that was incorrect. It told you to go to the wrong stop on the train and incorrectly described the shuttle as black. Housekeeping daily was great.
At the beginning and end of the day, the hospitality industry is made up of dedicated folks committed to customer service. What I can say without hesitation is that over the years, anytime I've stayed at the Courtyard I've met the most dedicated of employees. The location is excellent. The shuttle to the airport has never let me down. The rooms are exactly as described. Kudos to its management and employees
I only write positive reviews when I have a good time because I understand the impact of a negative review on a hotel’s performance indicators. However, this hotel had way too many issues and I wanted to share the feedback with management instead of this platform but she was just as bad.
It was a very disappointing stay at a Marriott hotel, especially given the brand’s usual standards. The problems started with the unprofessional and robotic response received from the agent on the GXP chat prior to my arrival. This was followed by the check-in, where the experience was poor and the young lady was unfriendly/just unpleasant and seemed bothered.
Once in the room, cleanliness was unacceptable. There was hair in the shower, the AC vent was visibly dirty, and the carpet had a noticeable unpleasant smell. This is not what I expect from a Marriott property.
Management was another major issue. The Director of Operations was particularly unpleasant, which I witnessed firsthand during her interaction with my friend when we went to purchase items from the hotel store. The interaction was unprofessional and uncomfortable to watch.
On the morning of checkout, which is not until 12:00 noon, two different room attendants knocked on our door within 7 minutes of each other at 9:20 a.m. This was not only intrusive but woke us up twice unnecessarily.
Overall, the lack of cleanliness in and outside of the room, unfriendly staff, and unprofessional management made this stay very disappointing. This experience fell far below Marriott standards, and I would not recommend or visit this hotel again.
Nothing about this property equals the quality of a BONVOY property. The Fitness room had all broken equipment. The Bistro isn't open for dinner as advertised. I requested my room to be cleaned all 3 days of my stay and they did not clean once. SAVED ME TIP Money. The heater/air conditioner both blew. Just an overall awful experience. As a titanium elite member, the Operations Manager would ot provide the 2 waters bottles expected as my status. Her comment is that if she provided that there would not be enough for others who are checking in.
We are on the ground floor and we hearing noise all night from outside and upper floor
the location to airport
Cost of stay is not reasonable-room is dusty, staffs not very helpful, free drinking water not even provided
Overall, my stay at this hotel was fairly decent. If I had to critique anything, it would be the checking in process with the staff. The member that checked me and didn’t have the most welcoming energy. I also noticed that I had to request water bottles that I saw them giving to other elite status members, but didn’t offer me one and I too am an elite status member (Platinum Elite to be specific). There were other details that I encountered during my check-in process that didn’t necessarily sit right with me. This property is usually my last resort because this isn’t the first time that I received unwelcoming energy when checking in. It’s still served his purpose with giving me a warm place to stay for the night.
Great hotel and incredibly friendly staff. Shuttle to the airport and train was seamless. Nice breakfast options
