The room itself was excellent: clean, tidy, comfortable, and well maintained. I was very pleased with the accommodation.
Unfortunately, my experience with the service was much less positive. When I arrived, I explained that I have a disability and that I had been evacuated because of the wildfires in Madrid. I was feeling physically and emotionally unwell and asked whether some food could be brought to my room. Staff refused because of hotel policy.
I understand that rules exist for a reason, but I believe some flexibility and compassion should be shown when a guest is dealing with a disability and an emergency situation. I felt that my circumstances were not taken seriously and that I was treated without the kindness or understanding I needed at that moment.
I became upset and spoke in a way that I regret, and I sincerely apologise for that. However, I was in an extremely distressed state, and I still believe the situation could have been handled with greater empathy and professionalism.
Overall, the room was very good, but the way my request and personal circumstances were handled was disappointing and, in my opinion, unacceptable
