Avohnn was at the desk and greeted me with the most supportive smile. She announced my Honors status for the world to here. This made me feel good. I'll be back because she made me feel totally welcomed
Staff and room furnishings
Nothing
I actually thought the location was perfect but was soon reminded why I preferred the other downtown location. Check in went well.
I wasn’t able to control the temperature(either too cold or too hot), tub and sink clogged, therefore had to shower in tub filling with water & when unclogged by maintenance, debris was left in tub and sink therefore WE bought Clorox to clean it, pet owners or someone should be mandated to clean pet poop from parking area. I have never been dissatisfied with a Homewood experience but this one was not satisfying.
We liked the breakfast. And some staff members were nice like the morning front desk staff and manager and kitchen
Compared to the pictures online, it doesn’t look that luxurious. The sheets were dirty and the bathroom is quite small and not that clean.
I was disappointed and unhappy with my stay from the moment I checked in. The front desk associate was not welcoming and came across as rude. My first room had a sofa covered in stains, and the entry door was difficult to open. I requested another room, but that room also had stained flooring, bed skirt and malfunctioning entry door. The condition of both rooms did not meet the standards I expect from a Homewood Suites. I hope the hotel improves its housekeeping, maintenance, and customer service.
Let’s start with the check-in process. I called around noon on the day that I was booked to arrive, to see about possibly checking in early. I was told the room was not ready. Understandable. Killed time until about 2:30p (check in is at 3p), approached the rep at the desk and was told again that it wasn’t ready. Waited in my car until 3:05p, came back in, received my card key and stay details from a very lackadaisical rep who seemed very uninterested in being at work that day. Arrived at my room to find the door propped open via the engaged bolt lock. Inside I noticed all cabinet doors, drawers, microwave door, pull out sleeper couch, all open! Everything seemed as if it wasn’t even inspected. After retrieving a manager to witness the state of the room, she confirmed that the room wasn’t inspected and offered to put us in another room. Returned to the unenthusiastic rep who swapped my room without remorse or concern for the inconvenience. Fast forward to check out, I stop to fuel up and my card is declined. I check my banking app to notice my account is overdrawn due to being double charged for my room. I prepaid for my room on the Hilton app, and then Homewood Suites decided to charge me again for the same room. When I called to bring this to their attention, I was told that there was nothing they could do because all “they see on their end” is a single charge for the room, and was recommended that I dispute the charge with my bank 😒. I called Hilton customer service and they reached out to the property, and after 10 min on hold, they return with no other resolution but to escalate this to the property manager and I will hopefully receive contact of a resolution within 48hrs. Repetition of the phrase “we need to investigate,” when the proof is on my bank statement. I recommend staying far away from this hotel, but if you happen to stay here and have already prepaid for your room, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CARD, for any reason. Save yourself the drama and lack of intentional help.
I liked how close it was to the zoo. I liked that there was a complimentary breakfast. Never stayed the first night thought because how dirty the rooms were.
My room was disgusting, it was on the 2nd floor. They gave me a new room, it was still dirty, gave me another one, it was also dirty. Both of those rooms were on the 4th floor. I had to go to a different hotel.
Breakfast was good and evening reception was nice.
The fire alarm went off every hour all night long. We had to evacuate around 9 PM with all of our children from the fifth floor, which was frustrating and then being awakened all night long with the loud fire. Alarm was really frustrating. We didn’t get any apologies from the staff although otherwise I would’ve said it was a good place and I like Homewood suites.
Everything
How close we were to everything. Breakfast and staff were nice.
Lots of stains and damage to the room itself. There was a random door we believe went to the room next to us as well. All of the dishes were dirty and sitting on top of cabinets that had a good bit of water damage. There was a smell in the room as well as the floor feeling too dirty to remove shoes.
