All ok. The sofa bed for two people was extremely small. Not quite a double and not very comfortable.
easy access to Darlington ,convenient stay
The public areas were nice and modern. The room we had was in need of upkeep. For example, the linoleum in front of the sink was lifted up. There was a loose tile in the toilet/shower room with missing grout. It was confusing... There was a portable radiator and a fan - and then some kind of blower unit above the door. Only a dry iron was provided.
Good for a overnight stay.
We thought we’d stay in a Holiday Inn because we thought it would be more upmarket than our usual Premier Inn stays.. how wrong. This is a tired soulless motorway service station stop. Apparently only 4 rooms have baths and they’re charged out at executive suite rates. This wasn’t clear at booking. The glass shower door rattled like it was going to come off its hinges, the shower and toilet reminded us of being on an overnight ferry. Rooms are tired, small tv, the staff had forgotten to make up a sofa bed for the kids. The doors were heavy with gnarled and worn wood, and banged constantly, resulting in very poor sleep. Meal for 4 was extortionate and very poor quality for the money charged. Very poor selection of drinks at the bar.
Fine for the miriad of workmen and suited salesmen but very little comfort to speak of.

Very friendly and comfortable.
Overall pretty good- room was decent size, clean, beds were comfy and breakfast was nice- the only thing that let it down a tad was the booking was for 3 people and yet there was only 2 of everything (water glass, mugs, tea bags etc).
We stay here often it is always a good breakfast and very clean bedrooms comfy beds and the staff are very helpful and always pleasant
