Inconvenient entry, no elevator. Door to room didn't open all the way because it hit the bed. Paid $23.00 for a non-existent breakfast.
front desk lady was very rude
Pulling up to this place was sketchy. The front looked like the back of a hotel. The room had a very strong smell of cleaning supplies so we had to leave the window open all night. The window had no screen with a rather large drop to the bottom. Not safe for kids!! The shower also wasn’t hot, at most it was almost warm. Not to mention, it was almost $200 a night!
The shower curtain was sour and you could smell it the moment you entered the room. Staff thought it would be a good idea to power wash the parking lot at 330am waking me up half the night. The lobby, elevator and halls were incredibly hot.
Theres was issues with the stay, room was very small no space. Doors didnt lock all the way. No parking.
The room was clean and the stay was relatively inexpensive. I had to get a new room key each day of my stay. There were a few holes in the walls of the room and the bathroom hair dryer had its cord cut so it didn’t work. The parking is very limited. The area felt safe and there was plenty of things to do nearby if you don’t a short walk.
.
Not terrible if you’re on a budget for a night or two.
Boys at reception was very nice and helpful
I wouldn't recommend the Hotel Key but I also wouldn't tell people to avoid it. The location in Flushing is great, and the price was fair given the circumstances, but the hotel/room condition was disappointing. Part of the lobby ceiling fell a foot away from me while I was checking in because of recent water damage. My car was bumped into because an angry guest couldn't find parking (the parking lot only fits 10 cars). A guest was blasting music at 1am to mask the sounds of love making and then a hotel employee was loudly talking on the phone with family while cleaning the same room at 4am. I highly suspect the hotel provides rooms by the hour for a certain clientele. I would not recommend the hotel for families, or anyone expecting a quiet, luxurious stay, but for a single guy or young couple looking for an affordable option to stay in NYC it's not bad. The staff was friendly, and did the best they could given the situation.
Easy Check in
It was good
The hotel itself is decent on the inside. Aside from the rude front staff and faint cigarette smell in the air, this hotel was clean and reasonably priced. Be warned: they advertise free parking, but there are only 8 spaces for that entire hotel to use. You will be fighting over parking. It really wasn't too bad for the price.
The property’s shower was unclean and had lots of black mold & markings, most of the plugs in the room were loose and it just felt like the room was not worth the amount of money we spent. At least a hotel should be clean & not have mold in the showers and ALL of the plugs working.
Access terrible for handicapped. Many stairs to get in and no functioning elevator. No restaurants nearby. But generally otherwise clean and OK.
The shower water was not hot at all. Rooms are super small. Beds were uncomfortable. The mini fridge was unplugged n broke, no microwave. The rooms were not worth the money that was spent on them. No breakfast here unfortunately. Vending machine for the snacks didnt work. Spda machine had 5 different kinds to choose from. Half of the cans were bubbled up riggt where you open the tab at. My key card had to be reactivated twice after the initial activation. Parking spaces are super super tight. Do not recommend bringing in a big vehicle if you decide to stay here. Im sure im forgetting some things, but overall not a good experience. Oh and if you dont loke hearing plans constantly this place isnt for you. That part doesnt bother me but it was noisy and loud around there over all.
Place is very cheap, but pretty dirty, not well kept up. Close to LGA but not a great area.
I wish I could upload pictures, the room was dirty there were roaches
All night music from other room.
My room was so noisy because out side of my windows was big IC engine made my night the worst night ever
The room number was 106 it’s the horrible room .
Due to a late night cancelled flight, I had to book the closest hotel to LGA to get on my rebooked flight the next day. The hotel was in a shady neighboorhood and didn't have much choice. That said, it was sufficient for what I needed, but would NEVER recommend anyone stay here unless necessary. The bathroom was flithy, there was nothing to drink out of, and they didn't have any items in the vending machines. However I made it out alive and back to LGA via Uber
