Great hotel
Pros:

Checked in around 530pm or so and were told our room wasn't ready, staff provided us with drink vouchers and asked us to wait about 30 minutes. We went and got a drink and relaxed, about 15 minutes later, staff told us they were ready and we checked in. Upon arriving to the room, we realized they upgraded us which was a great gesture. The hotel is a bit dated, but very clean and very comfortable. Definitely would return.

Pros:

Great location for going to the zoo/Mcwane science center. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was great. All staff were very kind and helpful.

Five out of five stars.
Pros:

I stay at this location any time I am in Birmingham for business and have never had any issues. It is always clean and well maintained and conveniently located just off I-65 in an area with plenty of meal options if you decide not to use the hotel breakfast or dinner bar.
