Hotel Neri – Relais & Chateaux

The location was excellent, right in the middle of the gothic quarter and near many lovely restaurants. The staff was extremely kind and accommodating. I loved the decor and style of the hotel. It was very clean. The apartments set up great for a family of 4 traveling together. Pool on the roof a plus!

Best hotel in Barcelona. Quiet luxury and warm hospitality. Left there feeling like family. Thoma was AMAZING, along with the entire staff. And the beds, the best. I slept like a rock. Highly recommend for its location. Did I mention they have a pool!?! One tip - don’t prebook your transfer. Cab it or ask hotel to arrange in advance. Location is a little tricky to get to in large vans.

Wonderful experience. The location in the heart of old Barcelona makes exploring the gothic quarter easy. The rooms are nice, clean, good A/C, and nice views of quiet plazas. The restaurant was good. Thomas was amazing welcoming us. Every team member we met was fantastic. Truly fantastic experience.

First of all: The atmosphere, tranquillity, design and rooftop terrace are exceptional. So is the staff.

However, this stay made me wonder whether some of the rooms have ever been tested from the perspective of actually using them as a guest (who paid several hundred euros per night).

The open shampoo and conditioner containers with cork lids are, to me, genuinely unhygienic. I found myself wondering who had already reached into them before me. A question I frankly don’t want to ask myself in a luxury hotel.

The containers also get really slippery. And the lids often don’t even fit the containers which makes shampoo, conditioner etc mix with water.

There were several other small but frustrating details in our room: towel holders that were too small for the heavy towels, an extremely delicate soap dish, and a coffee/tea setup where the tea/sugar was difficult to reach under the kettle.

None of these things is a major issue on its own. But together, they made the room feel surprisingly impractical for a hotel of this caliber.
We hope this feedback is taken seriously: the beautiful aesthetic of the Neri deserves practical and hygienic details that work just as well.

My husband and I stayed at this lovely hotel early August. It was beautiful, comfortable, and staffed by wonderful people! The restaurant served excellent meals and the hotel is conveniently located to everything. We highly recommend The Nero hotel!!

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Neri! The hotel is beautiful, and despite booking quite late, we were offered an alternative apartment option that worked really well for us. Great location, close to the metro and few steps from Basilica. The hospitality was excellent from start to finish, and Thoma was especially welcoming and made us feel right at home! Dining was excellent. We would happily stay again!

Amazing location in the heart of the Gothic quarter! Warning that if you DO get a taxi there are super narrow streets that the taxi may have difficulty navigating.

We were very lucky to come in and have early check-in which we appreciated. They held our bags as we scouted the area. The rooms felt very modern and sophisticated with tall windows and a high ceiling. The amenities in the room especially the organic shampoo/lotion felt very luxurious. Keep in mind the nuts next to the hair dryer are NOT free- they are still part of the minibar even when they're not in there (a tasty miscommunication).

Our room came with breakfast included and every day we were impressed. Yes I ordered the same thing every day but the juices felt freshly squeezed, the yogurt and fruits organic, the pancakes light and fluffy, the iberian ham 10/10. Breakfast is WORTH YOUR MONEY!! Lovely host, lovely front desk, and they even received a package for me.

We chose Neri, because they offered accommodation for the families with the kids, there was a room with an salon where there was a sofa that was used for the kids. Very convenient, as they are in the same place with you and not in another hotel room where you dont see and dont hear them. The room was nice, fully furnished, even had a small kitchen. The room was clean, cleaned every day. They location in the gothic quarter was charming and nice, but had its price - although not too much, but there was some noise, for a person not sensitive to noise it could be ok, but for someone sensitive might be problematic. They also have a nice restaurant, and a really nice breakfast a la carte. The service was very nice and pleasant. Generally I really recommend this hotel, especially to the families with kids.

We enjoyed a warm welcome from a highly personable team. Neri is set in a charming tranquil oasis within the Gothic Quarter. Our well maintained apartment presented as a tasteful blend of traditional structural elements with contemporary accents and It delivered peaceful quietude, ideal for a good night's sleep. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts and friendly professional service. A good choice.

We loved the hotel for our three nights in Barcelona. It had a great location, helpful staff, and excellent food. And it was great to have help booking dinner reservations, a few taxis, and somehow the hotel was able to get us tickets to Sarada Familia when it was all booked up. My wife and I would love to return.

Hotel Neri is now my favorite hotel in Barcelona. It’s so charming. The staff is incredible. Food was amazing. We stayed in the apartment and it was fantastic especially being able to cook a little bit. Super comfortable exceptionally well located… our first time staying in that area and we loved it. It was filled to the brim with charm.
