well the location was perfect and the staff where nice and accommodating
the pillows where to soft and shower was awkward to operate and the bin in the room had no bin bag even though they clarified that was the setup of the bin

We turned up at 4:00PM Sat Aug 1. I did not get the name of the guy who checked us in but he was possibly the best, most helpful hotel staff member I have ever dealt with in my 59 years of traveling. Give this guy a raise. The best!

Bathroom could do with a better clean
Location: just opposite the Langham and next to bridge over Yarra into Flinders station.
Check In: Arrived 1.56 pm for a 2PM check in. Lone reception staff said room was not ready and would let us know. No welcome as an Accor Siver member. Waited for 20 minutes, in the meanwhile 15 Air crew and another 4 rooms checked in and given room cards. Would help if they had more than one staff at peak check in time. Finally, we were taken to a self-check in and told to do it there. Whistle checking in we started to ask if we could have a slightly late check and before we could finish saying that we were Silver members, we were cut short and told no, hotel is busy.
Room: We choose was a superior Queen room with buffet breakfast. Asked for a room not next to lifts so was given a room next to the guest laundry. I guess they didn't understand Quiet room.
Room Size: is decent, can't open blinds as room in the V and other rooms can look in.
Could not lower the temperature as even in low temperature it was till blowing hot air. Really need to update their bathrooms.
House Keeping: Room was clean.
Buffet Breakfast: Is ground floor and not very big, especially if the hotel was full. Went 7.45 AM. Not too many tables then. First thing you notice is how cold the restaurant was and second thing is that you are asked to pay extra and upgrade if you wanted a Barista coffee. We just used the coffee machine.
The Breakfast: Basic spread missed that there were no Hashbrowns. Bacon was lumped together and stone cold. Scrambled eggs were cold and super lumpy, like in cubes. Staff didn't offer to make any other style of eggs so just missed the eggs. Nice touch on the Asian noodles, just too oily. The bread selection was very good. They could really do with an improvement in both the food and the breakfast room.
The big plus is the location. Access to Flinders Street Station and the city. Once you get a hang of the Self check in and check out, it helps during busy times. Also, two Wilson parking lots next door if wanting to park car overnight and a seven eleven round the corner.
Hated electronic check in when the reception staff were standing there with nothing to do.
