Virginia Hotel

We decided to book a last minute dinner/stay for New Year’s Eve at The Virginia. (This would have been our 5th visit over the last few years)

The next morning (new year’s eve), the whole family woke up with the flu. We called first thing in the AM and asked for a credit knowing they wouldn’t likely refund.

We went back and forth with management; they were rude, unaccommodating and refused to help in any way. They said they were a small hotel with small margins - please…they amount they charge, they could own all of Cape May. Actually, they do; It’s one of the many hotels under Cape May resorts!

Extremely disappointed in the customer service. This hotel is only out for profit and I wouldn’t doubt they rebooked our room and made double! Shame on them. Buyer beware!

I loved our stay here so much and can’t wait to go back and experience it during the summer. The hotel was so cozy and beautifully decorated for Christmas and the staff was top notch. Location made for an easy walk to the beach and all of the Christmas activities we wanted to do. We also had dinner at The Ebbitt Room one night and enjoyed. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend.

Our stay at the Virginia Hotel was excellent. Even though we only stayed one night, the staff and comfort of the Hotel made this a very memorable experience. We went to Cape May to celebrate my wife's Birthday. Prior to our stay, I communicated with their concierge to order Birthday Ballons and Chocolate covered strawberries for the room for our arrival. Everything was carried our flawlessly.
We will definitely return, for more than one night.

The Southern suite is the bottom floor of Red Cottage spacious well furnished luxury linens large kitchen just a great space for a group to gather, also its own porch space. The valets are excellent and unloaded a group of women with tons of luggage graciously and expertly. The service overall is superb the front desk and Hanna do a great job. The Virginia room bar with fireplaces lit and music at night is across the street, best social spot place in Cape May with great food and service by Leo. Prime spot in Cape May with down from the beach and mall.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They strive for a pleasant stay! Room was clean and comfortable. Food was excellent at the hotel restaurant.

The Virginia was a wonderful, historic hotel with amazing details inside. All of the staff were just amazing. The breakfast allowed you to pick from a menu:
Juice (Pick from 3 options)
Coffee
Sweet (Pick from a list of options)
Savory (Pick from a list of options)
Options provided a good mix of healthy and yummy choices. You could also pick where you wanted breakfast: In your room, in the dining room, front porch, or in a parlor with a fireplace.

Kind staff. Quaint and located in the heart of Cape May just steps away from Washington Street and the beach. They have a decent gym at The Sand Piper - this the the gym the Virginia Hotel guests use. Will definitely be back! Quick babymoon getaway with my husband :)

Breakfast Service -extremely short staffed - 40 minutes in and no coffee or utensils-( and this after filling a card out every night for time and order)
Beds super comfortable, European linens, Avoid Room 302 if noise and food smells bother you as this is directly above the garden dining area! Cocktail hour service is perfect and ERoom dining always a treat! Beach area with Cabana, towel, and chair service is truly a treat! Have their signature Watermelon Mint and Coconut Cocktail- it is amazing!

This was our 4th stay at The Virginia and it never disappoints. The charming porch is the perfect place to unwind after a day at the beach. Location can’t be beat with endless shops and restaurants within walking distance. Rooms and beds are modest in size but comfortable. The Ebbitt restaurant and bar is one of the best in town.

This was our second visit at the Virginia and yet again , we loved it! Friendly and attentive staff, great service, lovely ambiance and great amenities. We love the complimentary breakfast out on the porch and the ability to use the pool at The Congress Hall. Looking forward to our next trip back!

Had a pleasant day sitting on porch noticed an employee scraping off sidewalk need I say more attention to detail was impeccable.

Ok my husband & I have been coming to Cape May for 23 years and have never splurged on the Virginia Hotel before but I think they have spoiled us absolutely rotten. The vibe is accessible generational wealth with luxury and personalized attention at EVERY turn! If you have a special occasion to celebrate like surviving another day in 2025, this is the #1 place in Cape May, hands down. From the front desk at check in to the waiter Jay at breakfast, just top notch friendly service with a smile and the nicest people I have ever dealt with since Vince & Leslie retired from the Mooring. You will NEVER want to leave.

Now the dinner was incredible and I think there’s a Michelin star chef (if not he really should be). I had steak that was cooked to perfection and served in a demi glace sauce like duck. The preparation & presentation was amazing. My husband had the chicken and is still raving about it. The star was also the dessert. It was a chocolate tart with berry sauce and it was like eating Godiva truffles in cake form with an amazing crust of perfectly ground nuts.

The decor is absolutely exquisite. Again the decor makes the Virginia one of the most gorgeous hotels I have ever seen but it also is accessible and homey and not over the top. You feel like you’re staying in a rambling Rockefeller summer cottage with surprises and views at every turn.

I literally don’t have anything to put on the con list. Normally I like to do a pro and con list but it’s impossible because there is none!! Run to your laptop or phone & book this place NOW!!!

Overall incredible experience. The staff was fantastic and the town is beyond adorable. The location was amazing and in walking distance of everything.

Location, Location, Location. Ebbitt room provides a wonderful dinner. Porch is great for people watching. Ambiance and vibe enhanced by the hotel bar.

Top drawer sraff, location, service and food. Doesn't miss a beat. Location ery short walk near beach and beach service very special.

Front porch breakfast the best.
