A few hours after checking in, my allergy became much worse due to the condition of the room. It was extremely dusty, especially behind the TV, and I have photos and videos as evidence. The excessive dust aggravated my allergy, making it a serious health and safety concern.
The bed was also very itchy, and when I took an extra comforter from the wardrobe, it had a strong unpleasant smell. I reported these issues to the night manager, who moved me to another room. While the second room was not dusty, the pillowcases and blanket still had an unacceptable odor.
I chose not to complain further because I didn’t want to ruin my hard-earned holiday. However, the dusty condition of the first room caused my allergy to flare up and should be addressed, as it poses a genuine health and safety risk for guests.
I am deeply disappointed with how I was treated as a guest. I hope the hotel will take responsibility and provide appropriate compensation for the inconvenience and distress I experienced. The issues I encountered throughout my stay made what should have been a relaxing holiday extremely unpleasant. No guest should have to deal with these conditions, especially when they affect their health and well-being.
Clean and comfortable. Short walk into the town centre and the staff were all lovely and coffee machine at reception is great for a morning coffee before you head out
No minibar or room service. Can always Uber eats two not a huge issue
Rooms were great, very clean and great location.
Access to breakfast. Maybe need a better connection to neighbouring resort for breakfast
The view was amazing
It needs some upkeep
Location was excellent, parking was a challenge with tight parks, view of the lake was lovely.
Rooms were warm and there were no instructions to work out how to regulate temperature. Fireplace was either on or off so room was hot or cold as we couldn’t adjust anything which was disappointing. Rooms lacked ventilation overall.
We had rain and the water pooled on the patio quite significantly and didn’t drain. Patio door was missing a lock which mean the unit was unlockable.
size of apartment and felt luxurious!
nothing
Great Location,
Staff are exceptional,
Great room size with a balcony,
Great prices in May and June.
FREE guest washing machine and dryer which was a highlight.
Huge outside heat pump units at out window so very noisey,
Bed and pillows not very comfortable, we did ask for a mattress topper which we got, it helped a little bit,
Very small TV which is fine but one night we stayed in it was hard to watch,
The best thing about the room 202 was the bed.
Room 202 accident wait to happen. Glaring issues with the room, some of them safety issues. The carpet in the living area was a trip hazard with a baggy raised area through the middle of it because the carpet wasn’t secured at the edges.
The bathroom closet to the waterfront is a serious accident waiting to happen. Entering the shower is a rather large step into the bath with rough chipped tiles on the edges. Being an awkward entry and because when turning the shower on, water shoots out of the shower onto the tiled floor and bedroom carpet. My partner and I both ended up slipping getting in, scraping on the rough tiles, breaking skin and receiving some rather good bruises on our legs around the knee area (we are in our 50’s and well able to manoeuvre) the handle is of little use until you get out. The pathetic guard to keep the water in the shower, does absolutely nothing, the tiled floor ends up like a lake, leaking onto the rotten carpet. All the joinery is blown by the water and looks hideous, there is a musty smell, probably the carpet rotting.
Bathroom no 2 as you enter the apartment had serious issues with leaks in the tiles, joinery blown with water leakage and shower hose & fittings absolutely buggered.
The kitchen had big brown water stains all over the curtain, blown kitchen joinery with water.
After making a complaint about the safety issues with the room, it was dealt with in a very professional manner although not a surprise with this room, they knew the room well as it receives frequent complaints and she is embarrassed that it still gets rented. We then read the reviews, room 202 receives feedback, not the positive sort and the replies from management are obviously to appease people, because clearly nothing gets done about it.
We were moved to another room, which, unfortunately the maintenance and upkeep of these apartments is appalling especially the bathrooms, so much the same.
Great location, right next to the lake and town centre. sadly the room booking.com showed me I was going to get did not look anything like the room I received, it showed a balcony, with a lake view and I didn't receive either (that was the main reason I booked this particular hotel). However, the rooms do seem to have really nice amenities and high-end technology eg. heated flooring, bidet hose. The hotel has complementary laundry machines, which is a great bonus they might need to upgrade them as I did find they took over 2 hours to dry my load. The staff were amazing and friendly.
Queenstown is a beautiful destination and Peppers Beacon is in an incredible proximity. A short stroll into and out of town is perfect and being situated across from the lake is spectacular
Unfortunately the shower water suddenly becomes very hot and at times scalding. This could be very dangerous
Great location and very cosy..
My partner and I just checked out of a two night stay at Peppers Beacon, Queenstown. Our room was clean and comfortable. Highlight of this hotel is location.
It is close to city center
We need to pay car park overnight
